  6. Apparently this was all over cable news but its the first I've heard of it. Pretty crazy. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-us-navy-nurse-from-great-lakes-to-receive-bronze-star-20120809,0,5797122.story A nurse at Lovell Federal Health Care Center will receive the Bronze Star today for the heroism he displayed when he removed a live rocket-propelled grenade from a Marine’s leg in Afghanistanearlier this year. Lt. Cmdr. James Gennari, a 52-year-old Navy trauma nurse, later watched as other service members detonated the device in a safe spot. The blast could have demolished a car, he said. Gennari, who is stationed at the military hospital at Naval Station Great Lakes near North Chicago, served in Afghanistan from August 2011 until this March. Gennari, whose permanent home is in East Chicago, Ind., treated the wounded at Forward Operating Base Edinburgh in Helmand Province. On Jan. 12, Gennari received word that an incoming helicopter carried a Marine with a live rocket-propelled grenade, fired by an enemy combatant, lodged in his leg, he said. The Marine, Cpl. Winder Perez, was taken to a safe area outside the hospital. The surgeon on hand told Gennari he didn’t have to risk his life by treating the man. “I said ‘I’m a nurse. That’s my job. I’m going,’” said Gennari, who was aided in the procedure by Army Staff Sgt. Ben Summerfield.

  12. As listed i have a multitude of material that i'd be willing to sell on the cheap.Everything is up to date and has been purchased with in the last 2 years. Most of them are comprehensive study guides that come with an inactivated CD for computery studies. Anyone who has bought new study guides out of pocket knows how expensive they are and since i have no use for them i'd be more than happy to see someone get use out of them. If anyone here expresses interest for themselves, their wives or family/friends i'll post pics and list every thing I have with prices. Keep in mind that fall semester is starting soon! also, I have an account on nlnonline.org that contains a bank of 4000 questions and offers various testing styles from a quick 20 questions review to a 200 question test that mirrors the nclex. Settings allow you to get immediate feed back (if desired) and each question give a rational for the right and wrong answers. This is the account that i used primarily for my nclex studying. It expires in October(i think) and would be willing to sell it also if anyone is interested. $20

  21. Its been a busy summer for me complete with a bachelor party via driving to CO for a week, Maui HI for our wedding and then Kauai HI for the honeymoon. Here are a few pics. I stayed back and did some down hill mountain biking while my boys knocked out one of the higher 14ers in CO, Mt. Elbert. Yes that's Coors light. Taste the Rockies. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/s720x720/582090_916767673577_1161657901_n.jpg Two days before Mt. Elbert we all packed into Ice Lake Basin CO and spent the night up there. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/165963_916769659597_707485727_n.jpg Black Canyon in Gunnison Natl Park, CO http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/524049_916767189547_175014627_n.jpg 1.5 weeks later I found myself getting married in Maui. We got bused up to the summit of Mt. Haleakala (10,023 ft), saw a beautiful sun rise and then coasted down the mountain road on bikes. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/552668_10102070820301435_165436419_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/488381_10102070822651725_1854845220_n.jpg After the wedding in Maui we shot out to Kauai HI drove up to Waiemea Canyon http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/268648_10102070965216025_1766358733_n.jpg and for the big cap off to the honeymoon we sea kayaked 17mi around the Na Pali Coastline (which is only accessible by watercraft, helio or hiking) http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/427530_10102070966613225_397754950_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/482119_10102070967012425_2023877943_n.jpg http://mappery.com/maps/Na-Pali-Coast-Kayak-Map.mediumthumb.jpg
