  3. if your going to do a swap do the jdm f20b. http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30013 why? it's only 999 (or 1999 if you add the jdm tranny with lsd but you could use what you have now.) and it has the same 200hp as an h22(it does have slightly less tourqe),and on top of that it diffrent. the cheapest h22 is 1950.The most exspensive h22 swap is around 4k(all though it is the rarest and most power full at 220).I hear that h22's have weak trans,or at least the 96 plus usdm ones do http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30016 http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30019 You could pull a turbo setup for less then 1950 granted you knew what you were doing, and did alot of fab work yourself and have friends, but not for less then 999.99 unless you get inefficient parts or cheap chinese parts.I had a t25 powered f22 prelude and believe me it sucked balls because that turbo on that motor had no top end what so ever.It was cheap, but would I do it again? No unless I wanted to spend more on a better setup.
  4. read http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1983967 I like accords..they can be sleeper status if you know what your doing.Super strong cast closed deck block, and Lower compression then most civic motors and swaps. They can easily handle alot of horsepower and people are just starting to take advantage of f series motors.Check out http://www.bisimoto.com/ for parts as well,He currently holds the world record for fastest n/a honda sohc ,in the 9's with his parts tuning and carbs My favorite accord 612 whp at 25 psi, built h22 http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2132981
  5. Because they are completely diffrent.Thats why they look completely diffrent. This is what you need.. http://www.xenocron.com/catalog/ecu-conversion-harness-obd0-to-obd1-p-76.html http://www.xenocron.com/catalog/obd0-obd1-distributor-adapter-p-75.html an obd1 distributor some plugs from a junk harness (both vtec plugs and a 4 wire o2 sensor plug) 4 wire 02 sensor or for 190$ http://rywire.com/store/8891-crxcivic-sihfex-d16z6d15b-obd1-vtec-p-70.html?osCsid=a8d446728761261532596e1c78cc08a3 It comes with the dizzy adapter and all of the other wires you need to add vtec. If you want to save 50 bucks on the dizzy adapter go back to pick and pull and get me the two male dizzy plugs and your si female dizzy plugs and I'll make you one for free. I left you a post on your wtb thread about the plugs you need and the 02 sensor.
  6. I have all the obd1 plugs you need,The vtec solenoid plug, vtec oil pressure switch,4 wire male 02 sensor plug, and 4 wire 02 sensor. Thats going to be cheaper then buying a vtec obd1 harness to rape the parts from, and easier then trying to put the whole harness in the car, since you would need to repin everything and have the interior harness too since they wouldnt match if thats what you were thinking of.
  7. Are you looking for that for your mini me swap?
  8. Sorry, I checked and the one I have is the passenger side.
  9. let me check when I go to my moms house I might have one.If I do you can have it for free.
  10. Now before someone says I didn't search...I did with conflicting results.I got 7 pages of hits when I searched "machine shop" like these. on the first of the 7 pages http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37837&highlight=machine+shop on the last of the 7 pages http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6853&highlight=machine+shop Now in one thread you have everyone recomeding fowler, and in the other thread a bunch of people that have had problems with them.In the other thread you have a bunch of people recomending m&m and in the first thread a couple people that have had bad experiences with them. Those are just two examples there were a few more like that, plus there wasn't anything really import specific,or I couldn't find a phone number or website using google for any of the shops mentioned. So what I'm asking does anyone have any actual experience with any local shops that know imports.I need a honda block bored from 75 to 75.5mm,notched and a crank checked over, and possibly even assembly, depending on the pricing.
  11. Crome is good. It's what im using.Simple to learn on and easy to use. get an ostrich to use with it from moates.net.I don't have one and it sucks balls,do a pull stop the car, turn it off, pull the chip, make a change, burn the new chip, put it back in, turn the car back on, do another pull ,then repeat the whole process. With an ostrich you make a change while the cars running in real time and the car reacts to it.No stoping and pulling out the chip bullshit, but thats really on you if that ability is worth 200 extra dollars.Im cheap.
  12. The car also has polished springs lol Those two should start a club. The polished and chrome parts you can't normally see club.
  13. Thats also the problem..It's not what psi your motor can handle its what hp level. 10 psi on my t3/t4 is not the same as 10 psi on a dsm t25.At the same level those turbos will blow diffrent amounts of air,and produce diffrent amounts of horsepower,be at diffrent efficiency levels and have diffrent tuning needs. So whats high boost? Whats low boost? Motors can blow up on 5psi.Motors can blow up at 20 psi.It doesn't matter. It seems like your under the impression that if you run a low number nothing will happen because it's not doing as much.Im not trying to be an asshole but this is advice from someone whos done what your trying to do and who currently has sohc d16 turbo setup. edit. What are you going to tune it with even?
