  1. Wow how do u not want 6 hours at one of the best tracks in the country to yourself for 6 hours... im in
  2. Actually I wasent getting hurt in anyway, just proving my point.... but your last post I do agree with. My point was to simply state that if you have a choice between platforms as a fresh start, the LS1 is the better choice because it is becoming the dominant motor. It took the small block 50 years to get where it did with the LT1, and at its climax, the general introduced a new breed, now just imagine where this beast may be in 50 years : Trust me I have nothing wrong with people building LT1's... dont know if I said in my last post but I am helping a friend put together a 383 F1 Procharged LT1. He had the car, its paid off and at that point it is cheaper for him and will be a bad ass car when we are done. Its actually a 94 Formula Good to see we were on the same page... there isnt enough of us Fbody guys to be arguing amongst eachother... need to leave that for them pesky import and Ford guys.... I would mention Dodge but they just totally suck!!! lol j/k dont every damn Dodge guy jump on my shit now!!
  3. Weak sauce.... Paul, as long as it is a 6 speed and you are driving the car will always be slow...........so I am not impressed!!!
  4. Something I know nothing about? Are you serious? Did you read my whole post?I have worked on more than twice the amount of LT1 cars then there are replies to this thread. I have put together MANY engine packages for customers and have put together many fully dressed LT1 and LS1's and at the end of the day you are going to get the better bang for your buck with the LS1. And yes you have to take off a couple of the main parts of the front of the motor to get to it, which sucks to have to do with fans, radiator etc.. in the way, it is just a shitty deal anyway ya slice it, and it is not cheap. The LT1 vs LS1 thing has been discussed to death and it is obvious which is superior because of what the general stuck with and the crazy N/A factory numbers the LS based engine are doing from the factory. The LT1 when properly assembled and running correctly is a great motor. I was just stating that if someone has a choice between the 2, the LS1 IN MY OPINION is the better choice..The person who started this thread asked for opinions, so of course some people may not agree. Leave it to the immature and close minded people to try and start drama. Really, you are picking that battle with the wrong person my friend, you act as if I personally attacked you and you tried to insult me......grow up!
  5. Went down different avenues. I am sure I will have something else going, still helping people out on the side, kinda taking a timeout, enjoying life with a normal paycheck and a set schedule. We will see what tomorrow brings :burn:
  6. Dont waste your time on a LT1, takes alot more to make the same power, more of a PITA to work on, the previously mentioned OPTI is a PITA because the front of the motor needs to come apart to change it. I used to own GMR SPEED, so some of you know me, I have had many experience with these. If you look hard enough and are willing to travel a little bit you can find some pretty nice LSx cars for under $6k. Even if a car is in Florida, its a $75 plane ticket, and about $150 and a day of your time in gas, so dont be discouraged if the car is far away. If your son is looking for something to learn on, LSx is the way to go as that is the layout for most performance engines in use by GM today and seems to be for many many years to come. But that is just my .02...
  7. Yea also things like old man named ray lets of the Tbrake and snaps his hip!!!!
  8. If anyone else ever has this problem at least in a GM LS based vehicle, HP Tuners can turn off the VATS and there is not longer a problem. I have had to do this when putting LS motors in non LS based cars.. such as a 88 Monte SS when using an Fbody computer and wiring harness.
