  1. Looks like you are having fun, but my guess is you will be just like I was and quickly outgrow the masterbuilt smoker and soon be ready to move on to something bigger and better.. I think mine lasted 2 months...
  2. Here it is right before I finished it with the ball valves... http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj114/indy82z/IMG_20140331_181103.jpg I know some of you wont appreciate the Chicago Bears, but I am thinking of doing my new one as a Chicago Blackhawks one (I'm originally from Chicago). This thing cooks awesome and cost be under $175 to build..
  3. I would have built one.. I love my UDS!! Things are huge and are cheap to build. I guess that is why I have two of them and am building another...
  4. Building a couple of Smokers out of 55 gallon drums. Looking for someone who can sandblast (2) of the drums on the cheap. I can burn them out but I am guessing Gahanna would have a fit and really like the idea of just blasting them and being done with it. Need both the inside and outside blasted. Let me know if anyone can do this cheap. Thanks Tom
  5. Went to Lowes and Home Depot and cant find the correct size. Anybody know of a good source that around here? Looking for Expanded metal #9 with 3/4 holes- NON galvantized prefer 12 inch by 60. Let me know Thanks Tom
  6. Just doing a vertical one on this. The first one I am keeping pretty basic. They have removable lids...pretty much ready to go. The Smokey Mountain Smoker is a fine piece of equipment. I would prefer to make one though. I already have an electrical smoker and an Orion Cooker, so this one I just want to play with.
  7. Found a guy up in Butler that had a ton of these. Picked up two food grade barrels for $15 each. They look absolutely brand new. Next step is giving them a good hot burn to get rid of anything inside and then start building. Really only needed one, but for $15, figured I would nab another and build it also for later.
  8. We just went a couple of weeks ago and used; http://www.smokeymountaincabinspecials.com/ It was really nice and off the beaten path. In fact, there are about 8-9 cabins on a private "road" (its a one lane gravel 1/2 mile road) and they were priced really well. Going back in November.
  9. I am pondering the thought of building a smoker out of a 55 gallon drum. Anyone know a good (cheap) place to pick up a clean or new (something that can be burned in) one? Not 100% committed to this, but really considering it. Thanks in advance.. Tom
  10. Really good information..Thanks a lot!!!
  11. I dont have anything picked out, but that sounds like what I am looking for. Are there any websites that specialize in these types of properties? What are the natural gas rights deal? Never heard of that..guess I need to do more research before I do anything. I guess it is a good thing that I am in no hurry for this.. Thanks again for everyones help..
  12. We are looking at buying some land way down south. We plan on building in it, but not for 3-4 years as I want to wait until my son turns 18 to lay out any more cash. We would like to find about 5-6 acres and just want to build a small get away cabin for the wife and myself. My hope would be to get it paid off by then (if financing was possible). No lines of credit on my existing mortgage.
  13. I was thinking of purchasing some land and had some questions about possible financing. 1) Can you even finance? 2) If so, how is the approximate down payment required? 3) Are the terms the same as a regular mortgage? I am sure we could pay for the property in full, but even at 15 years, the payment would be super cheap and thought maybe it would be better to mortgage and keep cash for when we decide to build on it in 3-4 years. Thanks
  14. Several people interested but no one has picked them up yet..New price.. $50 for the pair?
  15. I have two chrome factory 17" GTO Wheels for Sale. The tires are pretty shot but the rims are in pretty decent shape. They also include the center caps. I got these for a car I have since sold so they are just taking up space in my garage. I had planned on having them redone to put on my car but I needed them to be perfect as my car only had 8K miles. These would be nice on a driver quality car or good to throw some slicks on. Just to get rid of them, I am willing to take $75 for the pair. They are located near Easton and you would have to pick them up. PM me if interested. http://s270.photobucket.com/user/indy82z/library/For%20Sale Thanks Tom
  16. I have upgraded my camera and am selling my Canon EOS XSi. It is in great shape and works perfectly. It will include the body, 18-55 IS Lens, battery grip with extra battery and a 8 GB Class 10 SD card which will hold about 1000 pics at the highest quality. It is and has been a great camera, just upgraded to a Canon professional series camera, otherwise I would keep it. I can post some pics tonight, but figured I would get it posted first to see if there was any interest or if I was just going to keep it as a backup camera. Price is $275 and I am located in Gahanna. Pretty firm on price. Specs are: 12.2-megapixel CMOS sensor captures enough detail for poster-size, photo-quality prints Large 3.0-inch LCD display; includes Canon's EF-S 18-55mm, f3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens DIGIC III image processor provides fast, accurate image processing; improved Autofocus and framing rate EOS Integrated Cleaning system, plus Dust Delete Data Detection in included software Stores images on SD/SDHC memory cards PM or email if anyone is interested. Thanks, Tom
  17. Just picked up a smoker. Going to play around with it this weekend, but curious if anyone has any tips or tricks they use with theirs? I know there are tons of sites about them (my favorite is smoking-meat.com) but curious what everyone is making with theirs and how? Planning on doing Ribs first with mine. Decided on Electric for my first smoker so I could set it and leave it and not have to worry about maintaining the temperature. Thanks in advance.. Tom

Tried them out on Saturday..they were OK. Nothing fantastic...a nice change I guess. If you want wings, go get the Hot and Spicy Wings at Asian Kitchen in the same plaza....you will thank me later.....
  19. I have a 36 inch you can have. Just bring a friend and get it out of my basement and its yours ;-)
  20. I used to use SOPCAST to watch these fights...have for years...problem is, that quit working about 5-6 events ago. Any sites stream these? I dont mind purchasing them, but prefer not to pay the $60 for it. Saw they are 30% off on XBox live, but my XBOX is dead at the moment. Wish they would run that special on other devices also, as I have most all of them.. Thanks in advance.. Tom
  21. I just had the whole thing apart yesterday and and added the grease to the processor and no dice. Not sure what else to try to fix it any more.. Thought maybe it was the power brick, but I am not spending $25 for another incase that is not what the issue is..especially when people seem to be selling the old fat 360's for under $75 all day long. Unless you know something I dont know..
  22. Looking to pick up one of these in before Saturday. Cheaper the better..must work..already have one that has a red ring already...Prefer close to Gahanna. PM me with what you have Thanks, Tom
  23. Keens Body Shop 294-5882 Be taking my car to them for about 15 years..they are great!!
  24. I have a 36" inch you can have for free. It weighs about 150lbs and is in my basement. You drag it out, and its yours. Works fine, just replaced it with a flat screen. I am in Gahanna.
