  1. Don't forget Lowes now carries the Craftsman brand (Above and beyond the normal Kobalt stuff).. Lots of sales for Christmas too
  2. * Love the feedback and doing some light reading on the M30 motor and still like the V8 (Non-LS) option. Likely will need to be a motor/transmission swap either way as the more I read about my old motor (M54) assuming it is toast (Mileage/overheated likely).
  3. One more: I am not planning on this being a high $$ build and not one I plan to do overnight. Will definitely morph as I get into the tear down mode. As always appreciate any ideas (feedback too even if it is mentioning "Shit-box"). Who knows maybe this is just an excuse to tear into something as I have really not wrenched on anything since I sold the ReX/FD about 9 years ago)
  4. May look into the M62 (If reasonable maybe the S62B50) as this is not too far off the HP I was thinking about. I also loved this combo in the E92's
  5. Picked up the 330CI over the weekend and other than being horrible dirty I like the vehicle: Observations: No rust anywhere - Color is Laguna Seca Blue (448) with a black leather interior and yes the clear coat is coming off in a couple places Motor/Head gasket toast (Smell antifreeze in the smoky exhaust but too funny runs well Lots of miles on the motor/car (200K) was told the car was originally from the South Nice M wheels and newer tires Surprise in the trunk (New Powerstop rotors and Hawk Plus pads - all four corners) - $300 plus value Another surprise with a nice® set of M floor mats (Dirty - Will steam / power wash) Interior 7 out of 10 (Mostly one door panel and the drivers seat is toast Plan is to get the head off after I get the Timing chain alignment tools (Coming from Amazon). This locks everything in place to simplify reassembly (No assumptions with the motor). Would post pics, but do not remember the best location to post (Plus nothing exciting with the car yet).. One more note rented a car hauler from U-Haul and what a hot mess. Had it at one location, then moved me to another only for that person not to return it. Then I was offered one in the town I was picking it up only to find out it was closed. They really sucked. Finally was sent to another town and literally when to an open parking lot to take the trailer (No one was there). Really a mess of a process, but the trailer was great (Would love to have access to one of these regularly.)
  6. Goal was to get something close to the old FD/RX7 (400 HP and 320 trq). Would want to get close to 500 as this platform is quite a bit heavier (Weight-to-thrust close). Another ReX might be an option if they were not so stinking expensive right now (Including parts).. Assuming most of the guys that have them are thinking about selling them (FD's) now..
  7. Yes an E46 chassis and maybe I will just go with the M54B30 and rebuild it with lower compression pistons and plan out a turbo build. Know the N54/55 motors are capable of so many HP's. Will keep looking at other sites (Nothing really specific for BMW's in the thread about good sites to look at car shtuff's). Still thinking about it but think the E46 is a good platform to start with..
  8. Morning - Since I sold the RX7 (FD) about 10 years ago I have been driving the M Roadster (BMW Z4 with a S54 Motor) and it is just still to nice to be wrenching (60K unmolested). So I am thinking about selling it in the spring and getting a RWD BMW I can wrench on (Like Doc says "it not what you buy..."). Either way I like the 3 series BMW's and found one in VA with a bad motor and debating on picking it up and build/turbo'ing it or a swap (Not likely a LS). Maybe a N54 (Turbo BMW 6). Curious if I do this is there many people in C-bus that might be doing something similar or some support (I always leaned on the crew of the RX7 store (Xavier) or Logan Carswell if I got in over my head with the ReX). Let me know as I will likely head down this weekend if the guy does not sell it before. Yes the 330Ci looks to be pretty clean (Good starter chassis)
  9. Too funny never thought about getting a bang-bang from Rural King.. Also thinking about selling my Springfield Armory XD-9 and getting a new Sig (P320-M17). Guess I will wait for the right sale before pulling the trigger
  10. Def a Dodge K car (Not my cup of tea).. Also if I wanted an unusual, Gangster-like, car it would be the Yota Century (Maybe Doc's pic??).. V12 Baby
  11. Speaking of buying stuff's I was thinking about a watch (Smart) and was thinking about getting a Samsung Watch 4. I could not either find stock or pricing was high and found an international version and could not determine the difference. So I started a chat with Samsung and they were great and asked me if I wanted to buy. I said yes and told them I found it $50 cheaper (B&HPhoto) and they not only matched it, but configured it and gave me free shipping. Guess what I wanted to say is always ask when interested (Better deal and manufacturers warranty.) Yes I am an IT Nerd too
  12. Ryan - suggestion would be to buy what you need and not want. My first house was $32k and fixed it up and resold after 9 years and made a profit. Then bought a bigger house/more land and did the same (Made profit). Be careful buying too far out as traveling to work sucks in the Winter. Also agree about PMI as it is a small piece of the pie.
