  1. I've owned two canons. One was a $90 film point and shoot, the other was a $400 digital. Both were pieces of SHIT. Worked about a month and failed. Tech support was useless and led me on a year long maze of getting it "fixed" and being without a camera. I really lost my interest in photography due to them. At the consumer level, canon is an untrustworthy brand with shoddy build quality.

On the other hand, my Olympus is a champ, and I'm looking into stepping up to a Nikon D40

  2. I'm a huge fan of the late night pizza. But I find that if I work out after dinner, I'm really not hungry later on. I'll usually lift, have a protein shake, then just be donezo. I'd imagine that you still can't get a lot of exercise, but can you do just an upper body workout?
  3. I totally agree with the two suggestions above. I also have an commercial ozone generator that you can use if your other attempts fail.

Sounds good. I'm going to start with the easiest fixes, and work my way up.

That ozone generator is pretty cool. I did a little wikipedia research, and it's interesting how the oxygen molecules attach to contaminants in the air and change their molecular structure.

I also saw that ozone, in consumer products, is not at a high enough concentration to clean. According to wiki, it doesn't do much "cleaning" unless it is at levels where it would be a public health hazard. Do you think that I could make my car a public health hazard for an hour, and then let it air out for a couple hours?

  4. A relative just bought a new car that smelled suspiciously of cherries. Now that she's owned it for a week, the overpowering cherry smell is gone, and has been replaced with stale cigarette smoke (obviously was a smoker's car and the odor had just been masked by the dealership's cherry). The car's an 07, so it hadn't been smoked in for long.

What's the best way to permanently get rid of it (NOT cover it up)? Are there any products to use? Do I need to remove the seats and just saturate them with soapy water? Can we use a household steam cleaner? I read something online about an ozone generator, but that sounds pretty wild.

    Please advise!

  5. Enough people seem to own them on here. And boats are completely race-able too. No speedlimits, or police patrolling for dragracers!

Try it for a week, and if nobody uses it, close the section?

Edit: Didn't realize that there was a "list." Thanks!

  6. Saw a bunch of cool banners at Mid-Ohio this weekend. A "Welcome Race Fans" or shop banner would look good on some of the blank wall space in my college abode. Beer banners also welcome. Prefer something colorful and larger than a poster (thinking 4' by 7' or so). Let me know what you've got. Best deal would be if you had a hookup on "used" banners that were going to the garbage. I'm in Clintonville - hopefully, you're close by.
  7. Marc's (the grocery store on Henderson near Reed) is hiring a bunch of positions, part and full. No relation. Just saw the sign in the entrance way and was surprised since so many of my friends struggled to find jobs this summer.
  8. Also, if you find yourself in some dire situation where you own a flexfuel vehicle, are out of fuel, and all you have is a bottle of Everclear, its fuel too :)

    Pretty expensive per gallon :(

Too bad it doesn't go the other way around. I'd be thrilled if I could get everclear for $2.XX a gallon (price of E85)! haha

  9. Get a car charger, and hook it up to the Solar Panel?

    KillJoy

I've wondered the same thing. Couple years back I built a solar setup out of scrap that ended up making about 4 amps at 12 volts. Could I charge a car battery with this thing? Could I attach it to an ipod car charger and keep my music going?

  10. I'm going with a group to the races at Mid Ohio this weekend (August 8-9). For those who don't know, this is a huge event with the American Le Mans Series, IndyCar Series, SCCA Pro Racing’s SPEED World Challenge, Formula Atlantics and Firestone Indy Lights.

We've got two spare tickets for the weekend (racing all Saturday and Sunday) including PIT PASSES. The tickets were over $100 each, but due to last minute cancellations, we'll let them go for $60 each, or $120 for both.

Should be a great event, with a clear, although hot, forecast through the weekend.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM on here or reply to the thread. The tickets are with a friend at the moment (he's flying in from Maine for the event!), but I will have them in hand Friday night.

  11. Shift power less federal, more local.

Legalize and tax the shit out of pot.

Higher speed limits during the day (good visibility), lower speed limits at night.

More funding for highspeed passenger rail. How cool would it be to have one of those 130mph trains from here to the east coast? Columbus to DC in about 3 hrs... would really pull cars off the road and decrease emmissions.

And how about some tax incentives for the solar industry?

  12. Can you get the dash cam video from the state trooper? Since you're okay, I'm sure that would be worth a laugh (thinking the video of McLovin getting decked in superbad).

Again, glad you're okay. One of my close friends has a bike, and I'm always concerned when he rides (especially nights).
