  1. The comparison is 100% valid because all of the GTR people were talking about how much better it was than the ZR1. Now that it beat the GTR's time I can see this turning into an all out excuse thread in .2 seconds.

     

    id say it is, but isnt in some ways fair. like mikehaze pointed out, the GTR was tested in cooler temps, and for most boosted cars, is a big help. Plus as i read some where that the GTR was running on race tires with a better tune, and i think i also heard a better suspension?

     

    so knowing that, i would say the ZR1 kicked its ass fair and square the nissan nutswingers can blow me.

     

    but i do think a better comparison would be a Z06 with some race tires on it.

  2. If this is an Ls1 it's a royal pain to install pipes because of the location of the cats, much easier to just punch out the honeycombs. I don't know who would do this for you though, this is a big liability for a shop. Even though I did this to mine. ;)

     

    thats what i did to mine originally, but ended up putting a cut out in its place.

    like others have said, good luck with tryin to find some one to do. most places will just laugh at you if you tell them. I just ended up have to take mine out along with the piping on it and made a traced drawing for them to bend a pipe to. worked to since they didnt have to even see the car.

  4. lt1s are not 13 second cars, they are high 14s, a few mods will get you there, but stock. not a chance

     

    thats what i said lol. a few bolt ons and you will have a solid 13 car.

    ^ my point exactly. if you want something fast, why not buy something that is already decently quick anyway and start from there. with the the money your gonna waste on that civic, you could pick up a decent LT1 and maybe even a few bolt ons for it and have a solid 13 second car without even touching the motor.

    ok, so this brings me back to a point a made earlier. You say you make a decent amount of money, but then you say you have all these expenses basically. You do realize that it is gonna cost you quite a bit of money to be able to beat even a stock V8 car with that civic, even then it probably wont be all that realible with that crap your wanting to do.

     

    people are bashing you and your car because your 32 years old and talking about modding a civic, Leave that crap to the little 16 year old kids that just got their liscenses and love fast and the furious. and you call us a bunch of kids, and yea most of us are some what young, but obviously were smarter than you cause we all know better than to waste our money on a civic...

He tried to tell one of the guys working there that he had just bought this civic and it was so badass cause it had altezza tail lights, a body kit and some other random ricer crap.

  9. if you think your going to turbo charge a sohc and give it "nitrous" you will no longer have a work car

     

     

    not only that, if you dont swap the motor to at least a lesser mileage one, you wont have a running car for very long period. I wont even attempt to mod anything with 211XXX miles on it.

     

    take phils advice and get something a little more worth modding.
