  1. I called before I dug.
  2. I rented a mini excavator and dug a 5'x4'x3' hole in my backyard, lined it with landscaping fabric, filled it with river rock, and ran trenches of corrugated piping into it from other points in the yard. It helped, and only cost the amount of the excavator and material mentioned above. It's worth a shot.
  3. Does this mean overtime? If so, how much on average?
  4. Geeto is right, disclosures must be signed for any water issues. They can claim they didn't know, but if the damage is significant, that would be hard to argue (though not impossible).
  5. I sent you Greg's information, did I not? If not, I will, if I did, he obviously isn't what you're looking for.
  6. This is the go to flow chart for how to properly spend your money to set yourself up for conservative investing. The upper areas are for everyone, then when it talks about more aggressive methods of long term investing, use the riskier ideas mentioned in this thread. Build your foundation first (i.e., pay off higher interest debt, have an emergency fund, etc.) https://i.imgur.com/lSoUQr2.png
  7. Uninterruptible Power Supplies Not at the moment.
  8. I love my job. I perform field service (mainly for hospitals). I rarely talk to my boss (I've never met him), and travel can take me to some fantastic destinations, all paid for by someone else. It pays well, and I'm very good at it.

    Taxes

Effective tax rate is different than the tables. Though it seems your rate is higher than most here. Your overall rate is much lower than even 24% though, all said and done. For FEDERAL income taxes (Howard).

http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=695&pictureid=5565 I meant federal income tax. The next time you and I are together you can prove to me that 60% of your money was paid in tax last year.

    Taxes

Everyone's tax rate in this thread is around 13%, mine included. That means you can have your household income go up $15k with no additional money taken out of your checks and still break even. Even in a higher bracket you can go up $10k and still be safe.

Nah, it's because you said "Unfortunately we made more money".

I'm not even sure why your tax rate is 20% if you own your own business. It should be a max of 21%, and you have a shit ton of write offs. You should be writing off more.

This is absolutely the wrong way to look at things. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=695&pictureid=5585
  15. I think people place far too much value in the opinions of others.
  16. Filling in the gaps in my home gym, looking for used hex weights. I have sets up to 30 lbs but looking for anything over that. Let me know if you have anything or know of anyone selling. Thanks!

    Online Doctors

I'll use the services of doctors like that for easy stuff, such as when I know what I need but just need a doctor to confirm so I can get a prescription, but if I need a physical doctor i won't hesitate to go in person where I can get quality care. For instance, I am having GERD issues and I'm being taken care of by the specialists at the University of Chicago. Fantastic place. But very expensive.
  18. Oh snap! I wondered when I saw the headlights!
  19. Great deal. I did this myself for my 32TB server (was 16TB). I can get these drives shucked in less than a minute now. Edit: I replaced the 8TB internal drives with the 4TB I removed, and sold them for $100 ea. Just FYI for anyone reading.
  20. Where did you come up with this number? The only way to check resistance by measuring voltage is to know how much current there is during cranking. Why wouldn't you suggest simply measuring resistance? How much resistance should he measure before replacing the cable? Or are you just throwing random numbers out?
