The z28 is a n/a car, i can gurantee that, i dont think it was heatsoak, considering it was in the 40's that night and dropping. Its an NA car...the funny thing is the Red SS and him have went at it for yrs and the red SS usually edged em out if i remember right? The SS in all the other videos made 455rwhp...and it ran right with the Mach....but yet the Z-28 walked the mach??? So either he did some big heads and a fast and did a serious diet with some steep gears or he is spraying or maybe the mach had some heat soak also since it was his 45th race of the night???? BTW- if thats your Cobra get some tires and please do a rematch....your car looks amazing.

It shouldn't be an issue. I usually don't say that when it comes to drag racing, but if it's setup properly 10's won't be an issue at all. You could put Mickey T drag radials on the factory wheels and still run a 10 with that setup.

whipple's still in the car---can't decide if i want a bigger blower, or what. i will likely maximize the suspension mods, weight management, and shoot for 10's this summer, which should be easily attainable. i've been thoroughly happy with the whipple though--its been at 590 rwhp at 17psi for over 3 years and 9k miles. i'd recommend the 2.3 whipple, or 2.6 kb for anyone looking for a fun street car around 600rwhp with mild/moderate boost. these blowers max out aroun 650rwhp, but you'll need over 20psi, and better gas to get there.

 

i'd love to turn my '85GT into a modular fox with a cobra motor. i already have the IRS and t56.

10's will be cake with an auto.

oddly, the t56 in my cobra shifts easier than the 6speed in my vette, which shifts much easier than the t56 in my GTO. i have an MGW shifter in the cobra, with a firewall adjustable cable/quadrant. the vette has an MGW shifter. GTO has a GMM ripshifter with a 'lou's short stick' handle. none shift perfect, but for some reason the cobra shifts best. car is being dropped off to go auto this week, and the t56 is going in my '85.

They shift rough. But are tough.

There is a t-56 in my car and it could not be easier to shift.

Internals of tranny are different. hence you have broke a lot of trannys. My buddy makes around 800rwhp on stock tranny with stage 5 clutch and he rips it.
