Good bye, good luck, and open roads.

Went for the 6.2. Still 460lb-ft though, so it should tow my 3900lb trailer a lot easier than my Taco. The Taco also made my wife car sick when she rode in it, so she should like the Yukon a lot more. Work let me overnight a Tahoe High Country to see if I could stomach the 10-speed. It's actually not bad. 10 gears is just silly, but somehow GM makes it work. It doesn't hesitate off the line and it manages to keep from gear hunting too. I was surprised.

No fancy plans so far. Going to trade the Taco for a Yukon that will pass the wife test.

I think the exterior is good. But I love the interior. It's 100% modern, but still completely '80s.

I bought my truck from a dealership in PA last year. It went like this: At the dealership I paid for temp tag registration and the expected OH taxes. I asked if I could just pay the taxes when I was back in OH, but they said that by PA law I had to pay taxes at the time of sale, and they would send me a check for the taxes with the title. I drove on the PA temp tag until the dealership sent me the title and a check made out to the OH clerk of courts for the taxes. I went to a BMV and got an out of state inspection. (less than $10) Next was the title office. I gave them the check, title, and out of state inspection form. The dealership got their math wrong, so I paid the difference in tax, plus title fees. Then to the BMV again to register it and paid the usual fees.

I use a set from Advance. Their rental kits are pretty good, and the rental fee is essentially the purchase price. So if you like the kit you can just keep it, and the individual parts can be exchanged if they break.

This was what I came to when I considered swapping my BRZ. As wonderful as the chassis is, with that level of power it'd be better just to start with a platform built for it from the start.

The listing is gone, but I wonder if this was being sold by a guy down the street from me. There always seems to be at least one Merc parked on the curb. It will be there for a while then disappear. He also has a couple in his driveway all the time. I'm pretty sure he fixes them up and then flips them. He recently had a Maybach and it disappeared a week or so ago.

The problem I have with theories like this is that they are usually needlessly convoluted. The list of parties with a vested interest amount to billions of dollars in value and global-levels of political power. Yet the instrument of choice was an RV with an explosive in it? Powers at this level don't need to make it look like some crazy random attack. They could introduce data into the system to get the result they want. The programs that are looking at the data can be manipulated in very small ways to get the results they want. The machines themselves that make up this computer can be interfered with in subtle ways to corrupt the data or cause failures. Hell, if Clinton, Obama, Biden, AT&T, Cerberus, etc. are all in on this conspiracy, they have enough money and power to just SAY the system found no inconsistencies and bury the real results. What they don't need to do is come up with a saturday-morning-cartoon level plan to have an RV packed with explosives and a PA system to take out the cooling system of this computer. That's like using a firehose to fill a shot glass. And then, to I guess add some sort of morbid legitimacy to this strange plan since remote triggers and timers are a thing in this day and age, they somehow convince a person to take their own life? It makes no sense. Occam's Razor: Disgruntled employee wanted to get back at the company but didn't want to hurt actual people.

Taco. Reliable, popular, and a large aftermarket. I shouldn't say how I know this....

So much hate. Actions speak louder than words, and Trump and the GOP have *shown* that they are a problem that must be removed. You can say whatever you THINK might happen, but I have watched what HAS happened, and turning a blind eye to that is the most irresponsible thing someone can do. Trump is the most UNamerican person I can think of. After what he has DONE in his position as POTUS, voting for him is absolutely unthinkable. Frankly, he's so bad, I really am starting to group people who blindly support him with Flat Earthers and Anti-Vaxxers. The sheer denial of plain fact is mindboggling. I'm tired of trying to find a middle ground, only to watch one side shoot themselves in the face and then blame the other side. I'm fucking tired of it. My dream is that the Dems sweep it all, eliminate the Electoral college and undo decades of gerrymandering so the GOP never rises to power again. Because they DO NOT represent the majority of americans. I love this country and I'm tired of seeing it being corrupted at the people's expense.

Holy Fuck. I wish all the fucking crazy goes away after the election. But I fear this isn't some sort of temporary insanity, but instead is a light shown on a cancer that's been hidden for a long time and won't go away anytime soon. Hatred, fear, and division of the population only helps one group ultimately. I'm fucking tired of it.

Check out the tach when it hit 331. It's gear limited! That's got a 340-350 in it. Probably a little extra in it in case Koenigsegg swings back.

Thanks. It's a steel single car trailer and my MR2 Spyder. But after a compression test and some research I think I'm going to drive it. It will just be easier for everyone. Thank you all for your help.

No luck. That one didn't have a hitch and the others are close to or over what renting from Enterprise would be. Damn.
-
Nice find! I had forgotten about Turo. Here's hoping this works out. Thank you!

This is a crazy request, and I'm not holding much hope, but here it is: I need to tow a car on a trailer to Topeka Kansas and back. I'm estimating 1400-1600 miles. Going through Enterprise or U-Haul it'll cost at least 900$ just on rental fees. I'd need it from 8/12 to 8/17. I'm providing the trailer, I just need something to pull it. I'm willing to pay $500. I know I'm asking a LOT, but I'm almost out of options at this point. Thanks.

All this talk about the HF stands has me worried. Mine are the same design, but I don't think I bought them from HF. Either way, I've had them for a decade at least. I think it might be time to retire them and get something better. I want a set of ESCOs, but they're pricey as hell.

I've invested some with an eye towards letting it ride. It's been interesting watching it rise and fall. I was up 33% almost immediately, then watched it fall. Now I'm up only 3%. I've eyeballed some cruise lines, but I'm not convinced that the cruise industry will recover.

I just installed an exhaust with vacuum-actuated valves on my G70. They work great and operate quickly. Though they are in a diverter setup though. I don't know what the durability will be like yet, so I can't attest to that, but they are simpler than an electric actuator so I am hopeful they'll last longer. Maybe look into something like that? I've also heard of people using wastegates for cut-outs on boosted applications.
-
Nothing fancy this year. The G70 will get a little lower and louder. The new RallyCross car will get refreshed and raced. Mods that matter will come when I move it out of Stock class.
-
The LKA in my G70 is really good. The funny thing is that it goes longer without a hands on the wheel warning when I don't touch the wheel at all. The next generation of LKA from Hyundai will be designed specifically for hands-off driving on the highway. The 2020 G90 already has it. I'm hoping the G70 facelift will get it too as well as the other tech Hyundai is bringing to the table (i.e. "Smaht Pahk" etc..)

I love it. It's got everything I want in a daily and long distance cruiser. Long drives are awesome with the Lane Keeping Assist. At one point on my drive back from MA I didn't touch the wheel for about a half hour. I love the HUD. It will be hard owning a car without it, just like heated seats. ..and that heated steering wheel. Speaking of which, the seat takes longer to heat up than other cars I've owned, but both the seats and wheel will eventually get uncomfortably hot eventually, which is perfect in my book. I'd rather have to turn them down than be wishing I could turn them up. But I often find myself thinking how much I like the car. Now it is a first year car.. So there are a couple issues that I plan to have checked out at my next service. But nothing catastrophic.

LOL. As for the "Amy" situation, I've given up for now. I just have bad luck in that department. I won't go into the details, but every time I get close to my perfect stable, stuff goes sideways. So now it's just the G70 and my new RallyCross car which will have to do double duty for AutoCross events and fun runs.
