  1. Good luck in Delaware. Rarely do I see homes for rent that are decent and fair priced. It's all just apartments and senior centers around here. Unless you plan to buy then there aren't many options.
  2. There is a simple 9min video on how to get KODI and Genesis on your Fire Stick. Literally the hardest part is using the onscreen keyboard.

I agree, watch videos, get on tvaddons and htpcbeginner websites to look up more info. Also, Genesis is no longer being supported and is a waste. So disregard any info you see about that add on. The creator now runs the Exodus add on. Which I highly recommend.

Oh and for anyone doing this I recommend to sign up for a free Trakt.tv account and install the seenit app on your phone. Add all of your watched shows, check the episodes you've watched and even add ones you want to watch. Then attach your trakt account to add ons like Exodus, Velocity, Salts and many others. Much better than having to search for your favorites all the time. But if you do need to search then install the FireStick app and use your phones keyboard instead.

  3. I have one and it's pretty cool. We cut cable years ago and just rented movies, Netflix, Hulu and bunny ears for basic tv. Going on about two months with the stick and love it so far. I haven't dug too deep into it but have tried many add-ons and am still getting familiar.

It's not nearly as easy as a steaming app like Netflix or similar, but if you're patient and like saving money you will learn to deal. Plus you have access to literally any video or audio file ever made. You just need to set it up how you like and find your favorite add-ons to use on a regular basis. I just stick to a few, although I have several installed.

As for buying one of CL. I considered that route and almost did. After emailing two locals and one being out of stock and the other not responding I just ordered a new one from Amazon. I did the install of Kodi and all add ons myself. It's super easy and you don't even need a computer to do it anymore. I saved $20-50 by going this route and like that I am more familiar with how it works. Rather than buying one already set up with a bunch of shit I probably wouldn't even use. After using mine for a few months I don't see how people could use much more than 10-15 add-ons max. The ones people are selling are overloaded with more than you would ever dare to use and would end up just frustrating me personally.

I say just jump on Amazon and get your own and search google. Message me for my number if you would like and I can text you some info that I might still have saved. Or walk you through some stuff.

  4. It took me a lot of playing around with it. I really like Genisis after figuring out the cache clearing to keep the buffering to practically never, I hope it doesn't go away.

My only gripe is all of the hoops I need to jump through just to watch something. If it's always going to be this much of a pain, I'd rather just pay for other streaming apps.

As for Genesis...it's over. No new content as it isn't being supported anymore.

  5. I love mine. Use the shit out of it. I use Geniuses and Phoenix the most on the Kodi app. What also seems to help with buffering is keeping the caches clear of all the apps on the firestick including Kodi, i do mine manually rather than the zero cache app. Right now I'm streaming a movie on it and my buddy is playing on xbox live with no issues

I hear Genisis is no longer being supported and will probably be NLA soon. I was having slight issues with it anyway. I'm using Phoenix now and it seems to be pretty good. I have been reading that setting zero cache isn't the best idea on the FireStick. So I found another option I may try if I continue having issues. I am just a complete noob to all this and need to keep exploring.

  6. Buffering can be a pain sometimes..... its the servers you download froms problem not your nets. Try the phoenix app.... it seems to work pretty good most of the time for me.

I started browsing Phoenix. It's not nearly as informative as 1channel, which is what I've preferred so far. I hope it's just the links though. So far it's been more of a hassle using Kodi over paid apps on my Xbox one and using rainierland occasionally.

I get the buffering perhaps once every month or so. I reset my router and also unplug the Firestick for a few seconds and everything comes back without further delays. I don't know enough about it to say if that's the same problem you're having, but it might be worth a try.

I reset it probably more than I should. I'm pretty positive it's a software issue. Just because gaming and all other streaming works just fine. Do you use Kodi?

  7. I am curious if anybody is using one? I recently purchased and got mine all setup. I followed popular steps for installation from online and have been running into intermittent issues with buffering. I am almost positive my internet speeds are not the issue. I keep hearing about setting up zero cache, but then hear I could run into storage issues. Any advice at all?
  8. Sales will teach you a lot about yourself. It is imo one of the best career choices for someone. If you are successful in sales, you will always have a job. Even the mediocre salesman can have rewarding careers. I have spent the past decade in sales and sales management. While at times it was a roller coaster, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I haven't always been the most successful, but I have learned a lot.

Now with that being said and based on your posts..... If you're doing okay for yourself now yet aren't happy, then taking a step back to propel your career is a good move. I say this from personal experience. Over the course of the past year I went from veteran car salesman to branch sales manager of another company. I was given a big opportunity and had the potential to make a lot more money than I ever have. Now fast forward 6 months after recieving several rewards and being one quarter away from getting my company truck turned into the car of my choice. All of that and then some, yet I had quickly become so unhappy in the position. Shortly after I decided to resign. Now I have taken a step back to a lesser paying job, but somewhere I feel I can grow significantly and apply my skills.

I don't know if that story helps you at all. I just want to point out that you should always considered taking foreign paths. You're still young and have many years to work yourself into a career. My advice is get into sales and absorb as much knowledge as possible.
