Well thanks everyone. I have some things to think about. Now lets see how serious this guys offer is.
-
This is exactly where my thoughts are.

Yeah twice ha ha. I just picked it up again today and its still vibrating between 70-80mph. They told me to drop it back off on Tuesday AND THEY ARE FINALLY TAKING IT TO MAG and admiting defeat. They would have saved themselves so much time and money if they would have taken it there after the 2nd time I dropped it off. Dont get me wrong. I love the car and I dont mind the LT1 so much. However for the same amount of money that I am going to put in to this car in addition to what I already have in it, I can be on a much better platform for the same price.
-
Maybe I am looking in the wrong place but I can't seem to find a decent LS1 car in that price range that isnt beat to death or getting ready to blow up.

I agree with this. I spent 3,500 on the wife's engagement ring and then like 600 on the wedding band. It was all based on the diamond's though. As the quality of the diamond's went up then so did the cost. The setting was only about 600 of the total cost. I always said I would never spend that kind of money on a ring but I did anyways and I am glad that I did. My ring was 500. She has a banging ass ring and she gets compliments almost every day. That makes her feel good so I did my job. A friend of mine bought his wifes engagement ring from a pawn shop ,even though he can afford a way better ring and 3 years later he has never stopped hearing about it.

I did this also. Try Stern Jewlers on High St. and ask for Grace, she is the owner. They are family friends. Its an old school jewlry store but they are awesome.

I agree. I think they should enforce it much more. In my opinion those slow drivers are more of a danger that some of the speeders. Not to mention the traffic congestion that they create. I wanna kill someone when I have to days of thunder 20 fricken cars only to get to the front and see those fuckers 4 wide at 65 mph with a half mile of empty road in front of them.

I will be honest. I really like Corvettes, but I have no interest in owning one of them for what I wanna do.

My car has several mods and I think the offer is a decent offer also. That would never happen. I have no interest in anything with the Ford logo on it. No offense if your a Ford guy. My car runs decent for what it is, 384 RWHP with cam, headers, some port work and a few other mods, nothing big. Here is the short list of what I wanna do with it, while keeping it on pumped gas and street driven Forged 383 AI Heads, intake and cam N2O McCleod twin disk clutch Tick master and slave cylinders Tick stage 2 kit in trans Moser 9" BMR k member and all the suspension QA1's on all 4 corners. 8 point cage Not to mention all the stuff that needs to go with it to get each of these acomplished

This year I drove the Camaro whenever the weather was nice, so yeah its somewhat of a DD but I dont need it to be since I have the VW that is my real DD. Even id I go to an LS1 car, that will be driven on the street more than at the track, which are my plans for the LT1 anyways. And good point on the VW. The mods on it are gonna be more like a grandish.

Ok so I have been putting a lot of thought in to my car situation and here is how I am viewing my options. What would you guys do? And try to put your hatred for LT1's out of teh equation if possible. Keep my 95 Z28 LT1 M6 car - Spend the 10 grand slowly over the next year and a half to 2 years to get the car where I envision it. Have fun all next year with it while I slowly build the car. Sell the 95 Z28. I have an offer for $5,500 - Save another 7 or 8 grand over the course of 2012 and buy an LS1 Camaro with most of the stuff done to it that I wanted to do to the 95. This will leave me with nothing but the DD's through 2012 and maybe the beginning of 2013. Sell the 95 and put 3k in the VW and get that extra 100 hp and have fun with that while saving 8 - 10 grand until I can afford an LS1 car. Prob the end of 2013 if I do this.

Welcome and nice car. It should fly

Technically you can get a ticket. Impeeding the flow of traffic is a ticketable offense regardless of the speed at which people are traveling.

I was flipping out on my way in to work this morning. It seemed like everyone was going slow in the fast lane. Ok I understand its raining but 60 mph in the fast lane is unaceptable. MOVE THE FUCK OVER.

We are gonna get dumped on the 1st 1/4 of 2012

IS it Brandon? He went for a ride with me today and it was the first time I was able to get someone to admit there was something wrong with it. He put me in a loaner and said he would get me taken care of. He is actually the first person I have talked to who is not trying to BS me. We talked about racing the whole time we were on a test drive .

Not sure how this happened but OK. Obama, Ron Paul, Newt
-
Stop it NOW :gabe: The wifey and I already made a deal. PLus I forgot to add the VW work.
-
I doubt we will get to go anywhere next year year. I have to replace the carpet in our entire house, buy a new A/C unit for the house and build the Camaro. We will probably go somewhere for 2013.

At this point I dont understand why they wouldnt have a more senior tech or a more senior tech from another Carmax look at it. Hell even take it over to MAG. They are losing money everytime I bring it back in. From a business standpoint it just does not make sense. Its a good thing they dont pay their techs flat rate.
-
Thats my thought. I am pretty sure they make you pay a transfer fee if you get something from out of state. Plus I dont know how I feel about agreeing to buy something that I have not had the chance to see in person and drive. I'm not sure how that all works though. I will ask, maybe they will eat the cost of the transfer due to what I have been through already.

I have to go get my plates transferred in the morning. If I get up early enough then I will be there.
