  1. A few thoughts:

-I am liking my Notre Dame > B12 bet less now that Stanford lost. Though I still think the B12 ends up canceling itself out with cannibalism.

-Pac12's chance at playoff look effectively dead at this point.

-if Notre Dame gets in, that is sort of like 2 ACC teams getting in - which just seems kind of absurd

-speaking of the ACC, North Carolina looks pretty good.

-speaking of looking pretty good, I like Iowa's uniforms.

-I only watched the first half of the OU-Baylor game, but man it was very chippy. It seemed clear that those teams did not like each other. Baylor comes across as kind of thuggish. Easy for me to not like them.

-Oklahoma State is going to get clobbered by Oklahoma, and then B12 will be left in same situation again this year: it's best teams all have 1 loss.

    - Indiana, those guys cannot seem to win a close one.

  2. Moved again, eh? No worries...I hate writing mortgages anyways ;)

Tilley in the 'country'? This is a phenomenon I am having trouple picturing! Congratulations...post pictures!

    -Marc

Totally country, bro. Straight farming it. Well, sort of. There is a lot of corn. And really mediocre internet service. Two acres, which is really not much at all but coming from Victorian Village it seems like a ranch.

  3. I mentioned the B12 teams' rankings dropping as a result of the round robin in my first post about it. But let's show an example here and it's the scenario I find most likely if any B12 team is going to make it out alive...

Oklahoma State is the eventual undefeated team here so here's what happens...

This weekend Oklahoma beats Baylor. This drops Baylor somewhere just inside the top 15 and moves Oklahoma into the top 10. TCU and Oklahoma State beat their cupcakes and we move to the next week with Oklahoma State around the 6-7 range, Oklahoma in the top 10, TCU and Baylor somewhere between 12-15.

Next weekend Oklahoma State beats top 15 Baylor. Oklahoma beats top 15 TCU. Oklahoma State lands somewhere in the 5-7 range, Oklahoma stays in the top 10, Baylor and TCU are still hovering inside the top 20.

The next weekend top 6 Oklahoma State beats top 10 Oklahoma in what will be the B12 title game. Baylor and TCU play each other so maybe one drops out of the rankings (as I said was possible), maybe they both get to stick around.

So with all the losses accounted for, at worst, as I said, Oklahoma State still ends up with at least 2 wins over ranked opponents as an undefeated P5 conference champion.

Now that I wasted my time explaining that Oklahoma State will lose to Iowa State this weekend and TCU will lose to Kansas and then the B12 will truly be doomed.

However, if things play out the way you just described:

-Baylor isn't hanging around in the rankings after two consecutive loses. Hell, they are undefeated and beating everyone by 100 and the committee doesn't even have them top 5. First chance the committee gets, Baylor is getting tossed. Thus, anyone beating Baylor is automatically devalued.

-when Oklahoma beats TCU, that's the second loss in three weeks for TCU. Guess what happens to TCU? The committee - which already kind of hates them and all the B12 - banishes them as well. Byeeeeeeeeee horned froggieeeeeeesssssss

-then when Oklahoma losses to Ok State, guess who has two losses? Yup, Oklahoma. With the other loss being to a dismal Texas team.

So, you have the undefeated champion Oklahoma State, but all other teams with at least two losses in B12. I don't see how that resume bumps Oklahoma up over that 6th spot ranking. I think they just languish there, a victim of the B12's mediocrity.

Again, I hope I'm wrong and they leapfrog ND. But I don't think I will be.

  4. So Navy becomes ranked and Temple remains ranked... that's 3 wins over ranked opponents (same number an undefeated Baylor or Oklahoma State would have but 2 of ND's 3 would be against barely ranked G5 teams) for ND but still a loss and no conference championship.

One thing I can't deny ND having over either B12 school is the overall SOS. But if a B12 school can rise up and beat the best on their schedule (Baylor's remaining SOS is like 4th in the country, Oklahoma State's is probably somewhere in the top 20 since they already got TCU out of the way this past weekend) while winning an outright P5 conference title? Hard to keep them out.

But all the B12 teams that lose are going to be dropped in the rankings. So, you'll either have:

Everyone beating everyone else round-robin style, which means they all suck; or

One team beating the rest of the teams, which means the teams that lost suck and the team that beat them really isn't all that good.

Also, technically, I think Oklahoma has the highest remaining SOS. However, that's misleading, because by the season's end those teams won't be ranked as high.

    B12 is doomed, I think.

And this coming from someone who would love it for ND to be locked out of playoff. I hate them and think they should join a conference.

  5. I'll bet you an entree plus a beer at Quaker steak that any if any of the remaining B12 teams stay undefeated that they will get in over a 1 loss ND.

    Bet is off if:

    No B12 team stays undefeated

    ND loses another game

Neither a 1 loss ND or undefeated B12 get in

    Sounds good, deal.

  6. Ok, a basic description will suffice. I know I'm being picky, but kinda pointless for me to drive 40-45min round trip if it won't work.

I'll help. Does the coffee table have a bottom or just a top with legs (like a tiny kitchen table)? I'm looking for the latter.