  13. My Parrot Zik 3 finally died and ended up buying a Sony (Similar functionality) WH-1000XM4 and love the battery life (Says 20 hours). If you like the Zik's (Parrot) you will love this one.. Lil pricey, but like my Note 10+ I picked it up on FB used like new for a great price.
  14. Been doing BT for a long time (Mower/Cars/Work)
  15. Broke my Note 8 and found a Note 10+ out on FB with one that has never been out of an otterbox (Perfect). This was better than buying a new device and I kept my old cracked on as a fall back. Believe it was 300 ish from the guy.. Solid phone (As was the 8) and will probably hold out on the new "fold" style until they are proven (Not breaking so much).
  16. Could not agree more (Have had three Tundra's). Only complaints: Gas mileage Technology stuffs Plus's Goes forever! Does not break (Even doing stupid stuff with it) Great for short and long trips Have a 2018 TRD Off Road (Funny has never been off gravel)
  17. Almost always a used one for sale out on Facetrash marketplace (Saw one this past weekend).
  18. Have a Proform 680 treadmill for 8-10 years and good for a brisk walk or a fast run. Padded belt, fan, predefined workouts and adjustable pitch.. Folds up, but a little heavy. Can't imagine you could not find one similar on FaceTrash marketplace if you looked a bit..
  19. Also might be doing a small space (24 X 12) for storage/mezzanine like on the side w/o the main door.. I current have the 36 inch door to the right and the double door to the left (Mezzanine would be on the right) Also installed a 77 inch ceiling fan to help move air Outlets were installed every 4 foot pole (11 total). Debated on installing a 220/240 v one, but compressor is 110 and do not own a welder (Yet)
  20. Installed a 24 X 32 X 12 (Height) and love the extra room to get stuff in and out of the building. If I get back to wrenching on cars I might install a lift and it will make a difference. Remember most garage door openers do not support a 10 foot door and I had to buy a combo from Amazon that included a Chamberlain opener (MED lifting power) with an extension kit. Not super expensive at about $240 and only complaint is the MyQ (Wifi monitoring) does not work because it is a metal building. I am researching I might be able to extend the cable outside somehow to get it working.
  21. Love the old trucks and wish I had the time to build one (OK and the skill).. Nice job and like the fact you and your dad are doing the job.. Assume the color is roman red? My dad's 62 Impala (Bubbletop) is that color and it looks almost identical..
  22. Echo the Ubiquiti recommendation as I have been running the (Ubiquiti) Amplifi with a single mesh point in my 2700 sq feet ranch house and can do everything on porches w/out issues. I also had it at the old house (About 2 years) and really like the product. I have heard the newer ones provide additional capabilities (Mostly gaming)..
  23. Agreed Joe, Use multiple items to keep my lil pond clean: Algae rake when it is out of control Algaefix when the amur's/dye are not enough Blue dye to slow algae growth Amur's (a neutered fish that eats algae) Catplex for the cat tails Special tablets to keep the top water muck down (tractor Supply unsure the name) Fountain/aerator to keep oxygen in the water Definitely not self maintaining when smaller and not spring fed.
  24. Still growing my bass (Maybe 1-1.25 pounds) and the pond looks healthy. The combination of the blue dye, fountain and the Amur's seems to be keeping the muck out of the pond.. Joe still using the old fountain you sold me about three years ago. Go out about once a week to toss a black and chartreuse worm. Bluegill are pretty big (Hybrid and regular) have not caught any of the perch I stocked.
  25. Used Yoder Brothers builders for my steel 24 x 32 x 12. Slow to start and would not pull a building permit for Franklin county (I had to). Unbelievable one day and it was up (Minus doors and concrete) and done well like most Amish jobs. Doors came in later and they would have done the concrete, but had a guy we used when the house was built (Good luck w/him). Also highly suggest the taller ceilings as dad gave me his old canoe with 30 dollar Amazon kayak/canoe hoist I still have 9+ feet up clearance (Out of the way). Also hope to get back to wrenching sometime and may source some sort of lift.
