  1. anyone have the information on how to get ahold of the senators?
  2. very nice man! My girlfriend wants a cobalt, so after she gets a job we are probly going to try to get one to. Buck, ive only been in the service department once and they were all really nice healpful. My only complaint was that i was there with a friend that had the cat go bad on her GP we sat there for 20 while they looked up the vin and everything, just to tell us that it was covered under warranty, but we would have to take it to a pontiac dealer to have it done. Although i will say its much better than the place we took the car (the dealership just down th road that took over the pontiacs), those guys were a bunch of idiots/ass holes.
  3. well with out knowing how a mustang exaust is, im gonna say that yes you can more than liket just have a y pipe made that will hook right up to your cat back. your gonna have to figure out exactly how it needs to be made though, like the exact design. Because although its not really illegal to take the cats off, no exaust shop will touch your car if they know what your doin, so you will have to draw it up. the problem with running your current exaust is, it will be restrictive, especially since your running boost. You wont make the power you want, plus you will have heat problems because the motor wont be able to get the exaust gases out as it needs to.
  4. Oh and i like i told ya before, save up and get ya a torque converter to, it will make a decent difference.
  5. this made me LOL. That is the truth. Thats also why i like reynoldsburg, there are so many of them with there little hondas that think there fart can adds 100 hp and they can beat anything on the road.
  6. thats not necessarily true. A 14.0 car can take on GT's and LT1 cars. Hell my car isnt that much faster than your car, or his will be, but ive taken down several LS1 cars with light mods, and GT's with mods.
  7. well in the later years, that is true. Exepct for now of course, seeing as the camaro is out selling it pretty well.
  8. im not quite sure what all meth does, so some one will have to awnser that question, but i know several people running a decent amount of boost on GM 3800's with the top swap (different motor, but same concept), and they just run 93 octane.
  9. meth is not necessity for that little boost. Any idea what the compression on those motors is? Kevin, you best bet is just to get some long tubes, and save your money and just remove your cats. You can usually get a muffler shop to bend you up a pipe to take the cats place. Just dont tell them what its for lol. And as for gas mileage, its all about how the car is set up and how you drive. For instance, about a year ago, i put a full tank in my firebird and with a mix of city and freeway driving, along with beating on the car from time to time, i got an average of 27.5 mpg, and thats with a very rich A/F ratio to lol. Although with the 4.10's im about ot put in, i expect that will go down. But wow, i always thought the ford 3.8's were stronger than that.
  10. in some ways, you can argue that the camaro and trans am are icons to. No, the camaro hasnt been around since 02, and the TA is gone, but they both have/had a long life span to. and both were american icons from the 60's to to 2002.
  11. right.........says the guy that drives a DSM...
  12. right after you lol. And you will have to talk to my dad about that one.
  13. i agree with most of this statement. Although it should be changed to, foxbody>305 80's f body. i am curious how the new cars will compete though. Im curious what dodge will do now to compete the the GT and SS, or even the 6 cylinder models now that even ford has stepped it up. I think some one mentioned in another thread that dodge was upping the power of the SRT-8 to like 525 to aim for the shelby and Z-28, but its still to under powered and over weight to compete.
  14. quoted for truth. It keeps me from being bored as shit while at work.
  15. quoted for truth because hes right. With a cam, the motor will breath a little better so you will take better advantage of the stock boost. Plus it will be much easier to do the cam swap now since you will already have the intakes off and such. Plus you can always do the pulley swap down the road fairly easily and again, you will see better gains because of that cam. edit: although come to think of it, before you decide which to get, id figure out what your long term plans for the car are. Because if you go with the cam, to really take advantage of a cam, your more than likely going to need a torque converter. If you dont think your gonna want to spend the money for one, id just go for the pulley.
  16. ok, its nothing new that a company is going else where to build some cars, hell my 96 firebird is built in canada. But what you fail to realize is, the domestic auto makers still employ way more americans than any other. and to each there own how you choose a car, but as far as im concerned, american companies build any type/style of car i would ever consider, so ill stick with them.
  17. well being that your car will only be the second one ive ever seen with this setup, i have no idea how much more boost will help. I would assume the cam would be the better upgrade though. How many pounds of boost will it see with the stock pulley?
  18. yep no problem man. are you interested in any other parts of the store, or just fuel center?
  19. Lmao, you sound just like me. i went out to that B&T car lot in pataskala to look at a GTO they had a while back. After i talked to the guy about price and what not, he decided to tell me they had a sporty toyota solara for sale to. i told the guy not to waste his breath unless it was a GM or Ford lol. But im completely obsessed. all my money goes into my car.
  20. yea i know, but last i heard, toyota was still claiming its a floor mat issue.
  21. AJ, where do you work? ive been looking for a base V6 car like that.
  22. im with scott on this one. i dont give 2 shits what the media says. the funny thing is, most cars that get talked up (honda, toyota) arent as good as they usually sound. For instance, my aunt is huge honda/acura person. its really all she has ever owned. She will sit there and tell you all day how good every car car of hers has been to her. But i told my dad about that a couple months ago, he just laughed and said "bullshit, ive had to rebuild several motors in her POS's". As with my opnion on toyota right now, they say all the gas pedals are getting stuck by floor mats. Even if that is true, my questions are, how long have they been in business? and how long have floor mats been around? seriously, it cant be that hard to make a damn floor mat unless you fail at life (cough...toyota....cough). And ya know, ive had 3 pontiacs since i began driving. i sold the first one with 175K miles on it and still running perfectly. My firebird gets abused daily and has 176K miles on it, and my DD is a 93 GP with 225K miles on it, and it runs great, so the media can blow me. and dont even get me started on the german made piles of shit ive had to deal with...
