Do a side by side comparison of them. I'm not hating on them, I just think they get waaaay overhyped. And yes, I have shot both. Both shoot just fine, but there is an obvious difference in quality.

Ok, here is my serious thought on it. It will continue to accelerate, however, it's rate of acceleration will decrease (i.e. 10m/s^2, 8m/s^2, 6m/s^2, 4m/s^2, etc...) until it's rate of acceleration equals zero. At that point, it will begin to decelerate, and it's rate of decleration will begin to increase. I think...........?

If it's windy, that just means he'll have to get better at adjusting for it. From everything I've read though, the max effective range of .223 is 600-650m (660-710yd.) Hell, adjustable irons are good to like 600yd. Again, I'd probably go with .308 as the better choice, but, .223 can do it as well, just with more finesse. Oh, and .45/70 is only good for like 200yd. Though, on that note, a Marlin 1897XLR is on my list of cool shit to buy.
