check voltage to the pump ,low voltage will burn them up too.

turn the heat on go outside and see if the air is warm or cold ,if cold its a heat pump if its warm its running air cond .does ur thermostate have emergemcy heat switch on it ?if it does its a heat pump too.

they usally go from the crank to the breather like on a car .but i sounds like if your getting that much oil coming out ,the rings are letting go .
