Damn I dont own cars very long, I'm on my 7th car in a little over 5 years of driving. I plan on keeping my Avant for a long time and doing the VR6-t swap

I think thats the problem, 7k is way to many miles between oil changes under severe driving conditions. I know they say it can go 6k or whatever but I personally change the oil every 2500-3k on my 1.8t with full synthetic to prevent these problems.

looks fixable but im sure insurance will total it. Wouldn't kill to buy it back and fix it cheap with salvage yard car parts.

I work on saab 9-7X (glorified trailblazers) all day long, they have had a million issues with them. Throttle bodies, diff leaks, headlight relays, trans leaks, tranny computers, liftgate modules, keys getting stuck in ignition, tire pressure monitors failing, oil pressure sensors... etc I can go on forever.... German autos > GM products