Yeah, I totally understand what you mean, and I'm sorry that I don't have pics.

Yes, I believe it does have a bottom, like this one (click the link). However, the one I have doesn't look like this one pictured. Rather, mine is a bit lighter wood and it's more rounded. Still a rectangle shape, though.

I hope this helps. Let me know if it doesn't.

My only gripe with nd vs Clemson rematch and Ohio state Bama rematch is its to much like 2011 and the lsu/ Bama game and then NCG. It was boring and people don't want to see two teams play each other again unless it's a NCG. A Clemson vs (Bama)Ohio state notre dame vs Bama(OSU) would be a much better semi final which would set up the NCG as a rematch that matters. A rematch of the sugar bowl last year would be epic and both teams would be perennial powerhouses.

Bama is going to lose to Auburn so you can stop fretting over it.

  8. I think if Baylor or Oklahoma State made it through the Big 12 unscathed they'd find a way in. Even Oklahoma could if they got a little help.

    Baylor's remaining games - #12 Oklahoma, #8 Oklahoma State, #15 TCU, Texas

Oklahoma State's remaining games - ISU, #6 Baylor, #12 Oklahoma

    Oklahoma's remaining games - #6 Baylor, #15 TCU, #8 Oklahoma State

Who are you going to bump from the current 4 if those current 4 win out?

Not Clemson, who is a solid lock at #1, has the best eye test resume, and has the best win currently (over current #4).

Not Alabama, who is sitting at #2, looks really good on paper and according to the eye, just pasted the #4 team, and will end up beating a (likely) high ranked Florida.

Not Ohio State, which, as you've pointed out, will go through a pretty difficult schedule to end the season.

And not Notre Dame, which, quite frankly, probably has the best resume of any team out there. Their win against Navy is looking better and better with each week, and especially after Navy smoked an undefeated (and media Cinderella/darling) Memphis. They also handled Temple and USC. Their only loss came to the #1 team at the #1 team's stadium in a hurricane. Given that resume, and the intangibles (Notre Dame is a cashcow up there along with Ohio State and Texas), I don't see Notre Dame getting jumped by anyone in the B12.

Jive is on to something: Clemson vs. Notre Dame rematch in first semifinal, Ohio State vs. Bama rematch in other semifinal, and then the championship game (regardless of which two teams it is) would break all kinds of ratings records.

  9. UNC is playing pretty well right now. They could upset Clemson. That early loss against SCar is VaTech-esque.

If Clemson wins out, they are in.

If Notre Dame wins out, they are in.

If Ohio State wins out, they are in.

If Alabama wins out, they are in.

I do not see any other team displacing any of those four teams if those four teams win out.

The B12 is either going to cannibalize each other OR if one team wins out (Ok State, Baylor, or Oklahoma, take your pick), it will just create the impression that all the other teams in the B12 were over-ranked and over-valued. Meaning, I think the B12 is doomed regardless of what they do. Also, them not having a championship game also hurts their cause.

If Iowa wins out, I think Iowa takes Ohio State's spot, provided Ohio State makes it to B10 title game.

If Ohio State loses to either Michigan or MSU, then all locks for B10 in playoff are off. Meaning, Ohio State has to make it to title game for a B10 team to make it into the playoff. That team will either be Ohio State or Iowa. Michigan State would have an outside chance of making the playoff if it beats Ohio State and then an undefeated, highly ranked Iowa.

Stanford will take Notre Dame's spot if they beat Notre Dame and then win the Pac12.

If Clemson loses, then I think it opens the door for a B12 team. If Clemson loses, then I think the ACC gets shut out of playoff.

The only team from the SEC other than Alabama that can make the playoff is Florida. I think Florida takes Alabama's spot if Florida wins out and beats Bama in title game.

  10. Pic of the coffee table, plz. Thank you.

Edit: Can't believe I got through this post without a single sarcastic remark.

I don't have a pic of the coffee table. I tried searching for one that looks like mine, and couldn't find anything that looks like it. So, you'll just have to use your imagination: picture a pretty plain coffee table that someone you kind of know is selling for $10. As your mental picture becomes clearer, you realize that this cannot be the greatest coffee table ever constructed, as it's only $10. Namaste

  11. So serious question...no chairs for the table? Lol...not being a dick, just can't tell from your post about chairs (I do want the limes, too).

Nice ass couch, if I didn't just buy a new one I'd pick that up for sure.

No chairs with the table, no. You will have to provide your own chairs for this table. Or stand and eat, which might be a nice way of burning off some of those excess calories, you fatty.

  12. I just remembered (Steve posting reminded me):

I have two window-mounted air condition units for sale. I updated the OP. They are both in really good condition. Neither is more than like 18 months old, if I am not mistaken. They both look like this:

    http://www.hvac.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Window-Air-Conditioner1.jpg

$50 each. I will sell you each of the arms for $1,000,000 or $3,000,000 for all four of them. The fake Rolex being worn awkwardly by one of the arms is priceless and thus not for sale.
