  1. The one for the porcelain is designed to push the porcelain down until it bottoms out in the sleeve and then hopefully you can tap it and grab it with the removal tool. I have had one that the porcelain broke above the crimp and with the porcelain bottomed out it I still couldnt get the tap in enough to get a good hold of the sleeve.
  2. Unfortunately that is not always the case. For the most part it works pretty well but there are going to be a few here and there that will not come out. Ive done several sets and have always followed that procedure. I have never had a set break in a stang but I have had a few F150's where nothing we could do would prevent the plug from snapping. Having a 2 piece spark plug just is not a good idea period. The best way to prevent it is preventative maintenance by getting the plugs out early, using antisieze on the joint, and replacing the plugs often.
  3. 90k is ridicoulous on one of those cars. From the sounds of it, you did okay. It really sucks when the porcelain breaks inside the sleave. I have seen the porcelain break right above the collar and the only way to get it out safely was to remove the cylinder head.
  4. We do a ton of nav installs at the shop. All of our installs are nice and clean. We solder all of our harness, no butt connectors or anything to work loose over time. Give us a call on Monday and we can set something up for you 740-549-2828
  5. We carry the Brisk one piece spark plugs in stock that fix this problem. They are not cheap but they wont break either plus they are gappable without a special tool.
  6. $3.50 a foot. We normally only sell in rolls of 25' and it is around $7 a foot, but I have a roll that only has about 10 feet on it that we can sell off of. If you call in ask for Scott or myself and we will get you taken care off.
  7. We stock 0 guage in Lewis Center and can get it to you by the foot.
  8. That was a guy with a mullet not a chick. The mustache should have gave it away.
  9. The K&N kit is pretty decent but they still tend to be off a litttle. The last Mustang I did with one was lean all the way across the board. I have also seen them fat down low and then transfer over to lean up top on the same car. This is fine on the stock tune as it can be leaned out a little to pick up power any way. The problems come when you put a programmer on there that leans the a/f out even further and you were already lean from the cai to begin with. Without tuning the car and correcting the maf, the computer thinks it is fatter than what it really is and timing and is adding in spark based on what it thinks a/f is. If you are leaner than what the computer thinks it is, this can be a bad thing.
  10. Which cold air kit are you using. Any cold air kit on your 06 GT will require a tune as the maf curve gets thrown out of wack any time you change the way air flows across the meter. Some of the handheld programmers have tunes in them for specific cai's but even then they can be off a little. A custom tune is definately the way to go but as long as you are using a handheld that is designed to work with your cold air kit you should be fine. Also keep in mind that if you are thinking about using the preloaded tunes now and a possible tune later, you want to make sure that there is someone that has the software to tune the handheld you purchased. I recommend the SCT X3 as we are a SCT Custom tuning dealer. We also have calibrator level access which gives us the ability to tune all of the drive by wire functions as well.
  11. I would recommend having the guy get the code scanned so you can see what you are dealing with before you go up there. If it has a lot of codes, it could be a headache. On the flip side, if it only has one or two, it still may not be a walk in the park as different tuning software can shut codes off that should have possibly been kept. Did he give you a reason why the ac was never installed? Are they using the computer from the 99?
  12. Saw this today and thought it was funny.
  13. The frame flex test is pretty cool to watch and probably the only test they did that couldnt be skewed too much by the driver. All of the new trucks out right now are pretty good. I get to see all of the trucks up close and personal inside and out and that influences what I drive. My F150 has been great and Ford has made some pretty cool changes to the 09 that should make them even better.

    Well....

I broke my left wrist in 11 places a couple of years back. Had to have a plate put in. The couldnt cast it so they put on one of those external devices with the pins drilled into the bone. Completely sucked. Columbus hand and microsurgery did the surgery on mine. I have very good use of my hand but I have never got complete feeling back into my arm or the lower part of my hand. Anyway, good luck on the recovery.
  15. Maf will adapt faster to temp and weather changes.
  16. Agreed, Canadian side is much better.
  17. I personally like the last one the best. It looks a little more modern in my opinion.
  18. That first one is great.
  19. I can see if I can get one for your Audi!! Just kidding. The light reflecting from the different body line angles makes the front lip stick out more in the pics than it does in real life. I have had more than one person think that the whole front bumper was swapped and at least one of those persons has a pretty good eye for detail. To all of those that had something nice to say, I appreciate it. To those that dont like it, I am okay with that as well. Not every has the same likes and tastes and I can appreciate that as well. All of the leather and suede came in for it today, so I am hoping to get it knocked out over the weekend or sometime next week. The tough part is that customers vehicles always come first.
  20. No, I took a family sedan and made it the way that I wanted it!
  21. Overall, I am very happy with how the car sits. There is about 3/4" clearance between the tire and spring mount but I definitely wouldnt go any taller on the tire. I really wanted to stick with 18" wheels but I couldnt find anything that I liked so I settled for the 20"s. The car still rides great. Obviously you can feel a little bit more of the road through the tires but it is very minor. If I decide to lower it, it wouldnt be until the spring or summer, I just havent made my mind up on that yet. The car really does look alot different in person. The pictures dont really do it justice. The stock grill has kind of a darker tint to it already and matches the wheels almost dead on. I do like the idea of the smoked tails but I am content with the car where it is at. One of the things that I have learned over the years is to do the vehicle how you want it. Some people will like it, others will hate it. It is all about enjoying owning the car. I personally like to have things one off. I dont want a cookie cutter car but I want it to look like it could be original. It is cool when someone climbs in a vehicle and knows something has changed from stock but they cant quite put their finger on it. That is what makes it fun for me.
