  1. Trolling CL hasn't turned up what I need so please check your leftovers if you have them.

I am looking for some used parts for a 3rd Gen Camaro w/TPI:

    1) Long tube headers

    2) Performance TPI runners (intake considered as well)

    3) 58mm throttle body (52mm considered)

    4) Throttle body airfoil

    5) Adjustable track rod / rear control arms

    8) 1.6 ratio stamped steel rocker arms

    9) Performance replacement PROM

    10) Strut Tower brace

Let me know what you've got and a price - last minute Christmas cash waiting...

Or, can trade Fire Arrow, Kart(s) and stuff if interested.

call Astro Auto 2483 Dry Creek Rd NE, Granville, OH 43023

    (740) 366-5342

its a GM only salvage yard, The guy's name is Scott(weird dude) he should have most of what your looking for, BUT he knows what he has and what its worth. He sells cars too, I bought a 89 Iroc-Z from him back in 2005 for $1600.00

  2. Tool wise ive only bought one set of impact sockets that I wish I didnt. I bought it because it had a 17mm and it was half off. I've only used the 17mm socket twice for vw's, worst lug idea ever too. Other than that I bought a long sleeve matco shirt for winter so I wasnt wearing my good ones, and a pink beanie hat for bella..

you can buy just 1 socket off the tool trucks, they'll break up a set without a problem, now the shirt and beanie was a waste of money, you can buy that stuff from any store

  3. I've been a tech for 18yrs(Acura Master Tech) and I can say there IS a huge difference in the tools you use, just because those cheap HF tools have a lifetime warranty doesn't make them a good quality tool or even reliable at that, cheap sockets will round the head of a bolt, cheap screwdrivers will strip out the head of a screw etc...

Yes the tools on the Mac, Snap-on, Cornwell & Matco tool trucks are expensive BUT you make payments on, ONLY BUY what you need, you can add to your tool wants later if you buy something to have it and not use it then your doing it wrong.

    another thing to know is:

Mac tools are made by Stanley tools

Husky tools are made by Stanley tools

Blackhawk tools are made by Stanely tools

Matco tools are made by Danaher

Craftsman tools are made by Danaher (before they were made by Stanley)

Kobalt tools are made by Danaher (before they were made by Snap-on)

Blue-Point tools are made by Snap-on

Snap-on tools are made by Snap-on

S-K tools are made by FACOM

Cornwell tools are made by Cornwell

so in reality there are 3 major tools company's in the U.S. and they are:

    Snap-on, Stanley and Danaher.

here's a fun fact about those expensive tool trucks:

Snap-on tools located in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Matco tools located in Stow, Ohio

Mac tools located in Columbus, Ohio (Westerville to be exact)

Cornwell tools located in Wadsworth, Ohio

  4. my provider is Time Warner, I have 2 HD DVR boxes, the fastest internet they offer and pretty much basic cable with 0 movie channels(they call it the starter TV/Standard TV/HD PAK) and I pay $169.19 a month. I've been with Insight since 2004 until Time Warner bought them out recently(Bill went up $2.00 when that happened), so basicly I've been with the same company for 10 years this month and I still get NO breaks on rates.
  5. So the issue may be Withers? How many people feel Urban just pieced together a staff quickly for the sake of having a staff in place to hit the recruiting trail? Meaning that a lot of these guys aren't really Urban type guys. I think Fickell was kept as a favor for him basically taking one for the team the previous year, now it's a losing situation. If he's the problem and you fire him you'll have people screaming about how he was an OSU guy. If you keep him and the problem persist, well then you have people crying cause it's his fault.

If guys haven't figured out how to play their role in the defense by their 4th and 5th year, is that really a coaching error or a player issue?

some of the players probably get confused between zone coverage vs. man coverage, if that's the case its a mixture of both the coaching and the player(s)

  6. Cool, thanks for chiming in, everything you said makes total sense. You wouldn't happen to know where I can buy just one of these wheels do you?

Not sure about straightening the wheel, any idea on cost? And would you trust a previously bent wheel that was was straightened, or just buy a used 'good' one?

my cost on a NEW factory wheel is $334.16 + core, that maybe why AoC was so high, search http://www.car-parts.com see what they have,as far as having the wheel repaired I think that's all based on how bad it is(that link I posted earlier has pricing), as far as trusting the repair again that depends on how badly bent it is, I've seen some wheels that were bent badly but come back looking new, I don't trust their balance methods based on how/where they place the wheel weights.

  7. UPDATE:

Acura of Columbus found the following needing replaced:

    Right front lower control arm

    Hub and bearing

    (Bent) Wheel

They wanted and astronomical amount of money for labor, so I am taking it to ZB and Todd at Sigmatec to do the work, and I am sourcing a new wheel myself, since Acura wanted $550 for a new wheel.

Car should be done Friday, hopefully this does the trick.

Damn, why am I just now seeing this thread? I work at Lindsay Acura, I've been there going on 18 years(Acura Master Tech). If you have any questions about your MDX let me know and I'll see if I can help.

I can't speak much about Acura of Columbus except that a lot of their customers find their way over to us.

few things I'm sure you already know by now:

    1. the VSA light will come on if the steering wheel is off center

    2. 99.9% of the time the lower control arm will be the issue when camber/caster is out, the only adjustable item on Acura cars is the Toe.

    3. the shop that offered to elongate the holes shouldn't be in business, worst advice ever.

