cast iron heads- Who can weld that I was gonna weld it but I can't weld cast iron
-
I am geting ready to "home port" a set of heads to use till funds allow for better ones. So anyways I want to eliminate the smog pump bump next to the valve. I have discussed this with a friend who sugg useing a steel plug then porting it down with the rest but I was wondering if there was a epoxy to use to fill the hole instead. Something that can with stand the heat( and maybe spray). Also I AM doing myself so please don't tell me to take it to m&m or what not.
I thank you for any help any help

I think you got what he was saying IT IS NOT WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT AND MONEY TO DO THIS SWAP" if you realy have to have this for some strange reason buy a real one from over seas and have it shiped over, Yes it is costly but at least it is a complete working car that is not hacked together.

I don't think tack welding some 1 by1 braceing inside the body would be a bad idea, that body is not a sturdy as it once was and once it twists it is a bitch to get back. but just my thought
Also dave the forklift and trailer are around if that helps

how many miles on your car? I am guessing that it under 50 thow. If so I would not worry about motor flush and that sort. Check you owners manual to see when a coolant flush is recamended, Other than that just change the oil and such. Oh and on oil, a Full synthetic will do a couple things, first it will free up some hp do to reduction in friction. second due to the lesser friction the motor will last longer and take a little more abuse. But if you are going to spend the money on engine oil I would change out the geerbox and rearend fuids too in order to see the hp gains and save wear and tear on whole car.
what stand alone?
