  1. Car has been raced with the 'stock-ish' motor and with a 400whp motor. Car has all the right go-fast parts on it. You couldn't buy the upgrades and spares for 2x the money. Then you'd still need a clean shell to build. This car belongs to a friend of mine. I've seen it from original build to now. It really is a well done car! I can't believe he priced it this low!!! I hope someone buys of soon so I don't keep thnking about it!!!!!

  4. No they got the 12k total in their pocket. The almost 5k is what the insurance company felt they deserved for their pain and suffering.

The rest of the 12k came from what their doctors expenses were, but they got to pocket that money as well because they had good health insurance that paid the majority of it. He walked away with the 12k in pockets.

Until the health insurance company figures out the injury was caused by an auto accident. They will want reimbursed for any money they paid out for the claim since the auto insurance should cover the medical... I don't know how long the insurance company has to come back on 'you' for reimbursement, but I'd look into it if I were them.

  5. Wouldn't be a Dell GX270 would it? Had a stack of these and the caps on the motherboard were defective and caused the USB ports to not work. Could be a hardware problem. I'm guessing you've checked the device manager and the BIOS to make sure everything looks good? If so, I'd crack the case and look at the motherboard - look for bloated or exploded caps... Good luck!
  6. Glock 22. About 300 rounds thru it from new. Gun, 2 x 15 rd. mags, case... $450.00 Just need to ensure Ohio license (no copy needed, just confirm resident and age).

How does $425 sound? Found something I'd like to have... :)

  7. No, it's ideas like that which make people without kids pay a fortune for those that choose to have them, and kill the budgets of seniors on fixed incomes that have to pay for these kids too. Do you feel good when another senior has to sell their paid off home because they simply can't afford the heavy property tax increases caused by school levies over the years?

Simple solution - forced taxation on those with school aged children. You choose to have kids, you are forced to pay for them. It's called personal responsibility, and a way to discourage idiots from having a pile of kids they won't properly care for.

Sure - just create a living area with no schools. Because everyone benefits from the housing market pricing all due to the school district... You can buy the same model house in Dublin or Columbus. Same size lot, same everything but school district - which one will cost a TON more? Then there is the issue of education for youth - who will turn into adults and keep this country going, but that is another conversation.

And Parents who are against spanking because they handle their own dicipline, don't need to worry about this. If you are a 'good parent', your kid will not need to worry about this. It is the kids with parents who don't care or the kids that are truely 'problem children'...

  8. Lemon Laws vary by state, but usually only apply to new car purchase. When you buy a used car as-is, that is what you get... AS-IS. I've used the lemon law to return a defective minivan (1996) but that is my only exposure to the lemon law.
  9. I was thinking more along the lines of:

I'd lean towards the riskier start up if I only had myself to take care of and towards the local safer option if I needed security for a family.

+1! I've got a wife and kids in highschool and jr. high. Stable is what I'm 'in' for, but if I was single - heck yea - take the risk and see what happens. Rewards could be life changing when you get into a company pre-IPO and get in on the action. I've had friends do just that. I've seen it go both ways - from nothing and the company barely survuves to the opposite and everyone makes bank!

Good luck to you and your decision! Life changes are never easy choices. I'm happy for you that you've got 2 companies willing to give you an offer - consider yourself very fortunate to have that shtuation in these economic times! :)

  10. WTF???? Cool idea, but why spend millions to go vertical when we have acres and acres around Central OH that would be a heck of a lot cheaper to farm?

Location, Location, Location! On I70 - Minutes from downtown - This really is the perfect location for this to be built. From what I've heard, there will NOT be a drag strip at the facility. The infomation I have shows it to be a top notch facility and could be just what that area needs to 'kick start' the area economy!

  11. even on a side work, you can file for a title . i did this with a dirt bike several years ago. kid went to big boy prison for a long time, parents wouldnt hand over the title. i filed a lien on it, and they got letters. they in turn tired to sue me for stealing the bike. i laughed, we had our day in court, and i got awarded the title. but this is the only thing, if the guy doing this didnt file for the title, i know the rules change if he didnt.

You are correct about being able to file for title even on side work. The issus is if you haven't claimed any of the $ from doing side work, or don't have a corporation (llc) setup, you can open yourself up to 'other' issues...

Situation stinks for everyone involved - good luck working it out.

  12. This gets sticky if the work was 'on the side'. Without a real business to file a mechanic's lien and if nothing is reported on personal taxes for the 'hobby', this is not as easy as it sounds.

In court, this turns into a 'friend' with property belonging to someone else. That friend sold the property and doesn't want to give the money to the estate (or family) of the actual owner of the property. Without a written agreement (both people) stating payment or storage reimbursement... You see where I'm going. Just my .02¢

Good luck to your friend. Sounds like a bad situation all around.

  13. 100X better than before. A+ for effort! It was 'not bad'! That said, good thing it was $5.99 for a 2 topping medium. I wouldn't call it 'quality' pie, but for the price, at least I could eat it. (unlike the 'old' crap they tried to pass off as pie!) :)

Too many other pizza joints in Picktown for me settle for good. And when Grapevine is right next door, I don't know how Domino's stays in business...
