  6. felt the same way. and it felt boxier... people say the glock is like holding a 2x4... ha the xd is far worse. i was grouping tighter at 10 yards with my G27 (sub compact) than with my buddies XDM 40 full frame. might because im used to shooting my glock, but the xd/xdm handguns dont impress me
  7. New chain, water pump, fluids, brakes... The track bike is getting prepped for paint
  8. if i had to extra scratch and time for another bike id be all over this
  9. bike is getting work done to it. so no riding for me.
  10. i do... all personal opinion of course. i think the xd sub compact is a cheap rip off of a glock, not built very well. feels cheap and ganky in the hand.
  11. its not totally about the money, as much as frustration.. as well as there is more of the hobby to do on a bike to me. you can travel, race at the track (drag or road course), bike nights, poker runs, etc etc.. yeah you can do it in a car, but its just not as fun. especially in a car thats modified (traveling wise) you can get on a bike and almost never have to worry about shit breaking. plus its just a different experience but like buck i like to mod my house now as well... and my garage.
  12. yeah you can have it sprayed in, i dont know the cost on that stuff though. you can get the 32' rolls of insulation for like $15 though. it may be cheaper to pull the drywall and put insulation up and put drywall back up. and drywall is only like $5 a sheet if you had to put all new up. id just call around and get a quote on the spray stuff and go from there. my garage is detached and all block, so atleast you have an attached, probably doesnt get near as cold as mine does.
  13. well what im doing... im gonna get rolls of insulation and staple it to the roof of my garage. and for the concrete block walls im either going to .. put some fairing strips up and put the rolled insulation in between and plywood or drywall over it or put up some of the insulation panelling.. it comes in 4x8 sheets and is 1/2 thick, and R value. i could glue it right to the block and its white, so it wont look terrible. as for my garage door... mine is wood, so im gonna cut some of the insulation paneling and put it on the back of the door. that should net me a pretty big increase in keeping the heat in/cold out. ill do something about the windows, i just dont know yet
  14. no west side love.. ill try to make it to some of these this year if i can
  15. my heater runs non stop when im in the garage... i need to put some insulation up. that may be my weekend project
  16. surprised no one has mentioned the glock 26/27 to him
  17. tuning for gearing.. ehh probably not much at all, but for the slip on and just smoothing the bikes stock tune out, it does wonders. like i said though.. remove the pair valve assembly, you get an accurate read through the wide band when you do that versus still having the pair valve assembly on and it makes it look lean all the time.
  18. i will probably get another "cool" car in the future, but it will stay stock. im not fighting a loosing battle any more with cars. ill buy it, drive it, enjoy it and be done. for now, my practical and purposeful vehicles will do me just fine.
  19. bikes are an absolute blast... and there is so many different aspects of riding.. thats why i love it, and the bike crowd is diverse but overall more together than car crowds. when i first got into bikes it was the speed aspect that got me hooked. now im in love with traveling on the bike. nothing better than seeing the country on a bike its a whole different experienve. and now i got a new hobby to try out... doing track days on the other bike as well. so this year should be alot of fun.
  20. reading stimmels thread provoked a reply that got me thinking.. who is past the making cars faster thing? the last mustang i had just pissed me off to the point where it wasnt fun anymore. now i could care less about a fast car. i still love, and enjoy cars, and talk cars all the time. But im done dumping money into cars, i get no enjoyment from it any more. i may do a few aesthetic things to the truck like window tint or wheels... or duty things like a bedliner and hitch, but thats where it will end. i get more fun and enjoyment from the bikes now. they are easier to maintain, less expensive to have fun with, and taking the trips on the VFR is just amazing. Best thing is the wife loves the bike too.
  21. out of the car scene.. bikes are moar fun
