    Well, the gear is the issue, but even with a small gear, these cars make too much to take the full mile. Most of them will be blown up at the 1/2 mile mark. The motor can't take an abuse of 1500+ whp for a full mile. The point of the story is that these cars are not standing mile cars.

    There is a bunch of them. Dave Hance went 6.90 on drag radials with no wheelie bars. There is a new edge Saleen running 7.60's all day on drag radials. I'm lazy to look for the videos.
