  1. It's bone stock... just a nice daily driver. It takes way to much to make 1.8t's fast enough to talk about. From what I understand, the DP on a 1.8t is a pretty good first upgrade. The cat-back doesn't choke quite as much, but as with any turbo car, still needs to breath (and is an obvious upgrade if you are already doing the dp). Why chip the car (aka, more boost), if you are just going to choke everything on the way out?
  2. Actually on topic... Search (notice I said search, not ask) around the mkiv forum on the vortex and you can find all kinds of pics and sound clips for every setup possible.
  3. Wow, that engine bay doesn't look like a ton of fun to work in... sweet car though.

He ought to be excited... it's probably boring knowing that you are going to win every week. Maybe next year it will at least be a competition  Thanks. Unfortunately I am in the market for a second set of wheels (for my r-comps), so I don't see me having a set to spare any time soon. I don't think I've ever seen RC's on a MKV, they look good?

Yeah yeah yeah, just two more events on those rocks. Any idea what you'll be driving next season?
  6. Haha, Jim Sorgi and Doug Johnson in the "We're Screwed If These Guys Have To Play During Regular Season" bowl
  7. Did anyone else see Chad OWN DeAngelo Hall? The Bengals offense will not be stopped. If their defense can manage to perform to a mediocre level, they will go very deep in the playoffs. Also, Brady Quinn is a douche.

I know, I know... koni adjustables are on the short list of "stay in stock class" mods planned for this winter. Thanks for the compliments everyone
  9. My old daily driver crx si got almost 40mpg on the highway, and at 108hp, it had enough get-up-and-go to be a fun little ride. Of course crx's don't exactly have the passenger/cargo room of the new econo cars...

The talon was my baby, no doubt about that. Had it for 7ish years and only put about 25k miles on it. Paint and interior were almost 100% perfect. Believe it or not, it didn't break once in the 7 years I owned it. I was definitely sad to see it go. My first crx (not pictured) was a piece... that yellow one was ridiculously clean though. 120k miles and almost completely stock. I miss that car a lot too... if only it wasn't yellow.

I guess I'll introduce myself... General History: My name is Jerry. I grew up in Hamilton (just north of cincy). I graduated from Purdue last December, and moved here (henderson rd exit off of 315 area) in March to start my new job. I am now a mechanical design engineer for a supplier to Honda (I design combi-meters, aka, gauge clusters). Automotive Background: I had a 1G fwd talon from high school up until about 6 months ago. Had all the bolt ons, big16g, etc etc. While owning that, I had two crx's and a jeep as daily drivers. I sold the talon just before moving here in order to get something a little more practical (since I couldn't keep it in my parent's garage anymore ). I now drive a 2004.5 Jetta GLI. Needless to say the drag strip does not exactly call my name anymore, but I started autoxing this summer with OVR, and have gotten pretty hooked. I also had a 1998 Yamaha FZR600, and currently ride a 2000 R6. Here are lots of pics...
