need some help here... DVD player took a shit on me tonight. had been acting up for a month or two, but when i pulled it out, vaccumed out the fan, it worked fine. gave me same error couple weeks ago, cleaned fan again, worked. tonight, just died. thought it may be dirty inside, tore it apart, shitload of dust inside (odd for a <2 year old unit), cleaned everything out, went through a can of compressed air. put it all back together, turn it on, same error code right off the bat, shuts down. figures this happens to me the same night i go out and spend 125$ on an upconverting DVD player. so heres what i want/plan to do 1) return upconverting DVD player. 2) find new receiver/player things i would like in a receiver. i dont know if anything like this exists, if so, links or models would be fantastic... a) bluray player b) multi disc changer 5-6 disc (not a priority, but would be nice) c) at least 2 sets of audio inputs. would like to hook up audio from cable and wii so i can play sound through surround sound... d) HDMI output. i guess i would just need one to feed signal from dvds/bluray discs to the tv? then i would just run an HDMI cord from cable box to tv, and an audio cable from cable box to receiver? e) 5.1 surround sound. 7.1 wouldnt be bad for the right price, but i dont want to go out and buy a new set of speakers right now, and with my OCD, having 2 non-matching speakers would drive me nuts. im gonna start searching. if anyone has suggestions, let me know. i need to order something or find it in stores soon so i can get my surround sound back. listening to the TV speakers SUCKS. ive got speakers, so i either need something i can hook up my 6 speaker system into, or a whole new system that i can just sell my speakers i currently have.

it could probably be done. i actually just happened to check because a buddy at work is looking for a place to stay (he bought a house 2 hours away in his hometown, and moving out of his appt with roommates since they're having a kid), and i told him if i can get a garage near my unit, i'd clear out the 2nd bedroom and let him stay there. she called me monday and said theres a few available down by me for that price. they have some down the street (same complex) that seem a bit wider. like 1.5 car wide.

you can get a storage unit for 40$/mo. shit, you could rent out one of the garages here at my complex (1/4 mile from your house) for 50$/mo.

the griptilian isnt spring assisted, AFAIK, but it only takes a flick of the thumb to open. its not very tight at the hinge you need your other hand to open it.

i loved my Benchmade mini-griptilian w/ a partially serrated blade. it's ~$75. i need to replace it, since i lost it, but i dont find myself reaching for a knife at all anymore, so im not gonna spend the $
