tires are flush with the wear bars at 1-2/32nd of tread. In the good range for track/dry use. I had to have a tire with tread so i can drive the car in the rain. I had them on a 10.5 rim and they are kinda skinny for a 315, i'm sure i could mount them on a 9" if you were looking for track tires. $75

yes some might be stronger than others but who wants to drop 1k on winter rims alone... take your trout and shove it pookie.

i took an oem wheel off an 04 m3 with a crack from a pothole the other day, not to mention tons of audi/vw wheels. matter of fact I've seen tons of oem wheels crack probably over a hundred in just a few years time. the root of this story, is that any wheel is going to crack or bend to a point where its useless and not holding air if you hit the right hole/object i dont care who makes it.

RL- i was pulling very consistent 1.62 on a 26x11.50x16 et street, and while still on the stock clutch i suspect i'm giving up a little off the line because of it. I'm going to have to put a good clutch in the car anyway, so this is more of a theory post, than what I should go out and buy tomorrow. Rob-gearhead- 4.10's

you do understand that before a wheel company can sell a wheel it goes through way more rigorous tests than your 4,000 lb sled would ever put a wheel through...right?

ok the car traps 119 normally on sticky 26" tires and i go through the traps at 6500. If i go to 28" tall and go through the traps at 6000 is that going to help/hurt my 1/4 times..through the gears.. i.e. not talking sidewall height and benefit of hooking up better. and heres a dyno sheet to go with the question http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/Turborust/dyno.jpg

stockers are 18's and not the best for winter rubber. i'd think he might buy cheap 17" winter setup, sell the stockers and go aftermarket 18's with teh stock tires.... but i could be wrong.
