How's the distributor gear look? They are generally bronze or a softer metal and are meant to be destroyed instead of the cam gear.

2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Z71 with 134k on the clock. Oil has been changed regularly with mobil1 and Valvoline full synthetic. Rear end was rebuilt last fall as well as new u-joints. Inner tie rods, idler arm and pitman arm were done last winter as well as the alternator summer 09. It has a magnaflow muffler, BFG All terrains, billet grill and weather tech floor mats. The bad is the valve body needs rebuilt due to the torque converter lockup slipping at times but it has been like this for the past year and a half with no real issue. Asking $10,500 o.b.o will accept partial trades but looking for the cash for payoff to cut down my bills and debt. Mainly surface rust

Car has 17x,000 miles on it. Runs and drives good. I think it needs head gaskets as it starts getting hot when you drive 55mph+ for a little while but doesn't burn coolant and doesn't have any in the oil so I think combustion gasses are getting into the coolant system. Thermostat and all of that has been replaced and removed. Also needs a steering column. This was my brothers car that was stolen then recovered. I got it and replaced the glass and fuel injector. Has new tires with maybe 1,200 miles on them. Headlights work and tranny is good. Non-top car Not the prettiest but straight body and would make a good daily driver or project car. Also have a good 4 bolt main 350 I'll sell with it for another $200. So I finally have the garage space to start some work on the mach1 and I want to go ahead and take care of the rust on the subframe and core support area. What do you recommend to get this done. I thought about getting a small sandblasting setup and doin it piece by piece and also thought about a wire wheel but also started wondering about chemical remover like what Eastwood has. What are some opinions out there. Don't want to remove anymore material than absolutely necessary and would like to also be as cost effective as possible