    4. since the wheel got bent chances are the hub/bearing is bad too, like AoC stated. Now depending on the wheel damage it can be fixed, we use wheel professionals quite often:

  8. Here's how the system is going to work...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Football_Playoff

would be cool if they would award home field advantage to the 2 teams with the best records, that would make weather an advantage.

I still wanna see an SEC team play in the cold, they always say come down to the south and play in the heat, I bet your teams can't do it...have you been to Ohio? its hot as fuck in late spring/summer/fall and ball shriveling cold in late fall/winter. We get all the elements.

  9. I think most years, at least at the start, we'll be seeing 2 SEC teams and 2 other conference champions.

they should keep the 4 major bowl games(Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta) and advance the winners into the playoff, that way each conference has a chance, the at large teams still have a chance. Plus the Rose Bowl can go back to the traditional PAC 12 vs B1G. Everyone wins! the conference's, T.V. networks and us the fans

  10. Florida State's defense is straight legit. I've been saying that for weeks now. They are going to fucking hammer Auburn and I am going to laugh hysterically when they do. Fuck off Auburn and fuck off SEC.

I hope FSU hangs 60-70pts on Auburn. If Auburn wins I really don't wanna here anymore SEC bullshit from any of the media, mainly ESPN. They'll brag about how the SEC dominated the BCS National Championship game era and will dominate the playoff system when they get all four spots. Most likely the four spots will go to the 4 major conference champions...lets hope.

  11. Would you rather -

    Alabama?

    Stanford?

    Oregon?

    Missouri?

    Oklahoma State?

    Baylor?

    UCF? (Okay here)

I would prefer a NON sec team as to avoid the pitfalls of the potential in loosing to the super conference. The acc on the flip side is weak, like the B1G, so they are on our level.

But on that list, I think we loose to all those teams, some in shoot outs, some in blow outs. So from my perspective Clemson is the best case for us.

lets just hope Meyer doesn't choke a Clemson player :lolguy:

  12. So, are you trying to say that you think the Ohio State offensive game plan was fine? Serious question.

I get your argument about that one play (the 4th and 1). But, what I am saying pertains more to the game planning in general.

    OSU game plan::

Defense: MSU has a mediocre offense, please don't fuck this one away

Offense: Give ball to the Superheisman, beat MSU with your feet, if need be throw the ball to our best WR C. Hyde, steal Heisman votes from J. Winston in the process... :fuuuu:

  13. Honestly with the run numbers our backfield puts up, I'm not sure why we ever pass more than 10 or so times a game. Works for other teams, why wouldn't a triple run option work for us?

that's the way I see it, run the ball down their throat until the opposing defense starts to creep up on the line then air it out, rinse lather and repeat...

  14. I've been stewing over Ohio State not coming up big in big games. I can't really remember anything before the Coopera era, so that doesn't really count for me. So, basically the BCS era is what I'm thinking about.

The only game that comes to mind in which it was a big game - a bowl game, a big OOC game, or a big division game - in which Ohio State just beat the hell out of a team was the 2005 Fiesta Bowl when we handled Notre Dame. But even that wasnt really a blow out.

We beat Notre Dame twice in the 1990s. Neither was a blow out.

We beat Michigan twice in Cooper era. Neither was a blow out.

We won two bowl games that I can remember under Cooper - the Rose bowl against Arizona state (which was a thriller) and TAM in 1998 (after we choked against MSU!), which was a convincing win but not a blow out.

We got throttled by Florida state in 1997 sugar bowl.

We got beat in so many bowls under cooper era. Tennessee and South Carolina come to mind.

We got annihilated by Penn State in 1994. That was a matchup of ranked teams.

We lost to Texas at home in 2005. (Of course everyone lost to Texas that year.) we beat them in 2006, but not a blow out.

We got killed by Florida, LSU, and USC. Then USC beat us again at home.

We win 24 games in a row and none of them are either against a highly ranked opponent or what people consider a quality win.

Help me see something I'm missing here. Because this is depressing.

may not be convincing wins BUT they're still wins

  15. Sorry, now that I have wiped my tears and came off depression watch, I can post again...

I have to say, I am going to miss the UC vs UL games... they are always great games, unfortunately the last two years have gone the wrong way, and BOTH times we had to deal with our top QB being hurt... Not making excuses but no way did having Kay hurt the entire 2nd half help us... And a rare drop by McClung doesnt happen, and I am in a very different mood today.

Disappointing end to a strange season under yet another new head coach. I saw some flashes of greatness and some points of confusion this year, including 2 losses that were total head scratchers... The loss to Illinois, which our top QB was still hurt from his shoulder and our #2 goes out for the rest of the season in the middle of hte game, was disappointing. the loss to USF was unexplainable and weird... we have OWNED USF since we joined the BE, so that is really what made the season tough. It really boiled down to last night to explain the season, and we played tough football in shitty weather and unfortunately the cards didnt turn our way.

I just hope we have done enough to help our resume to get out of this stupid AAC. We beat a Rutgers team going to B1G and the lowly Purdue team, and held our own against the hot commodity that is UL going to ACC... I kinda want to find our way to B12...

I only hope some of you got to watch the game and can maybe have a bit of respect for us little guys down south. ;)

PS, if you did see the game, you have to admit we sure do have some BADASS uniforms for special games.

I root for all Ohio teams unless they're playing the Buckeyes