  14. NOT BY USING LOW COMP HEADGASKETS.There is a right and wrong way to do things. The only proper way on a honda to reduce compression is by using lower compression pistons.Did you read any of my other post lol? Low compression is not a joke.Low compression head gaskets are. recap for the non readers "GReddy and HKS also sell thick, 2mm (or sometimes thicker) headgaskets for the purpose of lowering the engines compression ratio for a turbo kit without spending money on special pistons. Although this is a cheap way to lower compression, it is not the best way to do so. A thicker head gasket is more likely to blow out, because there is more surface area around the bore for detonation pressure to impinge upon.A thick head gasket also makes the cylinder head's quench areas ineffective, increasing the propensity to detonate more than the suggested reduction of compression the head gaskets would seemingly indicate. An engine that has the compression ratio reduced to 8.5:1 via a thick headgasket may have a detonation threshold of a 9:1 compression engine due to the loss of quench." so you understand what that is saying right?
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-Honda-Civic-8000-MILES-Turbo-NOS-Lightning-Audio_W0QQitemZ190161523933QQihZ009QQcategoryZ6256QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 2001 civic buy it now 24,500
  16. 7500 is not bad at all for basically an srt4. I see someone picking that up. The rebuilt salvage title and odometer warning are what basically kills any value to most people.
  17. And the low comp head gaskets not going to help that.So just tune it GOOD and use the oem gasket
  18. If your him I saw you in person like 3 times since then and you never brought that up for some reason? I thought I paid you all of it back considering you junked the hatch or parted it out and made money off of that too and you paid me 200 or 300? or something like that for it...anyways pm me about it so we don't clutter up this kids post.
  19. Maybe thats a sign you shouldn't use one google searched honda low compression head gasket.Thats with around 2 mins of searching. The cometic site I sent you will have them, if it's not listed email or call them and ask them. http://inlinepro.com/ http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1687449&page=16 There are tons more. You also need an aftermarket cam gear to re adjust the timing with those. In all seriousness going off of the price of the inlinepro 200 dollar gasket, add a 50-60 dollar cam gear and additional tuning thats alot of money for something thats not going to do much but give you a false sense of saftey. (see my other post) Really just get an oem or stock equivalent and find a good tuner. 40 bucks to majestic honda for an oem honda head gasket is a steal. There are tons of ppl with turbo mini-me's runing around without low comp head gaskets, but tuning is the key.
  20. your crazy lol... Which gasket oem,low comp or what? regular old metal head gasket-autozone cometic regular or low comp-straight from them http://www.cometic.com/sportcompact.aspx oem- http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Civic&catcgry2=1992&catcgry3=3DR+SI&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=CYLINDER+HEAD+%282%29
  21. That's why you should just use the a6 head.Lower compression head gaskets suck for us Tons of post on why they suck http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=715124 http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2039783 http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0104scc_engine_work/index.html quote from the sport compact car article "GReddy and HKS also sell thick, 2mm (or sometimes thicker) headgaskets for the purpose of lowering the engines compression ratio for a turbo kit without spending money on special pistons. An engine that has the compression ratio reduced to 8.5:1 via a thick headgasket may have a detonation threshold of a 9:1 compression engine due to the loss of quench." so either.... A) just get an oem or whatever gasket and get a GOOD reputable tuner not some guy you know who tunes (a good tuner knows what needs to be done to work with the extra compression) B) lower comp pistons (vitaras, but then you might as well do rods, supposedly z6 pistons lower it a point as well but I have no actual expirence with that but its in an article I posted earlier) C) use the a6 head and be done with it. If you really want the added flow of the vtec head a small cheap port job would have the same effect. The reason people with mini-me's even get SLIGHTLY higher hp has less to do with the vtec and more to do with the added full point of compression, which you dont want. What other parts are you looking for Im getting rid of a ton of stuff (boost controller.vacuum manifold, motorola map sensors, etc etc) and I know good sites with good prices
  22. mini me=usdm sohc 1.5 or obd2 1.6 non vtec block with a vtec head... http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/z6swap/z6swap.html http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/moreminime/moreminime.html http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=635580 ANyways really who cares? It's just a term. is it d-series picture time lol? http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f118/cbuscivictuner/recentblackvc1.jpg my pile but its going under the knife and into a diffrent shell now (thats why I said ask me if you need any help)
