No heat shield. The inlets of the airbox seal to the decklid and draw fresh air from outside the engine compartment. Intake air temps are not an issue with the car. The car is really well engineered and layed out. They are an absolute blast to drive.

Sorry guys, no sound clip. We were on a tight deadline and I wasnt able to get one....

We recently had another Ford GT supercar brought to us for an Accufab X-pipe install. This particular owner had heard another GT we had done at a car show a while back and called us up to have the same system installed on his car. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6791&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6795&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6801&g2_serialNumber=1 This particular car had the stock supercherger removed and was equipped with a Heffner Twin Turbo setup. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6831&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6834&g2_serialNumber=1 The stock muffler is absolutely wedged into the rear of the vehicle. It is a large and heavy piece. The new Accufab x sheds 40lbs of weight off the rear and is said to reduce engine compartment temps by 20*. Not only that but it looks cool in there http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6804&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6807&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6810&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6813&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6816&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6819&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6822&g2_serialNumber=1 And the polished tips out the back really finish things off nicely! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6828&g2_serialNumber=1

I posted some pics a few weeks back of a custom installed radar detector we did on a Ferrari California. We recently knocked another one out. This time on a Porsche GT3. For those not familiar with the Passport 9500ci system, it incorporates a radar receiver, dual front laser shifters, and a rear laser shifter for 360* sensor coverage and protection. The shifters are designed to divert incoming laser signals to give the driver enough time to get slowed down before they get hit again. The 9500ci also uses a gps antenna along with a stored database with the gps locations of all known traffic cameras, speed cameras, and speed traps on the road. Database updates are free for 3 years and are done with a laptop and a simple usb port inside the vehicle. You can also use the gps to block reception from locations with known false reports (ex. grocery store sliding doors...) or you can program in newer sites that are not in the database. The unit comes with a heads up display along with a color changing led that illuminates receiver status and there is also a hidden speaker that provides audible alerts to the driver. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6756&g2_serialNumber=1 The 9500ci uses a single front radar receiver and dual front laser shifters. The shifters were located just under the front bumper on the outer edges and the radar receiver was tucked behind the mesh grill on the drivers side. The system blends really nicely and most people wouldnt pick up the shifters or the receiver unless they were looking for them. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6766&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6760&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6763&g2_serialNumber=1 The rear laser shifter is mounted above the license plate area. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6769&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6772&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6775&g2_serialNumber=1 Inside the heads up display and controls were mounted in a location easily accessible to the driver http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6781&g2_serialNumber=1 The color changing led was mounted in easy view of the driver. A green led means no signals are detected. As soon as a radar or laser signal is detected, the led will immediately begin flashing red to warn the driver and the audible alert lets the driver know what they are getting hit with. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6787&g2_serialNumber=2

It is fun. Im more of a nature person than a tourist person and the parks are a blast. Cades Cove is really cool. There are tons of old houses and churches to see from the 1800's although it is sad to see the way people have defaced them by carving their names into them.....The last time at Cades Cove, we saw 4 or 5 bear along the route. It was pretty cool. Another cool place is Klinman's Dome. I belive it is the highest lookout point in the smokey mountains. It is a decent hike to the top but it has great scenery. There is also a Musclecar museum on the way down that has some pretty cool cars in it that is worth checking out on a rainy day. Cant remember the name of it off the top of my head but there is some neat history in there and worth stopping by. Private cabin is the way to go and the more secluded, the better. I could literally stay in a cabin for a week and be very content...Most have hot tubs on the decks and are very relaxing. There are plenty of places to eat with good food. The Dixie Stampede is a cool dinner show worth seeing and the food is fantastic.

Basically as it comes up on boost, the factory wastegate control pulls back and drops boost about 2 psi and then it comes right back up and levels off. It does the exact same thing on the factory tune. The factory wastegate control is a little slow to respond and there isnt a ton of resolution to work with. I would rather have it pull back more aggressively than spike hard.

