  1. And here's a crazy fuck that rode these things. https://www.popsci.com/blog-network/vintage-space/john-paul-stapp-real-life-rocket-sled-man/ When the cloud broke, the test was on. The nine rockets behind Stapp came to life. In five seconds he reached 632 miles per hour, which is about Mach 0.9. Kittinger watched at the sled outstripped his T-33. Almost as suddenly as it started, the run ended. From the moment the scoops first dug into the water, it took just 1.4 seconds for the sled to come to a complete stop. This rapid deceleration translated to more than 40 Gs, making Stapp momentarily weigh 6,800 pounds as his body slammed forward. The force of the stop was the same that a driver would feel smashing into a brick wall at 120 miles per hour.
  2. Holy shit that green Chevelle has zero clearance between the power brake booster and the valve cover
  3. Shouldn't that read "Ricart is getting into the t-shirt business"?
  4. Oddly enough I just saw one of these yesterday here in London but it was white. Noce looking car I'm sure it will be perfect for cruising.
  5. Man they have some pretty cool rides but did you see how far that traffic was backed up? Man I'd be pissed if I was stuck in that.
  6. If you want to learn about some of the ups and downs of the early space race and the family life these folks led I recommend Flight by Chris Kraft https://www.amazon.com/Flight-My-Life-Mission-Control/dp/0525945717 Failure is not an option by Gene Kranz https://www.amazon.com/Failure-Not-Option-Mission-Control/dp/1439148813/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_14_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=30KAMV6RNREE0NCQH692 Both can also teach you a thing or two about what being a good leader is, which is something the world seems to be lacking anymore
  7. I've always loved the looks of the 928, keep us updated on your progress
  8. Did this car used to be gold in color? I remember a 67/68 Camaro running around Columbus with a Reher Morrison big block in it back in the 90's
  9. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of those choices
  10. There used to be a gas station off of 23 on the north side I believe that would keep track of people's times around 270, not sure what the winner got but I always thought that was pretty cool. It would be interesting to see now what some of the faster times were
  11. Maybe that's what he'll call the used car area. Lol
  12. I'm surprised they don't have some kind of a on board fire extinguisher on those things, or at the very least an extinguisher mounted somewhere.
  13. Ive got a nice edlebrock performer intake for a Ford 460 for sale that I have no use for. I'll even throw a windage tray in for the same motor if you're interested. Intake sells new for $300 I'd like to get $200 out of it, pm me here with your number and I'll text you some pics of it.
  14. Apparently the owners of the old Cooper satdium property are cool with it but only for sanctioned events. As in you can't just stop by whenever you want. I expect this to be a total disaster of epic proportions. But it would be cool if they can pull it off.
  15. So am I the only one that's seen this? Seems like it could be cool if they keep it under control.
  16. I sat on a Tenere last fall and fell in love with it, now I just have to come up with the money to get one. I want a newer one with the cruise control and I believe updated flywheel. Amazing bikes that come with a lot for the money.
  17. What? Physics has no effect on billionaires! Lol

    Aviation

I agree that starting out at 40 is going to be tough. If I remember correctly at 60 the FAA starts making it difficult to maintain your medical for your license. For an airline pilot you need a class 1, if you just want to fly for fun with your private pilot license you'll need a class 3 which is a lot easier or if you get your sport pilot license all you need to be able to to is maintain your driver's license but your limited to flying in the daytime and I believe 120 horsepower. It's very rewarding, and a hell of a lot of fun but the easiest and cheapest way to get your commercial hours built up is the military and it's a little late for that now. I haven't flown in almost 10 years because it's just to expensive for a hobby but I had a whole different mindset than you do. I never intended to go the commercial pilot route, I like low and slow flying and had, well still have plans for building my own aircraft someday. Also if you can make it try to go to the EAA's airshow this summer in Oshkosh Wisconsin, it's a week long show that really gives you a taste of all that aviation has to offer. You might also consider checking out the AOPA and or the EAA for other resources
  19. That's funny I love the big bumper Camaros, of course I love mustang II's also so I may be a little fucked up in the head. Lol
  20. Bump, are these prices too high or is nobody interested in bb Ford parts??
  21. Really, if you work for Hobby Lobby you can't go to CVS and pick up a box of condoms? He said it readily available not that it's free.
  22. I believe you are 100% underestimating the amount of ignorance in the world. We have people strapping bombs to their bodies in the name of religion, you don't think that introducing an intelligent alien lifeform that could have yet another form of religion to the mix will cause some unrest in the masses?
  23. This all came as a package that I bought and was going to build for my Thunderbird but I sold the Thunderbird and want this stuff gone. https://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/d/ford-c6-transmission/6431856977.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/d/ford-bb460-intake-manifold/6431856830.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/d/ford-bb-460-heads/6431856657.html CAR process are $150 for the intake manifold $150 for the transmission $500 for the heads If you wanted more pics or have question pm on here.
