  1. I'm inclined to agree, it's going to be a difficult sell if Oklahoma beats Texas. For one, Oklahoma's loss is much, much better than ours. They lost on a last second field goal to a blue blood ranked team in a rivalry game. Ohio State got manhandled by a basketball school. Oh, and BTW, Oklahoma will have avenged its only loss. It also doesn't help that Oklahoma is a blue blood with a strong national following. Granted, it's not like Ohio State's, so we'd get the money nod, but still, it's not like it's Ohio State vs. TCU when there really was no comparison with respect how much money can be brought in. If Oklahoma wins, Ohio State will have to absolutely throttle Northwestern to have any shot of making the 4th slot. The playoff rankings should have Oklahoma 5 and Ohio State 6, so they'll have position on us. The only way we leapfrog is with a decimation of Northwestern and hope that Oklahoma either looks weak or looks characteristically porous on defense. That way, Ohio State can claim to be playing better football currently, or, in other words, be favored through the "eye test." And people will have to give Oklahoma a hard way to go about sucking on defense. Meaning, the case will need to be made that Ohio State is the more "complete" team, is a much different team than it was just a couple of weeks ago, and is playing better than Oklahoma is currently (i.e., would be favored on a neutral field). This concludes my dissertation. Thank you to my dissertation committee your time. Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank my advisor, who has been a fantastic mentor and source of infinite knowledge through this process. Good day.
  2. Also, few more things for my Dear Diary: - who exactly has Clemson beaten this year? Texas AM and Syracuse? The ACC is a hot mess. - speaking of Texas AM, wtf is up with their 7 OT game last night with LSU? Good grief. At least LSU lost so that they won't complain when Ohio State leapfrogs them in playoff rankings. - thanks for nothing USC. I will now resume openly hating you (but still secretly loving you). - Ohio State fans started and "overrated" chant at yesterday's game. That's about dumb. No, you want to be like, "This team was so good and probably was even underrated, but we just managed to curbstomp them." Though, admittedly, that would be a much more difficult chant to manage at the Shoe.
  3. I'm currently in a 991 Turbo S. And I occasionally rock a 2016 Jetta when the weather doesn't allow me to drive the Porsche.
  4. Truck Stop Fabio Completely Average Running Back
  5. I realize this thread has again turned into my personal blog. Zero care. A lot of credit has to go to the lines on both sides of the ball. The much-maligned offensive line was really solid today. No sacks. The defensive line created havoc and dictated how things went. I'll put the team that showed up today against anyone. Might not win, but I'd like to see the game.
  6. Patterson's passing yards: 187 Ohio State's penalty yards: 150 A couple of times I thought, "Michigan might be netting more yards on penalties than in actual yards gained." I wasn't too far off, I guess.
  7. I thought he handled it about as well as could be expected given the outcome. And he nailed it - the speed plays really did them in.
  8. I've settled my debt to Forrest. $200 by Pay Pal as of about 2 minutes ago. He didn't elect for a strip club meet. However, my offer still stands to buy this thread a drink. Just let me know when and where.
  9. Ohio State spinsters need to start weaving the narrative: - played to level of competition - lost on road to bowl bound team that was playing its super bowl for a cancer stricken fan - hung histronic numbers on the best defense in college / winningest program in history of the sport - beat top 10 Penn State team on road in night game in most hostile road environment in the nation - Heisman candidate record breaking QB - playing up to potential now
  10. So tonight I get to embrace my secret love of USC. A Notre Dame loss, Alabama win over Georgia, and we win vs NW and I think we are comfortably into playoff (along with Oklahoma). If Notre Dame doesn’t lose we need Oklahoma to lose to Texas to be in (and Georgia has to lose to Bama). A Clemson upset to Pitt would be great too.
  11. Haha that makes me laugh and I don’t know why
  12. I bet every NFL scout in the stadium thought our pass coverage was A+ Those pass interference calls would just be second down incompletions in the NFL.
  13. You and me, same wavelength. Said the same thing to my wife. She ignored me; I think she was looking up tickets for the B10 championship game. She found great club level seats on Ohio State's sideline. Of course, she wasn't deterred by the price; rather, she didn't like that the game doesn't start until 8:17pm CST. She likes to be in bed by 10pm. I may divorce her.
  14. Totally agreed. I found myself very much annoyed at them regardless of which way they were calling it.
  15. Well, I was way, way wrong. Ohio State just straight torched Michigan. That was a beat down. Really can't say enough positives about Ohio State. The defensive line made Patterson's life miserable from the second quarter on. Minus the stupid Tategate series, Ohio State's offensive game planning was masterful. This team reminds me very much of the 2014 team - a harassing, fast defense and an offense that looks unstoppable. Olave - oh, hello, welcome to Ohio State lore. Malik Harrison - bro, when exactly did you start being shot out of a cannon? Please bring it with you to all future games. Haskins - not sure I have the words, so I won't try. Forrest, great bet, congrats - I don't know I've ever been so satisfied to lose $200. Let me know when you'd like to collect. I'll buy you a beer when you're next in town and invite the rest of the heathens in this thread for a drink as well.
  16. LOL, for real. That was a completely wasted trip in the red zone. These refs need targeted. Pics/vids or it didn't happen. If this result holds out, I'll pay you out at a strip club.
  17. I said the same thing to my wife. She agreed because she knows I am an expert at football.
  18. Correct, minus the fact that they were #1 in pass defense in the nation entering this game.
  19. Ohio State is running them ragged. Hopefully the 6 cheap points they gave up is a motivator to put their foot on Michigan's throat in the second half.
  20. Very pleased with how Ohio State is playing, minus the obvious (e.g., false start penalties, McCall muff). Haskins looks fantastic. Michigan looks lost on defense, especially in pass coverage. Watson might cut his wrists at halftime. The Clay Matthews wanna-be should be ejected for targeting. That was an obvious call and obviously missed by the refs. I'm annoyed with the refs ticky-tack fouls. Though, I suppose if they are going to call all those PI penalties, Ohio State might as well use it to their advantage like did on that last drive of the half. Tate, bro, jump pass, do it. Forrest, go the strip club. Ohio State is poised to make you a Saturday payday.
  21. We may need a new thread this one is glitchy
  22. This weather sucks. We should build a new stadium and it should be a dome. Keep some bricks or something from the original Ohio Stadium so all the bluehairs of the world don't cremate themselves but put a roof on it so weather isn't an issue. PURDUE - NEVER FORGET Sure, I'll bet you $200 that Michigan beats Ohio State. (That's about what 10 quarts of that would cost, correct?) This is a win-win for me; if I win the bet, then I win $200, but if I lose the bet then my team has won a game I didn't think we could or should win. Put it this way: if the God of Football walked up to me this morning and said, "You have great triceps, but listen that's not why I am here - if you pay me $200 I guarantee you that Ohio State will beat Michigan today," I am quickly paying that fee and considering it a bargain. So, let me know if we're on for $200.
