  1. Yea, I realize there is an obvious bias depending on where the poll is placed. I guess I just generally thought of ABC as being a left-swinging organization and expected the poll to reflect that. I also agree with you that there is also a (most likely short-term) shift towards more gun control as a result of this event. My hopes are that the politicians drag their feet on the issue long enough for most folks to lose interest in the subject, or that something else happens in the news to distract from the subject.
  2. Because based on what I am hearing (CNN....), it sounds as though the majority of people are FOR an AWB. This poll states otherwise.
  3. I would LOVE to go to this and lay down some wisdom, but, I'll be stuck at work tonight. Edit - Take a look at the poll on that page. I'm surprised it's going the way it is...
  4. I would agree. Complete wrong way to go about it. Guy still made a point, however.
  5. http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/12/sandy-hook-elementary-man-walks-into-school-with-2x4-83271.html Seriously? Not even a week after and we still can't get it right? For fuck's sake. :dumb:
  6. Because then the Libs would have no one to vote for them. :gabe:
  7. Right before he sweeps the legs right out from under a multi-billion dollar industry. Here's a thought I wouldn't be particularly opposed to: -Tax firearm sales and put that money towards preventing these situations in the future.
  8. I always wonder how they came up with that arbitrary number of '10' as being the limit on how many bullets one can have loaded up at a time? 10 dead kids is OK, but 11 is too much? :dumb:
  9. Why can people not see that an AWB only affects law abiding citizens? The kid stole them, plain and simple. How would this have stopped him? America is lazy and is looking for a quick and simple solution, like we always seem to do. The easy out appears to be an AWB because then the citizens will feel like they truly did something about the situation and they get that instant warm and fuzzy gratification that comes along with it. In the end, nothing will change, and those who have already settled on committing mass murder aren't going to give a damn about breaking a measly AWB law as well.
  10. Just how many deaths are acceptable during one of these shootings?
  11. Nobody. I'm a fan of MAD between the government (tinfoil hat on) and the common citizen. Giving firearms to any one group is a bad idea, IMO, as that group is bound to eventually exploit their dominance.
  12. Government included? Absolutely. So long as their ordnance disappeared as well. As long as they have them, I feel we should as well. If they give up theirs, I will give up mine.
  13. BRB. Going to buy some not-even-made-in-the-USA heroin.
  14. Spoons only belong in the hands of registered dieticians for they are the only ones who have had proper training on how to safely use them. Spoons are killing far too many people.
  15. signed. IB4theycomeknockingonmydoor
  16. What exactly constitutes a LARGE gun collection? And what exactly is the clinical definition of a weirdo? Personally, I feel that I have a fairly large collection, yet, I do not consider myself to be a 'weirdo'. I've also saved more lives that you ever have or will; definitely more than the 27 that recently died during this tragedy. Please let me know if this also makes me a weirdo as I am honestly not sure.
