1. I say don't do it. I think most of us have entertained that idea once in a while, but how much worse can the idea get? You're going to entertain yourself by watching movies instead of the road? My thoughts were that I'd just play things that were dominantly auditory, i.e. sit-coms and the like... but you're still going to look down every now and then... If you would be embarressed telling people why you crashed, you shouldn't be doing whatever you're doing.
2. I just moved from SC, so I've seen lots... and from all the sources I've checked, they're quite rare here in OH, so I'd bet that people are seeing look-alikes, and not the real mccoy... Post some pics up if you think you've found one, I'd be fascinated.
3. Last year I ran an 11.73 at Trails on 16" goodyear F1's. If I can get the balance of sticky tires (e/t streets) and 10-bolt to work out, I should be able to get my 2.001 60' down to a 1.7/1.8 and hit an 11.5 on motor, then spray it into the low 10s... Only time will tell though! I'm planning on getting some heads before spring season, so that'll be my biggest gain in the near future...
4. Lol, you might have... what'd you buy? When do I get to see your bird?
5. If it's not a chop, he must've been booking it! Look at the angles coming from the ramp!
6. I'd make it a 427, low compression motor with C5R heads; Pending clearance... I might go with a twin screw, say a Kenne Belle or a maggie, with a fogger. Otherwise I'd go for twins, something conservative, just looking to make 1200-1300 rwhp on 93 octane... Oh, and btw, this is the ideal plan for me in the next 18-24 months... though I'll probably go the easy way and just stroke an LQ9 to a 408 and use APS or Incon Twins in a nicely assembled kit...
7. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n210/drsites/DSC02648.jpg Before hood and spoiler- SCFYB calendar shot http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n210/drsites/DSC03483.jpg B&W shot as she sits now http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n210/drsites/DSC03507.jpg Just a personal favorite... http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/515826495.jpg[/img] Another one I like, old hood though...
8. mods, eh? Let's see what I can remember real quick: K&N FIPK, Ported MAF, P&P TB, Comp XER281HR, Manley rods, Comp 918s, MSD wires, NGK TR6s, QTP 1 3/4 LTs, 3" Dr. Gas X-pipe, Dual Magnaflow 14x9" single chambers, QTP dual electric cutouts, STB, Spohn SFCs, Spohn adjustable LCAs, Koni yellows, Pro 5.0 shifter, Lou's short stick, SLP Line Lock, Optima Red top, HSW Sudden Impact Dry kit, T/A support girdle (on 10 bolt #4, lol) tuned by CSS. Appearance wise it's got a CF SS-style hood, SS spoiler, 69 Scripts over 67 V-flags on the fenders, 69 Z/29 emblem on a stull billet grill, Lit Berger-style panel, 18" C6 wheels (picking up some SS 10 spokes tomorrow to roll on for awhile), and a handful of other little things... it's a work in progress, it needs a bit more suspension (panhard bar, torque arm, LCA relo brackets), a new clutch, a good set of heads to match the cam, and for God's sake, a 9"!
9. I'm thinking there's something else going on with the T/A and the Z/SS... .2 is too much for drag, Camaros aren't big squares ya know? guess I gotta go look up some other sources...
10. Not looking too great from the top, but who knows, can't say I'd like my car from the top either... who the hell takes a picture at that angle?
11. Definitely get under the car first; Great price, but I'd say that's indicative of substantial damage...
12. How much were they asking? I'm not in the market or anything, just wondering what they're selling for these days.
13. Agreed, but as a general rule they should always try to stop the pursuit without using force first; A great number of chases end when the cop just hangs tight.
14. Apparently you've seen my car, lol. Have we actually met, or did you just take note of it? I'll see about getting some pics of it up in a bit.
15. Someone that retarded... I'd much rather have him dead than pay taxes to house him in prison... Sucks to be the owner of the Monte... "Sir, we found your car, but we blew the thiefs chest out all over the interior, we'll clean it for you."
16. I second that, just go for the rod-ends. A bit noisier, but one less thing to worry about, and structure goes +1
17. Either one has proven pretty effective; I'd throw a manual valvebody in there too, just for good measure. Built TH400s are nice just because they're interchangeable with a lot of setups, i.e. easy to sell if you ever change directions with the car.
18. I'd say VHT 'em. Fairly easily reversed, and if you are buying something else, it's a nice cheap first step...
19. Just go drive a Cobra, it'll answer the question for ya...
20. Hey guys, just moved back to Columbus, been educatin' myself in SC for the past 5 years... So what's the scene up here these days? I'm lookin for some people to hang out with that can continue to motivate my modding... I'm presently working up at Advance on Bethel, so some of you may have seen my car around already. Want to get back out to National Trails, but I'm in need of some serious safety crap... eh... we'll see. I don't mind the old boot...
