it was fine before i took the head off not fine but not making any sounds the only reason i took the car apart was to put stock valve covers back on it if i would of left it alone it would be fine i did head gasket with new everyhting followed the ford book did everyhting properly i even heat cycled it and re torqued the head and rockers still nothing i have done the tdc trick numerous times still nothing the sounds seems to go away with rpm im about to go take it around the block but prob wont leave the driveway what causes an intermitten knock in no sort or rythm or pattern what so ever

lighting my car on fire and claiming it under insurance i took the intake back off as well as the valve cover re torqued the head bolts in the proper sequence as well as the rocker arms fired it up and still makes that intermitten knocking any ideas as to what that could be?

i know ive set the timing on these things like 100 times i took the valve cover off to retorque all the rockers and one of the bolts broke under the 25ft pounds on my brand new craftsman torque wrecnh awesome

timing is doing nothing not making anything sound or performance wise i think one or two of the rockers backed off cant wait to take the upper intake off and the valve cover then come to find that all the rockers are perfectly fine

got it to run finding tdc but still makes some intermitten poping sound runs like crap cant drive it timing was at like 30 with the spout out moving the distributor did hardly anything im tired of messing with it its sitting in the drive way and im typing up a for sale ad as we speak

i think the timing is just off now tired to turn it so the number one piston was at tdc and blew air out then point the rotor button at cylinder number one but now it wont even start anyone wanna come over and do it for me thanks

timing is right around 12 the cars idles fine but every so often and it isnt in any sort of rythm i dont think there is a bump bump or clunk sound this all occurs while sitting idling i have yet to drive it i can hear it and when im sitting in the car i can feel is jolt the shifter..... i would bring it to you rob but i dont think i want to drive it that far

the ground is back on the driver side head cleaned it it the car will sit there and idle all day but it has a sort of miss to it and its not consistent im gonna go check the timing im about to light this thing on fire

did some home work and found 95 - Fuel Pump Circuit Open-PCM To Motor Ground (M,O) does this mean the ground on the 02 harness inst good if so i ground it to the back of the head with the other braided ground where should it be grounded? thanks

put my car back together torqued the head down the intake down everything as follws pluged everyhting back in ran good soild vaccum lines car fires right up runs smooth but every once in a while it knocks or misses idk havent driven it yet just let it idle codes came up 81 82 and 95 any idea on what they are im not finding anything thanks

also have a 75mm professional products egr spacer with newer egr valve on it for 25

I have a 86-95 mustang gt40 lower intake manifold and i also have a 1/2 phelonic spacer for it i have the correct bolts that will come with it to run on an explorer cobra or gt40 tubular intake 100 takes it all thanks pics up soon

my sisters boyfriend has a 02 protoge the other day the seat belt the female end stop accepting the male end its jammed or broken or something to me it looks like its a whole assembley along with the seat any info can i fix it somehow or just buy the female end???

rob thank you i trust you but does it matter than i cranked it over by hand to move one of the pistons from the top to the bottom and im not gonna put it back together till monday or so im getting my valve covers and tubular gt40 bead blasted once again thanks for the advice your the man as always

car is a 5.0 roller ho car upper and lower intake and driver side head and obviously the push rods were removed motor was turned over maybe one full rotation while taken apart with the distributor in and the head off stock head with new head gasket and arp head bolts are going back on.... a few people have said throw it back together reverse order as the tear down and fire it up obviously ill change the oil and put coolant in it. other have said somehting about shimming rockers and bleeding rockers etc.. what is the correct procedure for putting this back together properly without hurting anything and yes i have a torque wrench and the correct torque patter and sequence and am re using stock rockers the head was untouched other than cleaned

i called jegs and figured it out i just need to run down there and get some washers for 6.99 anyone know the torque spec of these bolts please
