Here is the problem. When in OD (Automatic tranny), 1993 LX Thunderbird Coupe with a 302. When in OD, it shifts at 22-2500 even when petal is floored. Then when it would shift into 4th or OD, it goes into Neutral. When in Drive (1-3) it does the same shifting thing. Car has 159xxx on it. Original Fluid. Think changing it might help?

Go to a muffler shop, buy a universal muffler, then get it custom welded up, 3.0 if you have forced induction, 2.5 if not.

Joel, Firebirds do have 3800/5spd, but they are RWD. I wonder how a Cavalier 5spd will handle the added torque of a 3.8?

There is that big S Curve on Polaris heading towards 23, Past waterbeds. Speed limit is 45, Slowest car on there probably averages 60. 4 Cops out there this morning. I was actually doing 45 this morning for some odd reason, in left lane, then some soccer mom got all pissed off at me for going so slow, was even honking!! Passed me and about 30 sec later, I look over and she is getting a ticket! Becareful, Labor day and the end of the month, cops will be everywhere.
