  5. Cant tell, have to kill ya if I did...........lol I will say that WJ has the best private fishing lake in the state of Ohio. Stampede You can buy used Nascar Jesels off ebay for 15 bucks for set of 16. I used there bearings, adjusters, and full needle bearing tips in new aluminum bodys. I made new 4140 steel stands and 8620 main shafts. I had the cylinder heads at work and took dimensions and did a little math. A good cad package helped as well. The rockers do not compare to some of the other stuff I have done in there. As to getting a job there, you really need to know someone. As of right now I do not see any positions coming open. Once people get in it is pretty much a retirement job. I have been there 9 years, if I would have not got on there I would of been doing something else by now. Not trying to sound dismal but this is a dying trade and good money in this trade is getting harder to find. I once used to preach to people about this trade now I find myself trying to steer people away from it. Knowing what I know now, I think I may of opted to get into electrical/plumbing type deal just for the reason being if you were to opt for going into bussiness yourself the over head for electrical tools/tooling is far cheaper than fronting for machining equipment in this day and age.
  6. If your looking to take a healthy pay cut then go to the automotive side. There is no money in it unless you can go to work at some Nascar/Nhra type race team. A good friend of mine Jeff Hickernell owned Hickernell Engine Service and closed his doors down December of 05. His reason was no one was spending money. He did however go down to Richard Childress Racing. He stated that he would bring in an easy 6 digits a year versus barely being able to stay afloat up here building engines. I am machinist also, I work at Battelle doing cnc work, cad/cam, wire edm.
  7. shoot me an email with what you have in mind. I work as cnc machinist/programmer. If I cant do it I might have some leads for you to try. jiterfish1@netscape.net

  13. 1986 ford thunderbird 302 efi, 176,000 miles. Body is getting rough but car runs good and is reliable. Just had 550 with of tranny work done, tires are at 70% and breaks are good. Has remote starter. I drove it on 50 mile round trips to work 5 days a week for 8 years so its mostly highway miles. For a cheap beater to drive to point A to B this is a good car. $500 Chad Fisher 740-756-9939 jiterfish1@netscape.net

  16. http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ Bob Hanlon is an NMRA racer or http://www.promotionpowertrain.com/index.html Walt Leaman helps a lot of the NMRA/FFW racers and is one of most helpful guys you would ever want to meet.
  17. Someone has been inside that tranny for something. That crack looks pretty large. The only way to really fix it is to buy the new pieces or you will have to fully grind out that crack and build back up with weld. Just welding over the crack will still leave it prone to crack again. If you decide to buy it and repair it, you might want to give it to Bob Hanlon or Pro Motion Sorry for not getting back with dimensions, I have yet to even venture out to garage
  18. wait till this evening I can let you know then once I get home.
  19. This would worry me as to why it broke in the 1st place??? It better be a cheap package deal. If and when you do it, just give me a shout, the driveshaft was out of a 92 mustang. I can give you assistance on idicating bell There was a place off of Rich and Town that did a shaft for me many moons ago, fairly reasonable. This is my current project. http://www2.propichosting.com/Images/450002242/9.jpg
  20. To add to this you should indicate the bell housing to centrline of crank. The lakewood instructions tell you to do this. Though not required you should put a longer fork on considering the hole for the clutch cable is spaced out farther. I have a aluminum drive shaft and tko shifter if your interested contact me at jiterfish1@netscape.net I am below canal winchester. Chad Fisher
