I was really hoping to get more than that seeing how the swap alone costs over $2500.

  9. What is your wheel lug pattern? This is gonna be an awesome event!
  10. If lsx's fit, you should be able to MAKE it fit into a miata! Move the battery to the back and that should take care of the balance issue. A supra or rx7 would be cool as well. high power to weight ratio + solid platform = lotsa fun

    Ticket Question

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll post back with results after court.
  12. What is your power range?? The first graph goes from 4k-7k rpm and the second graph goes from 0-4k. Is the first graph you posted the second half of the second graph or what? Nice numbers nonetheless!

    Ticket Question

What would you recommend as the defense in court? Plead not guilty to the first two and explain that he wasn't even in the area on that day?

    Ticket Question

Thanks for all the replies, everyone's feedback is much appreciated! The court date is coming up next week so opinions from policeman really help. Let me know what you think about this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Tulo52/BSPostTicket.jpg

    Ticket Question

All of the story has been told, I'm not leaving anything out. I will take a picture of the ticket and post it later. This happened in Parma btw, Geauga County.
  16. I had a 96' with 180,000mi that got great mileage and was extremely reliable. The car would have ran forever with proper maintenance. A little boost goes a long way with VTEC yo! I trapped 118mph on low boost and at the stock curb weight on my most current setup. You could easily get to 280 reliable whp with just a basic turbo kit, and wouldn't have to touch the internals. Just do the timing belt and water pump and enjoy.

    Ticket Question

That's what I thought but it's exactly what happened. Nothing is being left out. The date the ticket was issued is marked, then the date the offense was committed (which happened to be twelve days earlier) is marked. I know there are a few officers of the law on here and was hoping one would chime in on what they think is going on. Will this hold up in court or was he hoping he would just pay it? What should his defense be? He literally can't even confirm whether or not he was on the road when this officer said he was.

    Ticket Question

BTW, this was not a tuner car or anything easy to recognize. It was a bone stock 93' Tempo beater.
  19. A buddy of mine got pulled over the other day for a license plate light out, and got a ticket for that as well as a loud muffler ticket. Those I can understand but I was really surprised when I heard that he also got two tickets for an illegal turn and illegally passing like two weeks earlier. The officer said that he saw my friend make the turn or whatever but didn't pull him over at the time because he wasn't in his patrol car. I was just really surprised to hear this because I've never heard of someone getting a ticket for something that happened any number of days before. My friend honestly can't remember what happened yesterday let alone two weeks ago. How can the officer be so sure that it wasn't just a car that looked the same as his or even who was driving at the time? I know the police can pretty much do whatever they want but the officer literally could have said that he was guilty of any offense he wanted to and it took place on any date that he wanted and it would have been the officer's word angainst my friends. How much power do city police officers really have? I don't understand how this is a legitimate citation. I was always under the impression that if you get a traffic ticket it has to be given to you at the time the offense was commited, but maybe this isn't the case? Enlighten me and share any similar experiences you guys may have had. Thanks!
  20. My cousin goes to Tolls Technical, he's said good things about them. There's also a MINI tech at MAG that graduated from there. They're both younger guys so I don't know what the average age of the students are though.
  21. Are these the same Brenners that own Ohio Tech College in Cleveland? I've been to Pacemakers a few times with a buddy that lives in Mt. Vernon, it's always a good time. I'm definitely down for a track day.

    i need 2 favors

I can help you out with both. I think we've met once or twice. Shoot me a PM if you wanna meet up.
  23. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to end up going to UTI or Wyotech and taking the automotive technology core course and the chassis fabrication and high performance engines elective. After that I'm pretty sure the dealership will sponsor me to take the BMW steps program so that I can get into the shop. I talked to every tech in the shop and the general consensus is that they are happy with their jobs. The lowest paid MINI tech made 40 grand last year and the highest paid Bimmer tech made just under 100, with the average in the 70 range. That sounds pretty sufficient to me. I realize that working on shit all the time might make me want to work on my own stuff less, but the problem I'm running into alot lately is that I don't know enough to do alot of the stuff I want. And of course, I don't always have the right tools for the job. I've been thinking about this for a very long time and I've asked around alot. I really think that this is going to be a good choice for me.
  24. I'm currently enrolled at OSU in the college of human ecology. I hate it. On the other hand, I absolutely love working on cars. I don't know nearly enough about them, but everything I have learned I have basically taught myself. I feel that I have a knack for this field, and with the proper education, the sky would be the limit for me. This is not something I just decided this morning, but something I have thought about my entire life, all the way back to my toddler obsession with erector sets. I love building shit and I don't mind getting my hands dirty. After High school graduation I had proposed the idea of going to Wyotech to my parents, and they shot it down right away. What it basically comes down to, is that my parents have always expected the best out of their children, and a blue collar job just wasn't going to be good enough for me. They think that It will be impossible to amount to anything without a college diploma. The only negotiation they would make was that I could go to Wyotech after I graduate college. But why keep putting off my dream career? I've worked at Midwestern Auto Group for three years and know enough people on the inside to get a technician job, but the two things they look for when evaluating techs is experience and education, neither of which I have. BTW, I pay my own tuition. I realize I have the ability to do whatever I want, even if it's against my parents wishes, but they've done way too much for me in my lifetime for me to dissapoint and go against them now. I had heard a friend mention that OSU had an Automotive Technology major, And was really excited about that because I would be able to please my parents, and choose the career path that I want. I've searched and searched, but for the life of me I cannot find any information about this on OSU's website. If OSU doesn't offer this are there any other local schools that do(Columbus State;Tolls;etc)? Give me some advice guys, this is a very pivotal decision for me, as it may decide what I will be doing for the rest of my life. TIA -JP
