  1. My '09 Jetta with 90k miles is going back on January 7th. While I haven't, nor do I intend to beat it to death before it goes back, there has been a feeling of ZERO FUX giving when it comes to the car. I drive it to work everyday, it hasn't had a bath since spring, needed tires about 5k miles ago, got backed into denting the right fender on Halloween, and I don't really care. I had originally planned to keep the car right up to the turn in deadline in 2018, but that's too risky and wife wants a bigger kid hauler. It is the only brand new car I have purchased and it's been the best vehicle I have ever owned. Its the Glock of cars, not flashy, works every time, never breaks, and gets 40+ MPG no matter how I drive it. It will be missed, and I haven't decided on the eventual replacement. I doubt I'll go back with a VW. I've had 2 now, a Touareg, which was the worst vehicle I've ever owned and the Jetta, the best. The only thing I plan to remove is the Eibach rear sway bar I installed 4 years ago.
  2. I have 4 tickets to next Saturdays Browns v Rams pre-season game in section 139, row 11, seats 1-4. These seats are very close to the tunnel where the team comes out of the locker room. face is $60 per, SOLD for all 4. pm me if interested, I can setup a delivery meeting or have them sent USPS/Fedex. http://www.stubhub.com/data/venue_maps/4465/thumb/stubhub_5292_ClevelandBrownStadium_Browns_SM2.png http://www.rateyourseats.com/inseat/cleveland-browns-stadium-nfl-139-800x600.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo-1.jpg
  3. You should be able to find a fairly nice Grand w/v8 for $10k. It will just take some looking. I picked up our fully loaded 05 limited 2 years ago for $15k and it only had 48k miles. 100% agree on the engine breakdown above. Having driven a 3.7 GC, I wouldn't let someone pay me to drive one. I have a buddy with a 4.7 and it is alright, he would always say he wished it had just a bit more power for towing. The 5.7 is more than enough engine for the platform.
  4. Due North is really good for civilian helicopter instruction. Military hands down would be vastly superior but if you are just doing it for fun, Due North will be just fine. I was a fixed wing instructor 14 years ago, so I probably wouldn't be much help in the helicopter department but I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. I will say this, I was in a helicopter from JFK to the Lower Manhattan Heliport a few years ago and it was easily one of my top 5 aviation related experiences and I've been flying since 1994. I'd love to add the rotorcraft rating some day when I have the time.
  5. I've had this model for 3 years and it's been fine. I'm sure there are much better saws but it's not my living and didn't care to spend more. I have framed a basement, built a deck with complex angles, and used it for base board, door, and window trim. It has performed great in all of those tasks. Make sure whatever model you get, if it is a slider get a VERY GOOD stand. Sliders need a good stand or they will fall over. I spent $150 on my stand and feel I should have bought a better one. I wouldn't say its unsafe, just not as stable as I would like.
  6. I can't tell you much about a twin turbo Vette, but I have spent around a year and a half of my life in a pilot seat (13,000+ hours). I don't keep that close of tabs on what training costs, but if you can get a Private Pilots license for $5k I'd go for it. I think some flight schools are charging upwards of $10k. It will be very time consuming and starting this time of year can get frustrating because the weather will dictate a lot of when you can actually go flying. If you do decide to go this route. Make sure that you set aside as much time as you can to go flying. When I taught, the best students were the ones that were in the air as often as they could be. It's a lot easier to hammer it out, than take a week or 2 off then come back and play catch-up. Once you've finished, it will be one of the most rewarding accomplishments of your life. Like others have said, there are recurring costs involved. After you get your license it is imperative to continue to fly if you can afford it. The Private Pilots license is mostly a license to learn, continuing to fly allows you to gain more experience and develop your skill. Also, every 2 years you'll need to be checked by a flight instructor for proficiency and a flight physician (pilot medical exam) for as long as you want to stay active.
  7. Brand New Glock 20SF gen3 I've had this pistol for around 3 years and I have never shot it. It is brand new, factory stock and comes in the original box with everything. It does come with three 15 round mags, a Blackhawk Serpa Holster with paddle and belt attachments, and 20 rounds of Federal Premium Hydra-Shok. Advantage Arms Glock 20-21 LE 22lr conversion kit This 22lr conversion kit is in excellent condition. Only 200 rounds of CCI mini-mag have been shot through it. It comes with 5 10-round magazines. This kit will work on ANY Glock 20 or 21 up through gen3. WILL NOT WORK ON GEN4's. 500 rounds of Privi Partizan PPU 10mm 180gr JHP TEN 50-round boxes THE WHOLE PACKAGE FOR $950 firm Not terribly interested in trades, since I'm selling this because I need more room in the safe, but if you have something bad-ass you think I might want give it a try (No AR's, I have enough). I've always told myself if I have a gun that isn't massively collectible that I don't shoot, it has to go. The package price reflects that I would prefer to sell it that way. Please feel free to pm me if you want any other info on the items. Individual asking prices below http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo2.jpg The G20SF, holster, and Hydra-shok alone $600 http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo3-1.jpg AA 20-21 22lr conversion kit and mags alone $300 http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo1.jpg 500 rounds of PPU 10mm JHP alone $180 http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo.jpg
  8. I have the N82 tactical for my shield and I really like it. I've been happy with my Desantis holsters in the past, but they were more "duty" style than concealment. I haven't had the trouble with the sights on mine yet, it's also a .40. Although, I still want to replace them. I've been looking at the XS Big Dot sights. It's never going to be a target gun so I figured these will be good for quick acquisition. I've also thought about just going with standard 3 dot trijicon's, or trijicon HD's. As far as trigger, I'm okay with it for now. I'm hesitant to do much work too it due to the nature of the weapons use. I feel it's a lot easier to answer questions about a 100% stock firearm, than one that's been modified. But, the APEX seems like a option if you totally hate the trigger.
  9. Go-arounds aren't very common but there is usually a pretty good reason for them and they are much safer than the alternative. I've done 3 so far this year, one was yesterday in CLE. Agree with load shifting aft as the probable cause. There is absolutely nothing that could have done if the load slid to the back. It's an impossible situation to correct. Very sad.
  10. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo3.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo4.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t256/creid325/photo5.jpg Price $550 This is a Gen 3 Glock 27 (.40S&W) that is nearly brand new. Only 1 box (50 rounds) of Federal American Eagle 180 grain has been shot through it. It comes with everything seen in the first picture. Three G27 mags (9 round capacity) Two G23 mags with A&G grip extensions (13 round capacity) FTF Cash Only transaction or I'll entertain trade proposals. Items I'm more likely to entertain in a trade deal: Sig P226/P229 or 1911 in 9mm (+cash from me) Saiga shotgun or .223 AR15 lower/s Kel-Tec SU-16c/ca (I know , for some reason I want to try one out)
  11. First off, that sucks. Open a dispute with PayPal. I don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/security/buyer-protection-resolution Read through the EE essentials link on AR15.com at the top of the EE HERE You might find your answer in there but I would believe AR15.COM can't do anything but ban the seller. Sucks that people are taking advantage of the current situation, but you shouldn't be paying $30 for PMAGS anyway. There are tons of places to get them, you just have to be patient. Watch the AIMSURPLUS forum in the evenings. They always post what is going up on sale the second it does, and they don't start posting the good stuff until about 6 or 7pm. They have put up numerous 30 round mags already this week between C-Products and Lancer. Last week was Troy and PMAG.
  12. Does the barrel have a mid-length or carbine length gas system?