No problem. If you pm me the info on the sticker on the pcm, I can tell you what the latest revision of the calibration should be.
-
You would have to call your service advisor about an update. This truck was a very early '11 model and there were several updates since the orginal cal in the truck was released. I would say the gains on this truck from the oem update would be out of the ordinary on most trucks....Most trucks would most likely see minor driveability improvements only and there are probably some background issues that get resolved that most people would never know about. I would not excpect the same gains from a late '11 model or 2012 model.
-
Should be able to. If you shoot me over the year and the pcm id (should be on a white sticker on the pcm) I could tell you for sure. Im 99% sure it wouldnt be a problem. I havent tuned anything outside of the F150 and the SHO's with the ecoboost in it but typically the control system doesnt change much between the platforms.

Thought I would share a few pics of a recent car we were brought. This has to be my favorite Camaro body style of all time. I had tuned a Lightning a while back and the customer was very happy and had been sending me referrals. I would say this was the coolest referral and it was a lot of fun to be involved with. Basically the car is a 1969 Camaro with an LS1/4L60E out of a 2004 GTO. The car came in for a custom tune and alignment. During the initial tune session the car had a fuel pressure problem so we went ahead and got that straightened out and charged the ac system for the owner as well. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6707&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6711&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6714&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6717&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6720&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6723&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6726&g2_serialNumber=1

I got an email from the owner of this truck today. Just thought i would share it. It made my day! Brady, The 2011 Ecoboost is running great! I only disappointed I waited this long to have it tuned. The guys at work have been really impressed with how the truck feels now. The transmission shifts firm and responds when you accelerate. I am not a easy person to please but I have no complaints on this and that's saying a lot. Thanks again. I will try to send you as much referral business as possible. best regards Mike

The old wheels werent the oem wheels they were 3 piece Lowenharts. They did look good but the depth of the dish on the rear compared to the front sort of overwhelmed the fronts on the car. It looked like it had nice wide wheels on the back and little dinky ones up front. That was really the owners only complaint about the wheels. From what I understand, he bought the car with those rims on it and he just wanted to try something different. Thats pretty much what he was going for with the new wheels. I wasnt too fond of them until we got them on the car and I thought they worked well for what he was trying to achieve. The main reason for the wrap was because we could easily remove it if he decided he wanted it changed later.

Thanks Hal. You would be surprised at how many 03 Cobra's Ive had in on the edge lately.... On these cars, too much is the better alternative to not enough. We keep the Mafia's in stock for all of the 96-04, and the 05-10 cars and now that we are a Kenne Bell dealer, we keep the single and dual bap's in stock as well.
-
We recently had this 03 Cobra brought to us for a custom tune. It was equipped with a ported factory blower, an intake, and exhaust. The main focus on the car was to make sure it was safe and improve driveability. The car was also close to pegging the mass air meter and and the fuel pump. Both had a little bit of room left but the owner wanted to be proactive, so we went ahead and added a Mafia and a boost-a-pump to address those 2 issues to give us some added protection for a cool day and also buy us some headroom on the fuel pump duty cycle. The upgrades would also allow for more boost in the future if the owner ever wanted swap pulleys as well. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6684&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6691&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6694&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6697&g2_serialNumber=2 The car made good power and we were able to pick up a nice gain in tq across the entire rpm range compared to the previous tune the car had been running http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6703&g2_serialNumber=2 The owner was really pleased with the results of the car after we were finished with it. While we did pick up a decent amount of power, the thing he said he was most impressed with was the improved driveability of the car. On the previous tune the car would buck and surge if you tried to hold it steady in a 25 mph zone. The car always felt like it was either in too high of a gear or too low. There was no in between. Now you can cruise the car through those 25mph zones nice and smoothly just like you could when the car was stock. The owner also commented that the was more responsive and the new tune eliminated the shfiting hesitation issue he had on the old tune. For us, those types of responses are what makes doing this enjoyable!
-
Yeah, they are nice wheels. The customer was really pleased with the how the rears looked but the way the front wheel looked sort of dated the car a bit. The rear had a nice deep dish and looked great and the front really didnt have a dish at all. They kind of clashed a bit.
-
Another subtle touch to the car was the addition of a set of clear front corner lenses to replace the factory orange units. They dont stick out much but they definitely help carry the silver/black theme across the car much better than the orange did. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6647&g2_serialNumber=2 The stock orange for comparison purposes http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6650&g2_serialNumber=1 One of the last touches we did was wrap the front trunk and the rear decklid spoiler in flat black. (apparently I forgot to get a pic after the spoiler was done....) http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6665&g2_serialNumber=1 Since the entire rear engine/trans/axle assembly was out of the car and with the addition of the new wheels and tires, we went ahead and did a complete 4 wheel alignment on the car to make sure everything tracked properly before delivery http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6671&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6674&g2_serialNumber=2 The last step before delivery was an ecu flash and to hit the dyno to make sure everything was in line. From the factory the car was rated at 415 hp and 415 tq at the crank. The end result was 400 awhp and 485 awtq through the automatic transmission! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6680&g2_serialNumber=1

