Not a problem man. It shouldnt need a rebuild, but i dont know alot about hondas, but i would say maybe a new gasket of some sort at worst.

its possible, like i said, i didnt exactly get to look under the hood.

stopped and checked it out. from what i can tell (it was covered in snow) it is pretty clean inside and out and from the little i could see up underneath, it looked pretty clean also (no leaks). It is sitting on what im pretty sure is a buy here pay here lot, but couldnt find anyone to talk to about it, so i would just call the guy and ask him about timing belt and such like others have mentioned, just to be on the safe side.

I stopped by the place on my way home last night, and it is the one i thought, so ill run back by when i get off work to check it out in daylight

Ill do ya one better, im about 99% sure thats just down the road from my house. If it is, ill just stop and check it out tomorrow and let ya know

Thats odd, ive never seen it before lol. Any idea if the pulley made any on/off bearing noise before locking?
-
The little plastic elbow was the first thing i looked at when i pumped it up, but nothing from it either. Im debating on just replacing them both though just to be (hopefully) done with it. Its only like 40 bucks for both from advance and both are easy to do, but any other possibilities that cause a good loss, then practically nothing?

yea, but thats with any car bud. you can lucky/screwed with anything. and in most cases, the 10% that had good luck with those vehicles, wrote reviews, the ones who didnt, just sold them off and didnt worry about it. my point is, dont ever trust that kind of stuff written by your every day average joe as most have no clue what they are talking about. again, look at mid 90's GM cars with a series 2 3800 in them. GM cars dont hold value for shit, so they are cheap to pick up and are (usually) great all around cars. not to mention parts for them are extremely cheap, hell any junk yard with probably have 30+ cars there with these drive trains in them.

the car is a 95 olds 88, 3800 series 2. it has had a slow leak for some time, but i was sitting in a parking lot 2 days ago and heard some weird noise over my radio. by time i turned it down, the noise stopped, but when i got to work i checked under the hood to see that i had lost a decent amount of coolant out of the overflow bottle. just hooked up a pressure tester to it, it bleeding off fairly quick, but nothing leaking out that i can see, although that side of the block is fairly wet from when it evidently has leaked/been leaking. my guess is water pump because its all over that side (like it had been slung around). also from time to time, there is a weird noise coming from that side. hard to explain, but it kinda sounds like bearings grinding, but its not constant.

Either is 69 or 79 trans am with full updated suspension powered by a 454 lsx

This. Im startng to think your confused as to what you want. First you want reliable, but pick one of the biggest POS's on the road, now your wanting something big and are concerned about fuel efficiency. You need to take a step back and really figure out what you MUST have out of the vehicle and go from there.
-
I dont know where you heard that. I have 2 h bodies ( alot of the same thing as an impala, grand prix, regal, only bigger) same motors and everything (3800 v6) and i get between 18-20 around town on average and around 30 on the highway (my 2000 bonneville has seen 32)

Great idea but failed attempt. While it is cool you can get one for around 6k cheaper, its still 40k (can get a loaded track pack GT or 1LE for the same price) and i doubt that took out enough weight to make truly competitive with either car i just listed, which is a deal breaker for me.

Although your post was edited, by whats left im going to guess your not to happy with the replys your getting. Heres my advice based on what you have posted previously, first off, like others have said, do yourself a HUGE favor and stay away from those rodeos. I had 2 friends that owned them and by time both hit about 120k miles, they were undriveable because they had so many problems (electrical, trans ect...). Others on here have given you some pretty good ideas on some cars to look at, and thats perfectly fine if you dont care for the cars they reccomend, but it sounds to me like you just need to "settle" for something right now. Ive mentioned it before, but i dont know how you feel about gm stuff, but in most cases, a 95 gm is gonna be cheaper than a comparable year toyota, honda etc, but get something with a 3800 and never look back. I recently picked up a 95 olds 88 from a private sale, the car has 135k miles, body is in great shape, paint a little faded, interior is clean as can be. I paid 1700 for it, and i wouldnt hesitate to drive it to california right now.

SOLD! but when she decides she wants to ride you...........im calling dibs on your TA and all the ls stuff that you have...........just sayin
-
Called out yet again, and changes subject. Will you just leave already?
-
wait..........correct me if im wrong, but i believe we were already told earlier in this thread that at least the hip injury was from you being a fuck up (shocking right?) on a dirt bike? you really should learn to keep your stories straight. as for the corvette forum/brian thing. brian is one of the best guys i know, and you............... at this point, your nothing more than a worthless piece of fucking trash. brian, do yourself a favor and tell this little twat to jump off a cliff.
-
No ive never raced those 2, but both have actually ran times faster than mine. And seeing as you had to 2 honk me the last time we raced (you cheated to beat me) sit your ass down foool. Lol
-
Didnt i already prove to your retarded ass that N/A cars can be just as fast if not faster than boosted cars? Not to mention your talking shiy about a h/c z, when you havent even beat my cammed 3800 yet...

Considering 8's have been accomplished with a set of twin gt35r's on a basically stock bottom end motor, i dont think it would take much to make you look like a joke . Considering your car wont even make it half way down a track, i could probably do it now...
