i wish it was that easy. all of the places we found near work are 700-750/mo, which is almost 200$/mo more than what im paying now. if i have a large car payment, ill have to stay where im at with low rent. if i move toward work, ill need a smaller car payment to be able to afford rent

i guess i should have clarified, it wasnt just a single knock...it was a loud knock 4-5x, then maybe 3 seconds later, another quick knock...thats probably why it threw me off. usually, when i knock on someones door, ill wait for 30 seconds before trying again, if im even going to lights on our apartment are automatically controlled, and are always on at night...we have no control over that

i think it was more of the heart going from resting pace to fast-as-fuck (thats an actual pace, for those unaware) in a matter of a couple seconds. just felt like my nerves were on pins and needles for a minute.

its not about chilling out. its fucking 1am, the complex im in i wouldnt call the greatest bunch of residents you can find. its not like i opened the door with the gun pointed at her face to see what was up. i doubt she even knew i had it since it was in my right hand behind my hip and i was leaning around the door funny though...i dont remember seeing the same reactions when someone had a thread about someone ringing his doorbell at 9pm and reacted in a similar fashion

so im sitting here, checking out a few threads about the track day, been hearing footsteps for the last 15 minutes or so outside...theres 4 apartments on the upper level where im at, and 4 below. didnt think much of it...car alarm went off for a few seconds a bit ago, looked out, car was leaving...no biggie... then, i hear a knock on my door. my stomach dropped for a second...when i got home earlier, i had taken my gun and holster off and left it on the kitchen table. grabbed it, came to door, check the peep hole, see its my neighbor... never really talk to her, just the normal "hey" when passing, etc. ask her through the door 'whats going on', but couldnt hear what she was saying...put my foot behind the door, cracked it open to see what she wanted... apparently she found 2 keys on a ring near the bottom of the steps of our breezeway, and thought checking with everyone at 1am was the best time to check. wtf? i would think taping a note up saying "if you lost keys, i found them, ill leave them at the office" or "call me tomorrow" went to take a piss after i locked up again, and my knees were still shaking the whole time. definitely not something that i want to deal with again

i think the reasonable side of me won over, and ill probably be getting something good on gas for the 35+ miles a day trip to and from work. i found a few for a few thousand bucks...itll save me on gas, and i can pay it off in a year, then buy something like a GTO that i wont have to use as a daily.

something like the GTO wouldnt be driven much, if at all in snow...we've got the g/fs mazda3 that is a beast in the snow...its nuts. i guess my issue is with something like the volvo, audi, etc, if something goes wrong, its gonna be a bit more for replacement parts and performance parts than something like the GTO

checked out a few cars today...found a few i liked...still going to look tomorrow again (rain sucked today) 2004 volvo s60r...awd, turbo, 6 speed...had 56k miles...was odd though, it wouldnt go into 5th gear...obviously, i wouldnt be buying it unless that gets fixed. interior was beautiful, was quick enough from me going 1-2-3-4 down 5th ave (coming from 120hp to ~300 is a bit of a jump). insurance is 12$/mo more than i was paying for my 03 hyundai elantra. 2004 GTO. one i liked most was a silver one at byers near the airport...had holden badges, fairly new looking BFGs, 26k miles. drove a red one at ricart (the one at byers was on the floor inside) and it felt pretty good. 6 speed, ls1. i figure with something like this, maintenance would be a lot cheaper than something like a volvo or bmw...insurance only 150/mo...24$/mo more than the elantra. 2002 BMW 330ci. topaz blue, auto , had a nice stereo system in it already...bank wont let the term go out more than 54 months and the price they were asking is a bit out of my price range...downside is like the volvo, high maintenance costs. it did look good though. would look 10x better after giving andy a few hours and some $$. insurance only 137/mo...11$/mo more than the elantra

july woulda only been a few months, but i know what you're saying they just sent me my lease renewal notice...unless i find something similar for same price in westerville soon (which i dont see happening), ill probably renew...its a 2nd floor 2br/2ba

the places right behind the big church? its full of somalians. thats why. i had a friend moved there when they were brand new, and left as soon as their lease was up. i hated going over there. shoulda just waited for something to open up over here...same price range, i havent seen 1 somalian here.

i guess it doesnt matter now...i talked to him yesterday, and he was saying they were waiting for the kid to go to court before they decided anything, which was on the 14th...i told him thats bullshit, im not waiting 2 more weeks, blasted him a bit, then asked for his supervisor...gives me the story hes not in, but will have him call me back by the end of the day...he gives me a call back an hour and a half later (same guy, not the sup), saying theyre going to pay the claim in full, had a rental car waiting for me, etc etc. turned out for the best

i kinda figured it was his job to give me shit, but i just wanted to see what others think. the kid did get cited, i have maps showing the distance from where he was pulling from, and i was turning into, and the police report shows exactly what happened, and says he was attempting a left turn across NB traffic hopefully they determine he's at fault soon so i can get a rental car

is it something where if there arent 2-3 cars deep in the lane, you wont get the arrow, so you sit back where the 2-3 car would be, but at the front of the line?

eh...i found this, but its for CA, so i know its probably different here... Two-way left turn centre lanes must not be used for any other purpose, such as overtaking. According to the California Driver Handbook 2002 (external link verified Jul-02) you are limited to driving for about 200 feet in these lanes but the law in other states may be different

just trying to get a general consensus on this...the other couple accidents ive been in, i was 100% at fault, and for once, this ones not on me, yet,the other guys insurance company (which is the same as i have...go figure) adjuster is trying to give me shit about when i should/shouldnt be getting into the turn lane. the accident happened ~60 feet before my turn (which he is trying to claim is more, but looking at satelite image, its no more than 60-70 feet like i told him), and i got into the lane and signaled maybe 60-75 feet before the accident. honestly, i dont see an issue with ~120-135 feet, being that its a 45mph road...it would have given me enough time to come to a speed safe enough to turn at, instead of slowing down, holding up any traffic behind me, then getting over at the last possible second to make the turn... ive tried searching for the ORC as to when you are to (or should) enter a mutual turn lane, but couldnt find anything...all i could really find was what i already knew, that he, making a left turn does not have the right of way and must yeild to any oncoming traffic