We recently were asked to pick up one of our customers 996 Turbo Porshe's for a few performance upgrades, a new set of wheels, new exhaust, window tint, and some exterior changes. We had done a few other vehicles for the customer prior with good results, so he asked us to tackle this one for him as well. The car is a 2002 911 Turbo. The main goals were to improve the performance a little while maintaining driveability and to update the looks of the car. We started out by sending our driver with our enclosed car hauler to pick up the car. When we got it the car was completely stock with the exception of the aftermarket 3 piece wheels. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6619&g2_serialNumber=1 The car immediately hit the rack and parts began to be laid out in preparation for installation. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6623&g2_serialNumber=1 The work we were going to be doing required dropping the engine/trans assembly, so the rear valance was removed to begin the process http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6626&g2_serialNumber=1 We started out with a new set of headers for the car http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6629&g2_serialNumber=1 We also added a more aggressive sounding Billy Boat exhaust system with dual tips http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6632&g2_serialNumber=1 A larger throttle body was also on the agenda http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6635&g2_serialNumber=1 More efficient intercoolers were also installed http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6638&g2_serialNumber=1 With the motor dropped out, we installed a larger intake plenum and larger diameter cold side piping. Pre-made piping is available for the manual transmission cars but since this car is a tiptronic version, we ended up custom making the cold side piping. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6641&g2_serialNumber=1 With the motor/trans back in the car, the new exhaust could be installed http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6644&g2_serialNumber=1 After the motor was reinstalled, we went ahead and recharged the ac system http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6668&g2_serialNumber=1 Up next on the car was a new set of 1 piece forged CEC wheels wrapped in Nitto tires http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6653&g2_serialNumber=1 We also treated the car to tint all the way around http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6656&g2_serialNumber=1 While it is subtle detail, we went ahead and custom painted the rear bumper inserts to match the car. From the factory they were black abs plastic and stuck out like a sore thumb. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6659&g2_serialNumber=1 The dual tips from the exhaust were a perfect fit and combined with the color matching bumper inserts, they really updated the rear end of the vehicle http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6662&g2_serialNumber=1

We sell it in 55 gallon drums if you ever want to buy that much. It really inst all that expensive to do it that way...
-
Haha...I know, I know....I didnt get any vids of this one. We have been absolutely hammered lately and we spent more time on this car than we had originally anticipated which didnt leave me anytime to get the videos or anything. It was worth it though as the customer was pleased with the results.
-
I am pretty sure I have videos somewhere. Ill have to dig it up and put something together for it. We finished this car about a month ago. I just have had zero time to get things posted up.

This car was brought to us from a customer for a custom tune. The car had a cam in it, 1.7 ratio rockers, milled/ported heads from Bishoff Racing and Corsa exhaust. When we got it, it had some driveability issues, mainly surging due to the cam but all that was solved in the tune. The car sounded flat out awesome at idle. Of course it is hard not to love a car that simply sits there and shakes when sitting still.... http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6504&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6509&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6515&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6518&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6521&g2_serialNumber=2 The car made great power! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6542&g2_serialNumber=2 On the test drive after the tune, I noticed the car felt light in the front end and it really wasnt stable at all. The customer said he felt the same thing but thought it was all in his head, so he had us check the alignment. The car was far enough out that it warranted aligning. Afterwards the car felt much more stable and you could confidently give the car progressive throttle through a corner, something you could have never done prior. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6536&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6533&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6539&g2_serialNumber=2
