  1. damn guys, just get a filter relocation kit if it's that bad.
  2. no, i lost hope when i came to the realization that all of their vehicles are mediocre at best. even their top vehicles are nothing more than 'average' vs their competition. i mean, both the aveo and cobalt are crap, the malibu is middle of the pack, the impala is crap, and both the new camaro and the corvette have a reputation for their subpar interiors. the lacrosse and lucerne are mediocre, and the enclave is crap. the STS is still a 2004 model that was mediocre when it first came out, the DTS is junk, the SRX is mediocre, the escalade has always been mediocre(as if rappers cared about interior quality). GMs great cars are great cars - for GM. vs the competition how ever, they are mediocre at best(cadillac still has a ways to go to match BMW, audi, and MB, even with the CTS). who knows, maybe the cruze will be a class leader for once, but i'm certainly not getting my hopes up. good to know that there is still some working going on with HCCI, haven't look into it in a while. i think that OEMs were just being lazy with DI too, considering how long diesels have used it.
  3. don't like it, fawkin ugly! that, and it's a GM. i was really pulling for them for a while, but i realize more and more as time goes on that they are being ran by completely incompetent jackasses and will more than likely continue to make a shit product(first hand experience with a '99 monte carlo 3.1l and current '02 sunfire[AKA, the cavalier with the "make it shittier" package]). now i feel like a moron for supporting the bailout. if i were in the market for a car this size, and i did like the cruze, i would still wait for the redesigned ford focus. it's bound to be a much better car, even though the cruze will beat it in sales(because americans actually are stupid). it sure seems like a 'race to last place' between the 2. it doesn't seem like any automaker is really putting forth a whole lot of effort to get diesels cars over here or to develop a production worthy HCCI engine. i've read about numerous manufacturers having HCCI prototypes(ford had an HCCI explorer in the late 90's for example), but it always seemed like they treated more as 'toys' rather than future development.
  4. i really want to say "i'd rock one!", but i just don't think i could bring my self to do it. put a real bike engine on it and i would consider it(sleeper bike?), but i still don't know if i could bring my self to ride one of those... things.
  5. lol, just joking guys(i probably could've emphasized that a little more).
  6. ...the audi 5000 had quite the reputation for 'unintended acceleration'...
  7. i don't see a problem here. it's just a preliminary recall, to prevent what could happen, possibly, under specific circumstances, blah blah blah. there are tons of recalls like these.
  8. i always watch them at hartford and muskingum, good shit!
  9. not the same thing. the guys that don't run on the track or dyno don't park on it, they park in the parking lot. you know, where cars are meant to park.
  10. i think the focus is one of the best looking small cars. well, the first gen anyways. can't wait for the next focus to show up, great looking car!
  11. you won't gain much of anything with bolt ons(especially over the factory header), so you pretty much have to start with boost to get more power out of the 2.0l. a tune helps drive ability a LOT though. the transmission is a getrag 6 speed, same one used in the mini cooper S, so it's a pretty solid piece. the factory clutches are known for going out, so an aftermarket piece is pretty much a necessity.
  12. i really like it! i don't think it would be too popular with most people, but i would put it on mine.
  13. diesel power did an article on the car, very cool! http://www.dieselpowermag.com/features/0610dp_2006_biodiesel_volkswagen_golf/index.html the engine actually doesn't have much done to it at all, and it's putting out 370lb-ft!
  14. c'mon dude, i'm trying to act like i know what i'm talking about!!!
  15. water/meth injection and compound boosting too, both with multiple turbos and turbos feeding into a supercharger.
  16. that awesome piece of potential misinformation was gathered from this article... http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/electronic_fuel_injection/index.html and most of what i(think i) know was gathered from these articles... http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/0607mmfp_ford_efi_system_tuning/index.html http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/mmfp_0612_ford_eec_efi_system/index.html http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/mmfp_0701_ford_mustang_efi_tune/index.html if these are wrong/there are better sources to learn about this, please let me know so that i legitimately know what i'm talking about(lol). i obviously don't do this stuff for a living, so i gotta learn it from somewhere. either way, there was still no need to switch this car over to SD at all.
  17. nice write ups! now you gotta try out a 2011 GT500. they didn't just add an aluminum block, ford actually made quite a few changes(see HERE).
  18. i've used it in the intake of a few vehicles, and each time i noticed a smoother idle on start up and much better throttle response. they were all pretty crappy vehicles though, so it probably isn't as noticeable on better maintained cars.
  19. i would rather have a fusion. ecoboost I4 should show up within the next year.
  20. in that case, diesels easily win(~175+HP for ~$500? yea). if it has to be gas, then an 03/04 cobra is probably numero uno.
  21. LOL, if only it worked that way. yea, i had it planned out too, then reality hit.
  22. can you even afford some of these cars??? seriously, $10k and under would be my suggestion. and stay away from the audis and DSMs for that matter, maintenance will kill you.
