The scirocco is a different body from the golf but it's based on the same chassis. Golf R has all wheel drive but the Scirocco R is front wheel drive only which is slightly lame.

One of the Road and Track guys managed to borrow it from VWOA for the weekend.

Had the chance to race a 2014 Scirocco R this weekend, we only had one shot down an active runway and it didn't go very well. Good fun all the same. I had a huge head start and the R was a car length back when we let off at 118mph.
