what kind of bov ? a buddy of mine has the hks on his 1.8T and hes never had a problem, you may have a vacuum leak.

stock turbos on skylines are ceramic , and the j-spec turbos on most toyotas are ceramic,the a guy runnig a stock ct20b on a mr2 which is ceramic and hes running 11's or 12's cant remember for sure.

I have the hks SSQ bov which is the new ones and i think they sound pretty much the same as the older ones.
