I was at Keystone on Friday and Saturday and we took some video from the runs, most of which I took while skiing behind/beside the people we were with. the two snowboarders were friends of our family, the other skiier was my brother in law. They're all intermediate and stick mostly to the blue runs, i ski almost all black runs (single/double/triple) except for when im tagging alone with other people. We did have a great time while we were there... beautiful weather, great grooming and lift operation. Actually yes. Spin up time is way slower on those because unlike a simple compressor on a turbo, a turbine engine has several, and there is an awful lot of rotational inertia there. Your analogy, while correct to an extent, is better used to describe a ramjet, or even a scramjet, not a turbojet.
