  1. Did your insurance take care of you on it? I have declared values on my stuff just incase something happens like this. sucks

Unfortunately I didn't have an agreed upon value with my insurer, for a long time no classic car insurers wanted to insure it due to seeing it as "just a truck"

I did have an appraisal clause though, so that helped significantly and I guess I could say I'm "happy" about what I got from insurance.

  2. Any update on this?

He posted on Facebook either yesterday or today that there's been no news.

Eli is correct, unfortunately my truck hasn't been found. :(

Slowly starting to hunt for something as a replacement, not sure what that'll be yet though.

  3. Fuck sponsors. This is the same commercialized stuff we have made fun of for years. Now we just copy what the other group already did? I go to Hilliard C&C now

You mean the one that's sponsored by Honest Speed Shop? :dumb:

You mean the one that can fit like a dozen cars in their lot...maybe.

Also in what way are we copying anyone? Byers reached out to us. There's literally no monetary gain here.

Edit: According to your reddit history, you also REALLY liked going to meets put on by that "other group."

  4. Yep, you read that right. My S10 got stolen, I’m on my phone currently or I’d post pictures. I believe it was stolen over this past weekend. Please keep an eye out for it. Contact myself or Sunbury PD if you have any information or see anything.
  5. Trek store on sawmill. Johnny Velo Bikes on High St in Clintonville. Breakaway Cycling in Delaware was my go to for a long time.

Avoid big box stores at pretty much all costs, unless you want an absolute piece of shit regardless of much you pay.

  6. 140 for an engine is cheap. If you work somewhere that ships a lot of freight though, you may be able to have them ship it collect on their account (if they allow the employees to do so). Businesses that ship a lot usually get a pretty good discounted rate.

It's just an engine block that's brand new in the crate. Probably weighs about 85-90lbs with the crate.

But that's a solid idea, we do a ton of shipping with UPS so I might see what our rate is or I could just take the shipping tag along with me.

  7. I'll be down in Texas at the end of the month, I bought an engine block I need to pickup while I'm down there. I need to ship it back but UPS was $140 to ship it back to a business address.

Has anyone used Fastenal or Greyhound bus service for shipping? I've heard they are a much cheaper alternative, just takes a little longer to get to its destination.

  8. Back to the topic at hand, I don't buy for a second that this has anything to do with a "carbon neutrality pledge". BEVs are simply going to make ICEVs economically unviable in the very near future.

I see that the pledge excludes heavy duty pickups (2040) which I'm assuming includes a base model Silverado, and probably excludes all commercial trucks for all time. But I guess we'll see.

1/2t through 1t are generally considered light duty trucks.

  9. I liked working with Bob Proffit at Performance Research. Not sure if they are still around though.

Performance Research is still around, unfortunately Bob passed last March.

They've been impossible for me to get ahold though, I just need an aluminum blocked check before I order a crank.

  10. Only know about M&M in Delaware, and unless something has changed in the last couple of years, its a total dump and a disorganized mess. Last time I had work done there, they literally gave me someone else's cylinder heads. If you can get by that, they will get the job done.

M&M is a shit hole as Pat said, I don't understand why people go back.

When I had my BMW M42B18 4-cylinder head in for a 3-angle valve job and rebuild, I took it to NAPA on 161. They obviously farm out the machine work, but it was less than $500 for all the machine work, new valve seals, cam bearings and reinstall, etc...and was done on time.

Mike at M&M had the head for a couple of months on the floor of his shop and never touched it.

I forgot who recommended NAPA (Nickey?) but it was a great option.

Most likely me, NAPA does pretty good work! Randy's Machine Shop is another I would trust with checking out stock stuff.
