Chris, if you were to buy a house where your 10-15 year mortgage payment were the same as the rent you are currently paying, You would be way ahead in just a few years. The best thing you could do is buy that same home, rent it to someone else at a higher rate than you pay for the mortgage, and once it's paid off move into it. Nothing better than using other peoples money to buy something you want.

I assume you do not have a bill of sale, notarized or no? If so, you have proof that you sold your car and it is no longer in your possession. As far as the tags go, you are supposed to remove them yourself before the car changes hands. If you had an agreement to get them back and that agreement has not been fulfilled, you may report them as stolen.

Great car. Some rust on the doors and trunk. A rust free trunk and two rust free doors come with the car. Since buying the car, I have fixed all power window motors, and the automatic top. The interior needed a little help, so instead of fixing the ugly blue interior I bought the (power) seats and carpet from a 1995 GT (in black). The car comes with the 5 lug disc brake rear from the same GT, as well as the front spindles complete with 5 lug disc brakes, and rear lowering springs (Steeda?), none of which are installed. The interior is currently apart for the swap to the 95 stuff, though it hasn't been installed. The car is currently a 3.8 V6 auto, but that can also be changed very easily. You can send him a certified letter containing the information he needs. You can reference the certified mail number before hand and your receipt is proof that he received the letter. You will be protected by paypal if you go that route, but you have to sell the letter and information contained within, not just the information.
