Are you saying speed 3 parts on a protege? That's not going to work. Everything you describe in the op is the protege 5.

+1 Spinnin ain't winnin! I'm with you on this. Spoke with a Mazda engineer at Mid-Ohio a couple years back and he stated anything over 275 wheel horsepower in the fwd was pointless. Each car will be different and it's really up to the driver on what's streetable. My speed protege came with 170 hp at the crank, I'm conservatively guessing I had it up to about 175 whp and thought is was great. Conversely my 6 wagon came with 215hp at the crank and dyno'd at 182 whp last May completely stock (and 10 years old). It can get out of it's own way and merges onto 270 just fine, a little more power might be nice but not necessary. Sways and coil-overs yes please! Things like stiffer motor mounts and the power the trans can hold and put down is a big factor too.

I used FedEx freight for a cf roof cap a couple years ago. It was roughly $40 w/ insurance for about 38lbs. Dimension were roughly 6ft. by 3 3/4ft. by 6" I think. Set it up on-line, fed ex came to my house to pick it up.

I need an alignment too. IPS gave me a good quote on both, called to make the appointment and was told their tire machine is broke. Would love to hear the stories and see the rx7's though.

The thing about the widget makers is, there are other people in the world the same age making more or less money then they are. In the world of widgets guy A is doing great, guy B not so much. But in the world as a whole, guy A might just be doing meh. Kinda like the big fish in a little widget pond, but a smaller fish in the big world pond. I make decent money compared to the other people I work with, but I'm sure most of CR makes more than I do at their day job. I would be guy A in your scenario.
