HAs anyone here made their own intake pip using PVC? More specifically, for a turbo application? If so, did you have anuy issues with it? From what I have read, PVC melts at 400f, so for most of the pipe I am not concerned about the under hood temps, but with the end feeding into the compressor housing being so close to the turbine housing and exhaust manifold, I don't know if it will get that hot or no...
I used pvc and the silicon clamps from jegs on my old 5.0, was great and the price was a plus.
If you're concerned, you could always run regular piping away from the compressor and then use pvc. Why the red green fab though?

You made it to 3:55?????
Yep. Inadvertently. I started the vid and went back to read cr's general opinions and to view other new forum posts. Heard it in the background. :lolguy:
-
3:55 seemed like a quicker pull.
I would not own one with their current power options but if they had a turbo version it would spark my interest.
Suby guru's - How close is the engine in one of those things to an sti? Possibly do a transplant?
-
Eh... they have all been interesting in their own respect. At least they had some new ideas. I do miss the Subaru sound though.

Sorry girl but I don't break up happy homes.
Par for the course, if it was a happy home she would not have mentioned it.

Yep usually 100-105 depending on the blend. Do it, you wont look back.. my hatch with a 93/e85 mix had so much more pep than on straight 93.
I think for the cost of it, the benefits of the fuel and the fact that I want boost in the near future, that e85 would be worth it.
-
Go e85.
Cheaper than 87, equivalent to 110, burns clean and cool, eats up timing. People have made more power on e85 than they did on C16.
example:

Not saying that you or your source are wrong, but I read somewhere (no, not a lot of reading either) that e85 was closer to 105 octane?
I read mostly on LS1Tech and if I have spare cash here in the next few months, I plan to go e85 anyways.

I know everyone has a favorite.. Mine might not look great to some. But I really enjoy this downtown shot.

Were you free standing with this shot or did you rest the camera on something or a tripod? Regardless Its a great picture, just looks like a tiny movement blurred some of the light based parts of the pic.

You are most likely looking at a cluster problem. If you had a speed sensor issue, you would get a DTC light and the other speed sensors would give the cluster the correct information. Along with that you would see abs/traction control(if equipped) off as well.
I had a '98 Explorer that I bought off of Alex(was El Borracho for a while), It was a great little beater, but occasionally it would freak out and the tach would go way north of the scale. I have a video of it somewhere, it would actually smack the speedo needle at times... lol.

Can you get an inspection mirror and look back there to see if it is constantly contacting the carrier?
To me, It looks like the one or both of the bearings went, causing the pinion to shift in the housing to catch the carrier like that.
It's either something like that or whoever set the pinion depth is clinically retarded.

That sucks that you all lost power. Growing up in Westerville I can honestly say the power was only ever out by design (work on utilities or upgrades) In pretty much all the storms, whether summer or winter storms, we never lost power.
I am in South Carolina, so we definitely never lost power here, but my parents are selling their house in Annehurst Village (NW from the Cleveland Ave/Main St. intersection) and the neighbors say the power did go out, however came back on less than 4 hours later. :gabe:

This is not old news. This is a big improvement over the old way, which was basically just caching your route. Now you actually select a whole area of a map and download it.
You could download entire regions of the us map last fall... I tried it, then said hell with it when it raped my phones storage.

I have seen the rokus on woot and wondered if they were any good
I bought my parents one, they used it for a good solid month. They still use it, but not every day. It works great because it has access to more than just netflix.

Sounds like it. Maybe he missed my email who knows. .
Well, good luck and make him pay in full or at least a percentage prior to work.
-
+1 for kill it with fire.
-
but he emailed me about getting squared away
You mean he's going to pay you now?
-
So you're going to let this fucktard keep your harddrive? And you did 8 hours of work for him for free? I'd take one of the wheels off that intl truck he has out front of the shop as collateral.
+1. I have mixed feelings for you though. You knew he was shady before doing the work, right? Regardless, I wouldn't call david a gentlemen. Get your money or something of greater value.

I noticed this last night. Sometimes when I watch gun reviews I will google the name/model of the gun to see what it sells for on average. I have tried a few gun names off the top of my head and they don't show shopping results.
This was working less than a week ago...

I edited this photo a little to make it more clear... To me it looks like a 90's cadillac or buick..
Key points that I can barely make out
-sharp corner front fender
-corner light that curves around the fender
-possibly 4 door
-Flat trunk with a large rear window
-Back corner of the roof to trunk goes from wide to thin
-tail lights look squared and slanted
Buck???

+1, I know I have seen a car with those wide rectangle tail lights before, I just cant remember the detail of what it was.

Where would i get those steam passage block offs, and the LS6 cross-over for the front? Would the LS6 manifold have the crossover attached to the bottom of it if i bought a used one? Or does that depend if the person left it on or took it off? Do you have a pic of what your talking about?
The steam passages are attached to the cylinder heads. Go out and look at your car. Its a tube underneath the throttle body that bolts to both heads. Like evil8 said, the stock ls1 steam tube connects to all 4 corners and will not fit under the ls6 intake.
I would use google or hop on ls1tech, there has go to be someone that has improvised before.

Never heard of this clown. Hope he wrecks his car one day into a concrete median divider.
¿Que?

I got married on Friday, got a call at 1030 hours Friday morning from a neighbor I am friends with saying my garage door and my front door are open. No one was supposed to be there so he entered the house and called CPD for me. I busted ass home and found all three tv's gone, Xbox/PS3, her nook, both laptop, kinect sensor, luggage, my dirty clothes hamper, my watch winder and 6 watches all gone. Her jewelry and our wedding gifts remain.
CPD seems to think they gained access via our sliding glass back door bouncing it off track or un locked. Backed a car into our garage an closed the door and loaded it up and drove off. They where there for some time and all indications is they where going to come back again. Non of my firearms or knives are gone so the ATF won't be involved.
That sucks. I'm sure the biggest thing the took from you is your peace of mind. I really hope that CPD and/or Karma gets them back.

Yep. Looks like your average high end performance shop.

I want to get wheels for my black camaro do u guys think his style whel would look good on my 01 z.
I don't see why not. This is where I got them. These wheels and their finish is rock solid. I've convinced 10 others to buy from OE, all of whom had a perfect experience.

Haha... I wonder how much boost you could get pvc to hold anyways...
