  1. Great movie, own it on dvd as well and would love to see a remake.
  2. I get it when it comes to project cars and restorations, but 3 years of "yeah ill get it out this year, as soon as I do this, or fix that" and every time 1 thing gets fixed or finally upgraded something else comes up and it goes back in the garage.
  3. It's a 93 rx-7. It breaks because its a rotary and because its modified. I can't stand rotaries because of things like this. But he keeps defending it despite knowing the inherent problems with a car like this. I bought a Mustang because I knew I could have fun with it and not worry about it at all, and the stang has proven damn reliable despite the track abuse.
  4. I have friend with a car he's had for almost 3 years now. He's still making payments on it, and the car sits 99% of the time due to the car constantly needing repair or parts needing upgraded to match everything else so it can run reasonably. He already has a considerable investment in replacing the motor amongst many other things. Seriously, what is the point of owning a vehicle that you have to pay on, and can never drive because of the car constantly needing more things and continues to create new problems? After all he's been through with this car that can almost never be driven, and my constant efforts to talk some sense into he he holds steadfast. I just don't get it.
  5. I have the Evo and love it. It does more than I'll ever need it to and I chose it over the iPhone as the service is better and cheaper with much better coverage than at&t could dream of. Plus, 4G rocks! I'm I Dallas right now on a full 4G connection and it fast as hell.
  6. AJ, you buy back your old car?
  7. Rich, 130 wouldn't be bad except for the weenie car sized brakes on my car, despite the great pads and ducts to keep them cool they are just not enough for that track. Either I need a disposable car next year, a more capable car, or some serious upgrades to the Mustang! No Ariel Atoms though I saw signs for them, would love to finally see one in person.
  8. Yeah it's great, the only thing I'd like to see are a couple more key viewing areas, I like to go out and watch others in between my sessions to see how people take the different lines around the track.
  9. Rich, it is georgeous and a tough place. It's a bit hard to commit to places like turn 10 as it's completely blind and the back straight crest you are completely reliant on the corner station worker to make sure you have a clear track ahead there at 130+ mph!!
  10. I just made my first visit to VIR last weekend, what an amazing track!! It's far more challenging than Mid-Ohio though that will always be my home track. I can see why it was picked one of the top 5 road courses in America, with the large elevation changes, high speeds, and the climbing esses are just heaven!! I decided to run in HPDE 2 so I could receive some instruction on the line and work on adjustments to that and what to watch out for, well worth it as the group 2 has some good speed out there and just trying to take it all in at first was tough. Though I can get by with what I have at M-O this track was a lot to ask for with a near stock Mustang, the Carbotech pads held up well but with just the factory 11in brakes it was too much speed for them to haul the car down fast enough amd the suspension was overwhelmed at the approach to the roller coaster and the Hog pen with the elevation changes. Also the BFG all seasons are dying and forced me back onto the momentum line as I was plowing in some places and then the car wanted to do burnouts leaving turn 1 and 11 onto the back straight. I'll definitely be heading back there next year and hopefully I can get some folks to come with as it's just too much fun!! I have some updated pics in my albums and working on getting the video up soon.
  11. Very nice, I was there last weekend as well and noticed your cars there. What an amazing track and I need some serious upgrades before heading there again!
  12. What tracks have you actually been too??
  13. For you, Eleventy billion!! Not sure honestly, obviously split fuel and hotel and figure something for wear and tear. You'd need a booster seat with the Corbeau I have though!!
  14. I'm headed down for my first visit to VIR in October and was hoping maybe some others might be going as well. Could use someone to split a hotel room with to save some bucks and if you have some dough and are in HPDE 1 or 2 as I am in 3 now, I would be open to having someone driving that weekend as well to split some of the costs. Anyone here planning on going or wanting to go?? http://www.nasaracing.net/VIR_Oct_10/event.htm

    Big Ten Logo

Pretty interesting stuff. At first it sounded like the Big East was going to be raided, and maybe it will still happen. I personally like Nebraska joining the Big Ten though a lot of people I've talked to disagree. It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out with likely having to rename the conference and hopefully adding a conference championship to the mix.
  16. I've been super busy lately, I'm home right now but have a small dilemma in I have a free pass to Kings Island with some friends this sunday so I don't know what I'm going to do. I will not be able to make many events this year except for maybe 1 and the planned VIR in October and then the Mustang is done as a new car will be in the works for springtime.
  17. Fuck, if I had only gotten home sooner to see this I would have come.
  18. UPDATE There is a new registration site for registering for autocross, it isn't functional yet and it looks like this saturday's Test & Tune will likely all be walk-in registration due to that. As soon as it's functional I will let everyone know. I will not be around much this season so I will not be able to let people know what's going on all the time. Here is the site with all the info you'll need to join an autocross or PDX this summer: ovr.scca.org The OVR site has the schedule and all the info you'll need with links to the registration website as well as the OVR forum where any updates are posted so people know what's going on.
  19. From that number at the wheels it seems they might be a little underrated at 412hp??
  20. After having just been at the Chicago auto show Cbus can never compare and it was even smaller than usual. The highlight for me was working out in the hall spreading the word about the Cooper Stadium project, I talked to hundreds of people and almost all of them were in support of the project.
  21. Were meeting here: 120 Marconi Boulevard. Burnouts welcome and there's a light right at the intersection for digs!!
  22. It looks like a lot of fun. I have a feeling it's just something like some missing/loose bolts, needless to say it will get done properly this time unlike the monkey that had them installed before I got the car. Thanx for the replies. I'll post up when I'm ready to do this as I don't have the means to do so.
  23. I have a pretty bad exhaust leak at the manifolds on my car, it already had BBK longtubes on it when I purchased it. Problem is everyone I've talked to says the only way to tell what's wrong is to remove them and that's a bitch on these things. Anyone out there that's familiar with these things that might be able to help me figure out what's wrong at least? It may just be some loose bolts or something. Ben
  24. No surprise there!! I just saw an FC the other day that was very clean and clearly wasn't rotary powered by the sound of it, they're still around, you just have to look for them is all.
