  1. Looking at that ProPublica article, Elon Musk paid $0 in taxes in 2018. If you take his 2021 yearly income and tax it at 14% (the median tax bracket), that is $17,708,142,023.60. The median taxpayer makes $70,000 and pays $9,800 in taxes (at 14%). It would take 1,806,953 taxpayers to equal his one tax bill. If you can spend the time going after 1 non-payer or going after 1.8M non-payers and yield the same result, who would you target? If you tax him at 37% (the bracket for over $628,300), it would take 4,775,519 median non-payers to equal just him. All of his companies combined only have 110,000 employees. At what point is it okay to not pay any tax because you created jobs that create tax revenue? 10? 100? 1000? The upper 1% pay more dollar wise but it is supposed to be an equal proportion. It is supposed to be more equal that way. Much like the guys on Super Speeders laugh at tickets meanwhile a single parent family may not eat that week because monetarily they are equal but proportionately they are drastically different. (Hence why some other countries make fines percentages instead of $ amounts.)

Did you know elons salary in 2018 was $56380, so your math is off.

He is building the value of his company instead of taking cash (yes he gets paid in stock also)

People be thinking he has $448B sitting in a vault with him swimming in it like scrooge mcduck, but the wealth he has is a business that produces jobs and goods.

  2. It's crazy that we've been talking about this exact problem with China since at least the early '90s and no one's bothered to do anything to curb it. Computer chips are a perfect example, why can't those be made here? I'm not thinking a Chinese dude is over there making them. We can't have advanced robotics? I guess that would make the unions angry lol.

The chips are built in Taiwan (not to say the materials come from the red flag)

Edit: unless your one of those that view Taiwan a part of China to be reunited under the control of the ccp

  3. Been here 10 years now. I worked for Liebert when I started, got laid off December of 19 and now I work for the city of Columbus. I had a turd gen Camaro when I joined, now I daily a 05 S4 and have a rx7 and a wrx as projects.

What department were you in at Liebert? I've been at Vertiv since 2018.

An older member here that joined before the fast and the furious came out.

I'm an old man now with a few daughters, so I'm working a few jobs to take care of all the woman in my house,

I got lucky and sold my house at the right time to buy one in Dublin, then refinanced it at the right time

  4. 2018 was the last year for awd with a stick for the 3series

2019 was the last year for awd with a stick for the err 4 series they call it.

Had to get the last awd manual car that's not a subbie or Porsche

  5. Dropping in to say hi for the old people that remember me

  6. I eat healthy, I get exercise at my job and work out some. I get about 7 1/2 hours of sleep a night.

I was on Prednisone a couple times for some joint Injuries. When I was on that I felt great.

Is there anything like that available?

Prednisone is great, being old I wake up so stiff sore and inflamed only thing that helps so I can put my socks on. Haha. Also only thing that helped my shoulder pain when I tore my rotator cuffs a few times.

  7. Are you wanting just short terms boost of energy?

Caffeine or Sudafed are the main choices or Adderall of you can get a prescription. Pretty much all energy drinks or supplements are just caffeine so I wouldn't waste money on costly ones

But to have permanent daily boost in energy your going to have to get your sleep in order and avoid those substances.

Like others are saying might have your test levels checked if your under 400ng/dl you might want to find a good Dr to prescribe, but it is a big decision cause lof you go on you really should stay on the rest of your life kind of thing and know the pros and cons.

  8. I posted up a month ago that I was selling my 335xi, a few people messaged me, but I didnt get back with them, sorry. Needed to get a replacement vehicle first and some other life things taken care of.

But selling my 2008 bmw 335xi

    Monaco (dark) Blue

    AWD

    Sport Edition

    6 speed manual transmission

    comfort access

    leather

    heated seats

    aluminum trim

    ipod control

    moon roof

    JB4

    summer and winter mats

    162,4xx miles

I was daily driving this before I got another vehicle

    Issues:

body has a few dings and dents, window shield is cracked

I replaced the battery, but didn't get it coded, so it throws a bunch of codes and drains if I leave it sit more then a day.

Fuel pressure sensor needs to be replaced (throws code) so it throws it in limp mode when you get on it. I haven't turned on the JB4 for a while because of this.

valve cover gasket leaks, I have the valve cover gasket, just never got time to replace it.

left side rear door is locked and wont open

right side rear window cable needs replaced, got off track and and had to removed the cable to get the window up

    trunk only opens with key

wheels and tires are mismatched, Columbus pot holes are ridiculous, I have gone through 6 tires in one year. So I have another set of rims, though some are bent.

wanting to just get rid of it fast, offering it to CR before facebook or craigslist

    $3000

guess we cant upload pics so let me know if this link works

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/pjgOKR9Tgzx4J40Y2

best way to contact me is to text me at 937-417-2747 as I only get on here once every few days.

  9. i have 147k on my 2008 335xi awd 4 door. I have put on over 110k of that myself.

fuel system will have lots of problems, issues pop up every year or so for me, currently have some issue with an injector or fuel system pressure sensor, but to broke from last set of repairs to get it fixed. I just cant get on it or it studders and throws codes, puts it in low power mode.

when the clutch goes out, its horribly expensive to fix/replace. very hard to do yourself to.

water pump goes out, takes a day to replace because of the way the orient the hose clamps.

have issues with my power locks before, one door stays locked, my driverside door once wouldnt lock, but it fixed its self somehow.

struts and mounts wear out pretty fast. costly to replace.

    driveshafts wear out fast, costly.

im having issues now were i am loosing 1/2 gallon of coolant each week, probably cause the tech at mag didnt tighten a clamp after another issue I had with my coolant system I took it in for.

Think i am forgetting other issues ive had.

basically I wont buy another BMW again, and would advise against it

car is paid off now but im still paying $7k of my last 2 repairs, should have just burned it.

  10. BMWs do suck in the snow. My lowered, open-diff 325 with 3 degrees of negative camber and 5 year old bald all seasons was barely able to keep up with traffic in a couple inches of snow this winter.

You can have fun, but you better not be in a hurry.

lol my 335xi does great in the snow, it can't be stopped.:dumb:
