Local sale down here in Lancaster. A guy cleaning out his collection. I got the hastings barrel with leupold scope, a hard case, fiber optic sights, and some shot/slugs for 650 cash. Not too bad considering the gun goes for that, let alone the 300 dollar barrel and 200 dollar scope, with x amount in accessories. I'm stoked. =)

Yeah, I wanted to get something I could enjoy, that was versatile. . . and something that would keep me into the sport...rather than the cheapest gun I could find.

Well after much research and looking over tons and tons of shotguns, I finally went with a 1992 NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation) Gun of the Year edition Remington 11-87 SP. It has seen very minimal use in it's 16 years, as I picked it up from a private seller who bought it new and only used it a few seasons. With it I picked up a hastings fully rifled 24" slug barrel with a leupold scope for deer season, and it's already got a 21" turkey barrel with modified turkey choke. Everytime I see a mastiff I just go WOW. . . those things are like mini-bears. Personally I'd be afraid they'd freak out and eat me in my sleep one night. But they are very beautiful dogs.

Yeah man, hes gonna make someone a great pet. I'm negotiable on the price, I just want to get him in a good home. That and my wife is pissed that I bought him and put so much money into him without consulting her, tee-hee.

Can I get the 870 in a synthetic all black? Cause the ones I've seen are really cheap looking wood finish which I really don't like. And by wingmaster I meant they are supposedly made a bit more high quality than the express version, both in stock and barrel makeup. However my research could be completely inaccurate, as I'm new to the game. If you want to do this evan, come down to Lancaster and go to the gun shop here. . it's HUGE!! Spend 400 bucks on me a setup, and the ps3 with games and accessories is yours. =)

If I wanted to spend that kinda money I wouldn't be doing the swap. I have a lot invested in this setup and feel it's every bit worth a good used shotgun of the wingmaster calibur. I'd be satisfied even with a really nice mossberg 930 combo.

I was hoping for a good used wingmaster or something to that effect. . . as I could just sell the ps3 and get an 870 express for cheap with money left over. Unless you wanna buy me a wingmaster

Also willing to sell this setup for 450. I should also say that these are easy to get money for on CL or ebay. . . . a lot easier than getting rid of a gun if ya need money =) Or just great for movies/games.

I'm just gonna buy a cheap express . . . ya guys talked me into it.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'm gonna go try out a moss 500 and rem 870 express and see which one I like best. . . and go from there. I'm not too fond of the semi-auto shotgun idea.. . for reliability purposes. Thanks again for the input guys!

Getting into hunting. . . would like a nice used 12 gauge. Single or pump is fine. Lemme know if you have anything for me! =)

I'm at that point in my life where I'm all out of hobby ideas and want to get into gun collecting / hunting. As a youth I went hunting every other year with my uncles but haven't been since about the age of 17, and really don't know much about it regardless. My question is what are some good local resources for hunting, I've read through wildohio.com . . . . good info there. And what are the best types of rifles to use when hunting, 12ga for deer? 22ga for small game? Would just like some local opinions. . . I also have 40 acres in southern ohio I'm going to use for hunting if someone wants to team up with me to show me the ropes come December for deer.
